I was born in 2001, and I’m an only child, but I can 110% agree with this. The Wii will always be the most important console in our lives. It brought our families, even our elder family members, all together. Simple controls to use in order to play. It was like it wasn’t the family playing Wii really anymore. More like the Wii became part of the family. Best of luck with everything for you, Jak. I’m sorry for the passing of your father, but although he may not be living anymore, the memories will live on forever.
You indeed made my cry. With how many years have passed since my childhood, videos like this make me want to experience that once again with the people I love. I’m sorry about your dad passing and I hope everything goes well for you.
I remember you saying this in a previous video and this advice is amazing. Ive been playing old minecraft versions that i used to play on the xbox 360 in primary school, and its made me a whole lot happier.
Your videos have had a very big impact on me and my spiritual life, you always say the thing I need to hear. Although I am only 14, I Have been able to play the Wii with my brothers in like super smash bros brawl, I was taught how to play that game at the age of 4 from my older brother. It was great honestly.
I was born in 2009 (almost 2008). I never played the wii that much, not because i didnt like it, but because i didnt have one. I could only play it when my cousin brought it. I didnt get to play it that much, but the times i played it with him, it was indeed amazing. Definitely one of my best childhood memories
One thing I've learned in life. You don't have to grow up and lose all the fun things. You just have to add a little chores to them. I hope your Dad rests in power. And I'd solo everyone in this comment section at Wii Sports Swords😎😎😎😎
I never played the wii but this is reminding me of play station 2 that i got form my uncle in Italy and played with my uncle dad and my little sister, now me remembering going throught all of the game dvds, and finding the game that i play, one day the play station 2 fell and break, and we bought a new phone for my dad because he needed one, i still was 6 years old, but my dad FOR NO REASON, stop Playing with ME beacause he became attached to the phone more that me, even that i still needed his love to me, but everything ended so soon.
This video has officially made me appreciate the Wii a whole lot more, Nintendo always tends to aim for casuals and Surprisingly It works. During the time when I had the Wii I never knew how to do online play or knew how the online Shop worked, instead I would just play games the old fashion way and get physical discs that me, my sisters and friends get to play together. The early 2010s were really enjoyable for me, and I was 10 years old during that time. This video was really impressive and emotional
Firstly I'd like to say, sorry for your loss man. Although I haven't had any deaths in the family recently, I have kind of neglected myself a lot. I've treated myself so poorly and I honestly feel that this video weirdly enough, helped me see that. I'm going to bring out the Wii tonight and feel like a kid again. As a person born in 2010, I didn't really have a Wii at all, but i loved Minecraft alot i got a Pc in 2014 when i was 4 (gaming pc with windows 7 on it), at it's time it was genuinely good, but watching others play i would ask for the game and my father bought it for me on my birthday in 2015 when i turned 5. Looking back after 8 years, time passed so quickly, all the fun times are just washed up memories now that aren't remembered properly.
I have been playing the wii when i was just 3 (Maybe 4 idk) My parents got it when 2010 hit when i was a baby. And... It was my childhood. Now in 2024 its not the same looking back at my memories myself. The first ever Champions i beat was tennis. Then Boxing, then Baseball. I still have it today.
i never had a wii but i used to play on my 3DS all the time and play racing games 24/7. looking on it now as an early teenager (13-15) this era was my happiest time in my entire life. i had good, genuine friends, no worries, no care about being accepted in school because everyone already accepted everyone! my class was like one big friend group. this will most likely not get noticed by anyone but if there is someone reading this, go out there and enjoy the activities you used to love. maybe, you will get interested in that thing again!

I remember as a little kid playing Wii Sports with my parents and Mario Kart Wii with my cousins. Greatest times of my life. I still have my Wii today, it's my favourite console, miles better than the Switch, I'm a teen now and have two younger siblings, and those two games are my favourites along with Wii Sports Resort, still playing all three with my friends and family today.
My family still own my childhood wii and so many friends love having a go when they come to visit. This can be a very daunting thought, but when we spend quality time together hanging out and playing the wii like when we were younger, it's truly such an amazing time. I really love the Wii. The Wii U was something that feels more nostalgic to me, but the Wii was something I remember playing so much when I was very young, that or the ps3 were probably the first consoles I’ve ever played. Also I remember always going over to my grandparents house and playing Mario Galaxy, Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros Wii, maybe Mario Kart Wii, and Mario Kart DS

you and I have had a similar experience. I'm mkRealm. i played the wii with my brother when i was little and when my brothers were either coming into town or going on a trip, i would always have the wii, making memories. and after around i was 10 i wasn't playing the wii as much, until my friend brought something that lit a spoke in my heart. he brought a game called Mario kart wii, he and i played it for like 6 hours and i loved the game, so a day later i bought the game and the rest is history. im now in competitive Mario kart wii, bc of my friend showing me this game. and btw he and i are still great friends and still play Mario kart wii together.
Jak, what I did, was load up Minecraft bedrock I know it's not a popular version of the game, but it was what I played on the Xbox one with my brothers and friends, so today I joined my friend and we played it for about 3 hours before getting off, your right, it really does tap you into that childhood experience
Bro, literally last night me and my friends played with the Wii for the first time in years! It was so amazing. I'm so sorry for your loss, and you talking about your dad just took me back to my childhood because I used to play Mario Kart with my dad everyday. This video hits different man...
I believe you cuz everytime i watch a video from you about something releated to this makes me feel good but i don't know what could bring back this childhood feeling other than watching these videos.
Born in 2005 and trying to find my way in life ever since, always sometimes remembering the things that made little me happy. I’ll go back and revisit them every so often, but not as much as I used to. But now? I’m trying to stay true to myself, I learned that to be the best me that I can be, then I need to stay true to myself. Instead of trying to fit in i’ve gone back and tried making games again, working out, etcetera. Hope you’re doing well Jak, and same to everyone else out there. You got this, you woke up this morning, don’t stop trying. 💪
Even though I grew up a gen alpha, I was fortunate enough to have the privilege of playing double dash with my best friends and his siblings at a young age. I then started playing on my dad’s old one,and his n64. It was amazing. I remember asking him how to hold the controller and always laughing. I appreciate my life.
I was born in 2009 but still had great memories with the ps3 I love that console I miss the Lego Batman games and also playing Minecraft for the first time I remember making a ugly mansion with a large balcony all out of diamonds 😂
Man, I didn’t grow up with the wii sadly as I was born after it, but I do have huge amounts of nostalgia for the 2ds, the snes classic, and especially the switch. I do wish I was born in 2000 tho.

As somebody who grew up playing Mario Kart Wii with my dad, wow. This brings back some great memories. Thank you Jack ❤️
Wait, the Wii is that old?!? Time has flew by. I really want time to stop. How will kids today not experience the Wii?!? It was so fun!
The wii was the best. It felt like an actual consol ment for you to have fun. These days it's all too expensive for games that aren't fun anymore.
I didn't have an actual wii but a wii u, i had so much fun playing it from 2015-2017 and i plan to go back to it soon after i get it repaired
The Wii board you stand on actually helped me control my balance when I was 2-3 years old! I miss Wii fit and Wii sports 😭
All I can say is, thank you. So much.
Man sorry for your loss, I damn sure that your dad is proud for you.
I honestly need to do… the exact same… I love the Wii… I’ve dug out my DS for the same reason too… it’s just amazing.
you and I have had a similar experience.
Bro idk why but all of your videos make me sad but are still good
That video gave me so much Tom Scott vibes, keep it up❤
As someone who’s almost 20, I remember loving the Wii
Also its crazy how successful this guy is while being only 18, great job man
There will never be another console as magical as the Wii.
the wii wasn’t part much of my childhood but the xbox 360 definitely was
when my dad brought home the xbox version of minecraft, that made my year
Bro, literally last night me and my friends played with the Wii for the first time in years!
I loved playing wii guitar hero as a kid.
I was born in 2009 but still had great memories with the ps3 I love that console I miss the Lego Batman games and also playing Minecraft for the first time I remember making a ugly mansion with a large balcony all out of diamonds 😂
Jak thank you for this realization i need to keep my childhood self alive and happy
I ran down stairs and called my dog, it’s 98 degrees out and I don’t even care. Nostalgia is by far my favorite emotion. ❤
Jack, I just wanted to say that you inspired me to become a better person and I just want to thank you for that. I wish you the best in life mate💪🏻💪🏻
Man, I didn’t grow up with the wii sadly as I was born after it, but I do have huge amounts of nostalgia for the 2ds, the snes classic, and especially the switch. I do wish I was born in 2000 tho.
This man needs to be a filmmaker, his Wii scene was movie quality
The fact that the Wii feels as retro as it does is scary. That's how fast it goes
My brother bought a Wii a couple weeks ago and I got the same feeling, I'm glad I'm not the only one
