- Do you run the shipping guards on your challenger or charger front splitters? You know...those yellow splitter guards that are supposed to be removed by the dealer and never are. Well SRT has something to say about WHY they NEED to be taken off! This new automotive trend has everyone including SRT buzzing!

Well here is 1 thing that is COOL about the yellow guard, is that when your driving and you look in your rear view mirror and you see a challenger with the yellow splitter you know that its a scatpack or hellcat!
Exactly! That's because only the SRT and the Scat packs have the Performance Bumpers which are required to install the yellow splitters.

I kept them on until my brother drove my daytona and hit a curb it protected the bumper but the guards broke and the paint wasn't harmed.

If people like them soo much SRT should make them a offical mod part in a way that it actually protects the paint and fits the air dynamics 🤷♂️upgrade it in a way it help and be replaceable for those that do or dont want it😌

Matthew Hanna I have a F8 Green Challenger and I still have my Splitter Guards on after a year. As long as they aren’t affecting my engine or paint job I’m going to leave them on. I love them, mine are yellow, I’m keeping my bananas...lol 😂

For those of you who have them on, the guards WILL damage the paint if you don't protect it somehow. I took mine off after about 3 months and there was already some light scratching. I used some clear Gorilla tape to provide a barrier. I also wrapped my guards with yellow vinyl wrap because the yellow was fading. Just some tips if you plan on having them on for a while.
Don’t worry, some of us with Challengers don’t have painted splitters.
To each their own. If you pay for the car you can do what you want to with it.
They look awesome on black, that’s why I have them. Car will look worse with them off!

This is def subjective. So what if you like them on?? It’s just a piece of plastic you can remove whenever. I think they look good. Even the new pink ones on the b5 blues. I’d probably leave them for the first year once I’m tired of the look i would remove them.

Its funny how there are guys out there that think it looks cool. 🤣 i agree with this guy. They ruin the look of car. But those are the same guys who put tacky cosmetics all over their car and think that looks better as well.
I told the dealer to take it off when I picked my 2022 Challenger Hellcat widebody. I have seen the damage they can do. I think they are ugly. Thank you for this informative video.

My white Charger came with a pink guard. My wife is a breast cancer survivor and loves the pink accent which is like the color badge for BC survivors.
You do know there are several ways to support breast cancer survivors right?? There's literally no reason to weaponize your wife as a means to justify your poor taste in aesthetics.

Agree 💯! They actually holds dirt and pebbles between the paint/splitter and when you drive the air moves the guard because it's not completely secured to the car and scratches the hell out of your vehicle. DON'T LEAVE THEM ON!
Just got a Pitch Black 2020 Challenger Scat Pack Widebody. Has the full length yellow splitter guard. I think it looks cool, everyone else I know likes it. Including a few classic muscle car owners. The splitter stays.
Just got the shaker in black and it just has the corner pieces I think it looks cool on the black so I'm leaving it on to

I have a newer Challenger & I would never leave those ugly pieces on, couldn't toss them in the trash fast enough but some love having excessive decals & extra crap all over their clean Dodge muscle cars. There's no accountability for taste today apparently.

Put thin pieces of foam between the guard and just take out the two push clips and once in a while wash under there. The damage will be less than the car without the guard. Look all depends on the driver.
Just got my challenger 2 days ago / guard is still on but I plan to take it off

I still have my splitter guards on after a year. I actually like the look and leave them on because everyone else takes theirs off...lol. I’m just wondering if I should take them off now because of the supposed damage it may cause.
If there were a good reason to take them off I feel thats a good one. They were only intended to prevent damage during shipping but over time do their own damage

Just bought a 19 Challenger Scatpack. The dealer said he left them on so that I could judge how low the splitter was in relation to a parking stop. It sounds like they are too lazy to take mine off. I’ll remove them

Just wrap the splitter instead. You're damaging it by leaving a piece on that's supposed to be removed.
@@ledenkmems2503 all my homies have the yellow splitter, it ads to the character to the car and ads color contrasting. These are one of the real last muscle cars and when they become rare in the near future some buyers are gonna want it with the yellow spiltters
We kept them on for about a week just till we got used to the fact that it’s there. Easy to remove.
To some they may be ugly. But most dont think that. And on the challenger, the front spider isn't painted just black plastic so

The yellow guards look good on the red cars.
Also if they change to purple guards people will only paint them to what ever colour they want.

I took mine to a paint shop to have it painted the same color as the splitter. They told me the material used wouldn’t hold paint, but they could wrap it in vinyl. I left it alone.

I have a 2023 R/T Challenger. I didn't know it was a trend or "in style". It came from the dealership that way so I left them on. Personally, I think they are ugly. Don't match the paint scheme at all. But I'm the type of guy that wants to leave it as factory original as possible. If the dealership is not going to remove them then neither am I. At the end of the day I don't really give a shit. The car still looks cool overall. And the fact that it's pissing people off is just an added bonus. There are way more important issues to get upset about than someone else's car that has some goofy modification to it like a super high spoiler or a big fat exhaust pipe opening or under carriage lights, or super tall rims with low profile tires etc. My car, my choice. Stop worrying about it.
I just bought the Kyosho Mini-z Challenger rc car and guess what. The yellow splitter guard is painted on to the bumper. Glad the dealer removed my when I bought my real challenger

If they are for shipping only why don't dealers take them off or ask if you want them taken off.
