  • In this episode we will go through the process of reassembling the long block of our 454 engine. The block and crankshaft are back together but we still need to install the pistons, cylinder heads, camshaft, lifters, rockers, and timing cover which will all be covered in this episode. These are some of the main engine components going back together, so this episode is a really important one!

    I quite respect and equally enjoy that the build isn't treated like a 5 figure, no holds barred, new everything build. It shows that the commoner is entirely capable of managing and affording a reasonable yet fun build in their garage.

    idk if I have mentioned this before. If you use Permatex Number 3 aviation goop on paper gaskets you can reuse them many many times. Just don't spill it in your toolbox because you'll never get rid of it lol

      Why the hell would you wanna even try to reuse a paper gasket 🤣🤣🤣

    • @JamieBainbridge
      @JamieBainbridge 2 роки тому +1

      Things you are taking off and on multiple times to test and tune. Just to generally not be wasteful. So you don't have to keep a stock of every gasket in your garage at all times. It might get you out of a tight spot when you're fixing something on the side of the road at midnight by light of a torch. Many reasons.
