As a Gen Zer (born 1998), the early 2010s were a golden age for our generation. Movies were amazing, video games were exciting and UA-cam began to take off. Not to mention I was in middle school and early high school at that point which I considered a fun time. Sometimes I wish I could restart my life in 2010 just for the fun of it.
Also born in 98, September 7th. Majority of my own personal nostalgia is for the mid to late 90s media. In this case I'm referring to video games, music, shows/films, and the technology used to play all of these forms of entertainment. I was hardly interested in anything past the 2000s. Rarely playing a handful of games for the Ps3, and even then it was my 2 younger brothers who were more interested in the then, latest media. Around 2015 I barely began to play on the Xbox 360, by that point it was already an outdated gaming console since the Xbox One came out in 2013. The only games I played on the 360 were Minecraft (console edition, man that was a great version), and an already relatively "old" game called Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (released in 2013, and both the game and the company that made it have a ridiculous story behind them). The 2nd game was okay to somewhat good imo, but definitely not the worst game I've played.
I was born in 2003 January I miss the early 2010s I remember showing my brother pixel gun 3-D and stuff like angry Birds fanf I watch a lot of shows I remember went silly bands were crazy love the music
1999 baby here. Something about the 2010s just felt right. Every year was a party or something new was going viral. There was always something different every year. There are so many memories I never thought I would have to cherish to this day. I was a straight-up gamer through those years, and I'd say gaming was at its peak.
we've finally hit the Gen Z version of the good old days. It's really funny hearing you talk about how good CN USED to be, which is a sentiment people my age used to complain about Adventure Time and talk about how CN USED TO BE GOOD with powerpuff girls lol ,it will forever be like this, kids in 10 years will talk about how Gumball is better than whatever is airing then.
Same! 2007 here as well! It’s genuinely sad to see all of our favorite games and cartoons not really talked about a whole lot anymore. My old 3DS and Wii are actually turning 10 in a couple of days which is kinda sad but neat to see in a way.
I have an odd feeling towards this time period as I was born in 2005. I was young so of course I'd look at this era very positively, but there's a very particular feeling of optimism that I get everytime I see stuff from that time period. I wish I had a better way of explaining it, but I miss the overwhelming sense of optimism that was everywhere. I enjoy the party music and aesthetics that were around then still
2004 mf over here. Your video brought back some very fond memories of my childhood. Especially connected with you when you brought up the PS Vita. That handheld was the best thing to come out of Sony's ass in a hot minute. It kills me that there will never be anything like it again. Just like all things we took for granted. Something I've noticed over the now 20 years of my life is that whenever someone today says that time has flown by, what they really mean is that everything's changed. It has. And really fucking fast. Fuck, man. It feels like I should still be a kid yet I'm technically an adult typing on a phone that doubles as a jack-of-all-trades rectangular prism that can seemingly perform miracles. If you told me fifteen years ago that future phones could take my pulse using nothing but the main camera I'd have called bullshit. Yet with the novelty now in hand, it doesn't feel as magical as, say, the first time playing Minecraft 1.7.10. I guess what I'm trying to say is that our early decades are what count when it comes to comparing our experiences to something. And even though I'll never get to emulate the feeling of watching a let's play on 2007's UA-cam ever again, I'm at least glad I did it in the first place. I also wish I had lived my childhood in the U.S. so that I could discover Adult Swim way earlier.
Honestly the craziest thing is the comments seeing people born prior to the year 2000 and even into 2005+ who experienced all this too. @@tfwnoyandere I could see why you feel that way. Personally I really enjoyed the rest of the 2010s up until about mid-2019. That was when everything was sort of devolving into the 2020s

one thing about 2000's and early 2010's is that the culture was also very different with it aswell, people were just really alive to just party and have fun and i feel like life was really at its peak, this was the time where technology was growing rapidly for not only consoles but for phones aswell, the ipod turning into the iphone and ipad getting released, people were experiencing greater newer technology, an iphone 4 or 5 can just fit super small in ur hand now compared to phones nowadays where they're pretty big. trends back then everyone was apart of no matter what it really was. i think the fashion sense back then was simplistic but alot of people mixed it up in their own ways. (also the justin beiber hate loool)
Yep, technology really changed quickly back then. Just look at early UA-cam vs early 2010s UA-cam it's like night and day. I remember we had to put in a special URL just to see if a vid would load in HD 😅

I’m another early GenZ baby (born in 1996), and 2010 to 2014 were my high school years. The late 90s, the 2000s, and the early 2010s were the best time for childhoods imho in terms of culture, music, gaming, tv, sports, school (certain aspects), friends, nostalgia-building, toys, phones, computers, and the internet.
Born in 2000 and let me say, 2010 changed everything for me, from using UA-cam with my old suspended account, watching old nick shows on Netflix, Regular Show, movies like Kick-Ass and Hot Tub Time Machine, all around good stuff, all that changed around mid 2014, I miss those days but we gotta move on.
I miss early 2010s (2010-2012) those are best years for me in 5th grade. I remember Cartoon Network usually rerunning the classics from 2000s in those times and same thing Disney and Nickelodeon too. It felt like 2000s again feeling. The music better and they also old school hip hop remixes was better than modern mumble hip hop.

@@THEDARKKNIGHTXTDK I'd personally say around 2016 because a few good shows were still ongoing like Adventure Time and Over the Garden Wall. I haven't checked the channel in a long time but there doesn't seem to be much that appeals to me since. 2016 and the disappointing Powerpuff Girls reboot alongside Steven Universe getting justified criticism was probably when people started to notice CN's quality decline.
2007 guy here. My favorite year of the 2010’s was 2014 because I got my 3DS and my Wii for my bday that year. I also grew up on 90’s Disney VHS movies and DVD’s. Watching the Lion King on VHS and Santa Paws on DVD was something 😂.
There was something so special about 2011 Minecraft, so magical. I remember the reveal trailers for BO1. How excited everyone was when they brought back zombies from WaW. When Adventure Time came out, all the popular music from that era, the fashion, the memes, the internet culture. What I would give to go back to the late 00s/early 10s for one day...
BOOMERANG MENTIONED RAHHHHH. Drake and Josh, Spongebob, Tom and Jerry, Avatar the Last Airbender, DBZ, the list goes on and on. I did not expect the first section about TV to give me as much nostalgia as it did.
I’m just so happy that you used specifically LBP costumes as examples of the 2010s type fashion trend. I feel like that isn’f talked abt enough and it makes me so happy that it was mentioned. 0:39
Thank you! LBP was one of my biggest influences during my childhood. I remember I wanted to be a popular creator, and have a level MM picked. It always nice to see others that have played LBP.
i was in high school during this era, and this was the time I started to get into gaming in general, as well as the time i started spending more time online and being on Tumblr. This was peak Tumblr era. This was also the time my time watching TV and listening to popular music was slowly dwindling and I spent more time either online or playing games. As for games I was playing during this time, it was mainly Mario Kart Wii, and 7, and lots of Pokemon since I got into the series in 2013 with Pokemon X. That was THE hyperfixation for the next few years. The friends I made during this time, mainly cuz of MKW, were.... good friends at the time, but I've sadly cut them off since then.
I wasn't born in the US, but I've watched cn, Nick, and disney growing up, but i stopped watching cn, Disney and nick caus my house didn't have cable when I came to the US and becaus introduced to PBS kids and qubo Even though I was born in 2008 I've experienced every 2000s and easrly 2010s shows only because shows would air in random years and months but good thing is I was alive to watch them. when I came to the US in 2013, I still watched the big 3 and me and my family and I were living at a friend's house. 2014, when we moved to our house.
I was born in 2008 and I remember I would always hear the best songs oat and play Mario on my 3ds and my moms WII, even games were at their peak back then and YT as well even cartoons I wish there's a way to go back and experience those times again because it was so good
I was born in France in 2005 in a small urban area where everybody would play on ps3/ps4 and watch animes and even though i think that i didn't take profit on everything that i used to learn and play, i think that i spent at least some good time in discovering a wide array of things whether it's music, games, movies or animes, my generation grew up with great fictions and we were the most creative of all human history ! maybe one day we'll be able to relive those moments whether if we die or have the ability to come back in the past who knows
As a kid i watched nick, nick at night. Cartoon Network. Adult swim. Disney, Disney xd. And some other channels when our cable got cut off. Oh yeah pbs! Dang I forgot about boomerang! It was lit watching it at 2am💀
2006 baby here, I remember playing a lot of mobile games on my iPad. I don’t remember much from 2010-2012 cause I was like 4-5 years old. But majority what you mentioned I experienced. Especially the Mickey Mouse song mash up. I remember a goofy animation with gotta keep your head up by Andy grahmer.
A lot of early 2010's songs feel like musical embodiments of lost childhood joy and innocence to me (and I know that 100 percent has to do with the fact that I grew up hearing them on the way to school and at social events). If you want to now what I'm talking about, listen to We Come Running by Youngblood Hawke, Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon and Under Control by Calvin Harris right next to each other.

I played so much LBP between 2012 and 2015. I kinda stopped when LBP3 came out, at least after I played the game a few months after it came out, and the game was nowhere near as good as LBP2. On a sad note all of the LBP servers are now gone even the PS4 servers :(

Born in 2001, I think you almost didn’t miss a single thing I was excited about during those days, except for Sonic the Hedgehog.
The bajan Canadian thumbnail at 12:27 brought back crazy memories
1999 here. The 2010s bring me significant nostalgia. This is very saddening.
Don’t you worry child was also popular in 2012 As well.
The Switch just doesn’t hit the same as the Wii
Time just don’t feel like this no more 😭
I miss early 2010s (2010-2012) those are best years for me in 5th grade. I remember Cartoon Network usually rerunning the classics from 2000s in those times and same thing Disney and Nickelodeon too. It felt like 2000s again feeling. The music better and they also old school hip hop remixes was better than modern mumble hip hop.
Cartoon Network was the best. I used to watch a lot of keyblade as well, peak lego star wars too!
@@childishdestino I like OG Teen Titans, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien, Clone Wars 2003 version, Foster’s Home, Codname KND, Clone Wars 2008 version and Ed Edd n Eddy were best.
@@THEDARKKNIGHTXTDK I remember watching Ben 10 a lot until early Ultimate Alien and stopped due to how good Regular Show, Gumball and Generator Rex were. I'm still baffled that Cartoon Network shafted the last season of Gen Rex around 2013 to morning slots
@@ThatGuy-ky2yf I felt Cartoon Network died in the year 2013 because they don't run classics and Teen Titans Go! Came out that year then everything went downhill, and the dark age began. Worst times of all and everything changed.
WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME
I loved Re-Micks. The ones I remember the most were Hello, When Love Takes Over, Ghosts & Stuff, and my favorite, Rocketeer
1999 baby. So happy I grew up in the early 2010s!
phantom menace in 3d was my first star wars film in theatres, time flys
2007 guy here. My favorite year of the 2010’s was 2014 because I got my 3DS and my Wii for my bday that year. I also grew up on 90’s Disney VHS movies and DVD’s. Watching the Lion King on VHS and Santa Paws on DVD was something 😂.
Gen Z remembered the early 2010s the same way Millenials remembered the early 2000s. It was a great time indeed!
Greetings from Germany, im growing up in the 90s but i like the early 2010 too. Imagine peoples in 2040 missing 2024.
By the way Germany won the world cup in 2014
I think that might be your favorite year
There was something so special about 2011 Minecraft, so magical.
I played that game too much back in 2013/2014 for me to NOT mention it.
only few videos I've seen that talked about LittleBigPlanet. The game is so underrated, very good video:)
Thank you! LBP was one of my biggest influences during my childhood. I remember I wanted to be a popular creator, and have a level MM picked. It always nice to see others that have played LBP.
as an early 2003 baby, you just described my whole childhood in a video
i was in high school during this era, and this was the time I started to get into gaming in general, as well as the time i started spending more time online and being on Tumblr.
I miss these days
Early 2010s was the best time to be on the internet and the best time to watch anime
elite years man. gonna spend the rest of my life missing them
2001 baby,me and all my friends where the definition of 2010’s kids lol
I wasn't born in the US, but I've watched cn, Nick, and disney growing up, but i stopped watching cn, Disney and nick caus my house didn't have cable when I came to the US and becaus introduced to PBS kids and qubo Even though I was born in 2008 I've experienced every 2000s and easrly 2010s shows only because shows would air in random years and months but good thing is I was alive to watch them.
when I came to the US in 2013, I still watched the big 3 and me and my family and I were living at a friend's house. 2014, when we moved to our house.
I was born in 2008 and I remember I would always hear the best songs oat and play Mario on my 3ds and my moms WII, even games were at their peak back then and YT as well even cartoons I wish there's a way to go back and experience those times again because it was so good
2:21 ain’t no way my guy forgot SpongeBob
Great movies and music can't live without them
The early 2010s was literally the golden era of my life.
I'm glad I'm not the only one to remember "remicks"
I was scared of Sackboy as a kid, for whatever reason. I even had a nightmare where he flashed me.
BRO WHAT
7:19, Your mom gave you the original Xbox!? Lucky you
Skylanders was my childhood ngl
A lot of early 2010's songs feel like musical embodiments of lost childhood joy and innocence to me (and I know that 100 percent has to do with the fact that I grew up hearing them on the way to school and at social events). If you want to now what I'm talking about, listen to We Come Running by Youngblood Hawke, Shut Up And Dance by Walk The Moon and Under Control by Calvin Harris right next to each other.
We come running is a BANGER! Reminds me of Soccer practice back in 2011!
Shout to your whole perspective of king of the hill, swear that’s my same story on it
born 2003
the 2010s really were the best times.
0:49 LITTLEBIGPLANET AND BATTLE BEARS MENTIONED IN THE SAME VIDEO?!?! OH THIS IS GONNA BE FUN
2:38 I remember my mom introduced this to me when I was younger. I still watch it sometimes when I watch tv.
3:48 you just gave me flashbacks
8:07 W games (never played cod)
Owww right in the childhood 😭 then i turn 29 this month graduated 2O14 and this whole video made me feel like wow
As a dude from 06 i did have memories of playing minecraft on my ps3 with my younger brother but that was from mid to lake 2010s, early to mid was when i first started playing, building crap houses and being crap at survival, my older cousin got me into minecraft and i played it a lot.
Sorry about the life story.
1:20 only one ear can actually damage your ear because of the sound balance being too loud and wearing for just one eardrum
The vita song is so nostalgic 😢
Does anyone here remember Games like ModNation Racers, Sonic Generations or PlayStation Allstars for PS3?
I wish 2015 was also included as well. Simply because for me that was a pretty great year of the 2010's. I have my own reasons.
You know how the 2000’s has frutiger aero? The early 2010’s had frutiger metro
I was 17 in 2010 but I still relate to a lot of this (how do you do fellow kids)
The 2010s was my childhood
bruh the drive in movie theater by my childhood home is closing down ☹️
Im sorry to hear that, I haven't been to one in years
2:26 BIG TIME PEAK
Skinny jeans, supra's, faux hawk's, snapbacks, vans/converse/dc, wizards of waverly place, Bruno Mars, B.O.B., and Paramore..Twilight ofcourse, the whole Team Edward vs Jacob thing..Cena vs Orton, Step Up 3D and Karate Kid...unfinished homework lmao yooo I could go hours and hours with this...wish I was 16 again...2010 where are you
Lbp2 ♥️ glad to have grown up in the early 2010s
Damn the lbp stuff hit me hard. I miss that game.
tbh i grew up during this time but i always thought the music during this era was absolutely terrible and i still do
That's okay, that's how I feel about mainstream music from 2016 - 2019
Early 2010s:Candy Crush Saga and Subway Surfers
Late 2010s:Asian guys in thigh high cycling sleeves
I LOVED watching Fan Generation by Dragonic Fire, I was able to get in a video or two. I was on LBP all the time.
That guy was my childhood back in 2013/2014.
I’d say 2014 was The Mid-2010s (2014 - 2016), not The Early-2010s (2010 - 2013), but, apart from that, great video.
I think it could be considered both early and mid 2010s. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍
@@childishdestinoExample: early 2000's is from 2000-2003, Ok?
@@naoedasuaconta-22Yh, Early 2000s is 2000-2002/2003. Mid 2000s is 2003/2004-2006, & Late 2000s is 2007-2009.
Real OGs remember when Adult Swim would come on at 9 PM
I definitely remember that!
0:29 hey, you said my good friends name!!!
10:20 uh, i never had a headset that wasn't stereo. ultracheap headsets that were bundled with consoles were only a problem on consoles.
Little big planet was my childhood. My character was definitely a product of its time 😭
I played so much LBP between 2012 and 2015. I kinda stopped when LBP3 came out, at least after I played the game a few months after it came out, and the game was nowhere near as good as LBP2. On a sad note all of the LBP servers are now gone even the PS4 servers :(
