This is the HB that brings me the most unique and pleasant tones, of the three i own. The neck is thin, flat, smooth, and fast. No lacquer just smooth goodness. The PUPs are as chimey and metal ping sounding as any guitar i have. The wood is good quality ash, chambered for weight and tone. It does stay in tune and can be manipulated easily through the bridge. Not a great bridge, but usable and adjustable. It is just fun and inexpensive.
Check out Jonathan Koh, a guitarist from Singapore - he does a lot with very inexpensive Harley Bentons, and is a great player. Not to mention, Henning Pauly.
@@davelanciani-dimaensionx Henning is not that good a player, he talks to much and he is affiliated with harleybenton/thomann, Def not my first play to go to have good advice on HB guitars
@@SebPerfake Henning might not be the greatest guitarist of all time, but he's still more than good enough to demo the guitars. Despite his affiliation to Thomann I have also seen him being critical of a few HB models when they haven't been up to par - so he's not just a complete shill. Sure he may be biased to an extent (everyone is) but his videos are still a good source of HB reviews. I'll third that Jonathan Koh is a fantastic player and a great reviewer.
Came for the guitar... ...stayed for the playing You got the rhythm Jay!!! I'm watching tons of guitar vids and lots of good guitarists and you don't have to hide behind them. I got me one of those Harbronitas used for 100€ quid and installed Gretsch Filtertrons to it, wich were laying around in my drawer. Added a knock off Bigsby and now it's one of my favorite guitars.
Definitely the best HB with any kind of humbucker. Roswell humbuckers generally suck (their single coils are great) but these filtertrons are quite good. This is also the guitar that needs the least work, the nut will need replacing one day but that's it. Changing the string tree heads is also a good idea but that's done in 2 seconds for a buck.
Best review of this guitar so far. Serious chops you've got there. From the looks of the pickguard it appears that you've actually given this thing a decent test drive before dishing out an opinion. So many reviews are straight OOB before the paint even dries. Thanks for taking the time to do it right. Subbed.
Can anyone agree putting this guy and Jonathan Koh on a collaboration is a great UA-cam covid concert for all? Both can make HB guitars or others sound awesome.
Most of all, you have the perfect sound (and the fitting style of playing!!) for that kinda guitar! It really helps, though Harley Benton really improved and manufactures some decent gear now
The necks are like butter! I have one of these but they seem to have changed the range slightly as they dont stock the white one anymore and the bridge and writing on the headstock looks different to mine.
I have one and it's my favourite guitar, the neck is matt and incredibly smooth... The finishing is better than my Epi SG pro and Gibson V. Maybe mine was a fluke but it is incredible.
I think the neck has a 12" radius, medium Jumbo frets. it's pretty well build. Mine has some fret issues that need taking care of. Other than that, it's a pretty smooth neck. Full 42mm nut, so close to Fender specs. As for the profile goes, I would call it a medium "D" and very comfortble to play.
Well bro , 1st of all you are a damn killer player ;) About Harley Benton I have Harley Benton Les Paul 450 plus , I do gigs all the time nothing bad with it ,sound amazing ,no problems with tuners ,looks Great and I prefer her then a Gibson that is at least 3000 Euros , Harley Benton are f great , that's just my opinion... respect to your style ,love it
Great guitar and magnificent playing! Is there a difference with the TE 90FLT models that do not say deluxe series, or what does deluxe include? Thank you
Hi Jay That was some great playing, for all those guitar players who splitting hair over pickups, guitar wood, and brands you proved them it's about guitar player everything else is just marketing for suckers, best regards from Australia
That's some funky pickin' ya doing there! This is one of the contenders on my list of "cheap teles I might get." Love the simplicity of the look. Reverse headstock looks pretty dope on a Tele body. And based on how it sounds in this video, might not even bother with a pickup upgrade!
*03:35** What type (genere/style) is that music?* I heard similar sometimes, but sortest on a Lee Roth album by Jason Becker, but i dunno what is it type.
I don't know if the upside down heaadstock would bother me but I like the layout better than the fender with the selector switch in the appropriate place.
That looks fun!!! Funny, I was looking at this particular one, but I then came across the FUSION ll HSH LH FNT Roe, of course nothing to do with the type of sound the TE 90FLT...has and gives. After i ordered the FUSION, I still thought, "I'll have to get the TE 90FLT " as well Geez, damn prices suck you in to this Harley World!!!! Nice playing by the way :-) :-) darn thing sounds great!!!
I would say the fit and finish is quite similar to what you would see in a Squier guitar. Not as smooth and precise as a high end guitar. You can definitely open it up a lot with a few tweaks.
Mine should be arriving Friday JLJ! The liquid sunshine, is that a boost, preamp or overdrive. It adds a little more. great playing great info on the HB
@@JayLeonardJ thank you! I always tell people 'If you're havin a bad day, tune in to Jay Leonard J." You're uplifting. Keep it going! Thanks for replying! Best
Interesting guitar for sure, but you could make any guitar sound great. I recently got my first HB, the TE-80 Prince thing, and I'm super impressed. You should review one of those! Apparently they've improved this model over the years, with better pickups (one feature of this type of guitar is that it supposedly has Strat type pickups rather than Tele), nicer headstock logo, and a very cool dark wood binding on the maple fretboard. I freakin' love this guitar! It is extremely heavy though... gotta be well over ten pounds. Anyway, I'll have to look into the Cabronita thing more. I'd heard of them but don't know much.
I think you would like the CST 24T P90 (Double P90 PRS style). Give it a go if that's something that interests you :) Price is about 50€ more than this one.
Not fair...you can make anything sound amazing! Great playing...I've been eye-balling these guitars for a while now so that's pretty cool to hear it played by someone with this much style and flavor.
Dude, your playing is fire! I would love your review on the Harley Benton fusion-T. With this kind of playing, because I cannot find that for some reason
What kinda overdrive do have going at 4:55 (before gain pedal). Driven amp? Love your percussive strumming 👍🏻 wish I had the chords.. That bridge PU sounds really gnarly.
I wanted to buy the TE-90 but the other one with the burst this one seems everyone that buys it has it. I want to be different. you made it sound incredible thanx for the review helped a lot. OH! I do own the TE-30 for an economy Guitar its great heavy (9.4 lbs.) but sound s great.
awesome review, love your playing and how you appreciate all styles. I have this same guitar, would a set of tv jones make a difference in your opinion and be worth it price wise? thanks Allan
how was you experience with the shipping customs and duty cost?, I'm very tempted to get one of this ones and a cabinet from them but I'm quite scare with the extra cost of the GST and Duty...

I like the Filtertron pickups, and am happy to see them finding a place in the HB lineup. And you have a vibe! 👍
I like your playing, very expressive, not mindless shredding or repetitive stuff

My guess: FLT stands for Filtertron, VW for Vintage White, and, of course TE for Telecaster. Nice playing.
Just bought this guitar, it’s still on the boat 🚣♀️. Can’t wait to get it.
Great review!
You got a great tone mate. I mean your fingers. perfect, honest demo.
It's a FilterCaster! It sounds great in your hands. I'm not crazy about the reverse headstock, but it is congruent with this model.

Best player on UA-cam...has the skill of Johnny Hiland...
Thanks so much! I'll take that complement ANY day of the week :)
Looks like an ideal beginners guitar; No trem, simple switching, humbuckers with a clear sound. I guess a good P&W guitar as well.
also very easy to set optimal action, have very low action with no buzz with individual saddles which is a blessing
Sounds great 👍🏻
The new JA-60CC looks interesting. Maybe you could try this next .
