Laurie H. Glimcher, M.D., a longtime member of the Cancer Research Institute Scientific Advisory Council, is the president and CEO of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, as well as the director of the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center and the Richard and Susan Smith Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. During her career as a distinguished immunologist that has seen her publish more than 350 papers, Dr. Glimcher has been inducted into many prestigious organizations, including the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. She has also received numerous awards, including the American Association of Immunologists Lifetime Achievement Award and the L'Oréal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science, and CRI’s William B. Coley Award.
In 2011, Sunshine Pegues was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Standard treatment at the time was chemotherapy followed by 35 days of radiation, which burned the skin on her neck and left her in more pain and skeptical about the advice of her health care team. She moved back to her hometown, Seattle, where she enrolled in two clinical trials. The second trial tested nivolumab (Opdivo), an anti-PD-1 immunotherapy, which stopped her cancer from progressing and eventually, caused it to become inactive.

@@CancerResearchInstitute how do I get my Doctor to look at immunotherapy, I have just been diagnosed with SSLC , and I truly believe that the immunotherapy can kill it.. I am in Stage 1-2. 2-3 Cm tumor, and only one and has not spread.
I lost voice box n thyroid , laryngectomy, pharyngectomy. Stage 4 throat cancer. 3 surgeries almost totaling 40 hrs of trying . Second surgery left a 25mm tumor in neck next to nerves and artery . Throat closed down even to water so a third surgery a Hail Mary . As Dr Richards told me . I/4 of left thigh from just above knee to just below hip joint down to the thigh bone the thigh muscle is rebuilding and getting stronger , wasn’t supposed to rebuild but it is . This was for total reconstruction some thing new . That was 7/14/2021 that was 16 hrs + I have skin from leg on my throat I see it every day . Oct 2021 started immunotherapy and quad shots of radiation and syber knife . All the research I did from coast to coast I was hearing about a cocktail ,cure , in Az was called imuno therapy.I’m out of options so I’m at Mayo Clinic as md Anderson had nothing to offer . My CTs from 4 weeks ago 0 tumors and no cancer . I also have tumor in left lung that’s shrinking . Skin cancers falling off as a drying rash . A blood draw then mix then cocktail is given back through iv 30 minutes and 10 min flush I felt so positive about the treatment and my surgeons look at me like I’m a ghost 👻. They say it’s me doin this ,, winning . I am getting over corona at this very minute . At least I’m strong enough to whip corona now . I know all other immunotherapy patients will be fine ,,, believe in your self , u can do this .

Would this work with a patient that has tnbc stage 3 with antiphospholipid syndrome?
My wife is a Platinum Resistant Recurrent Strong Ovarian Cancer patient and had gone through three Courses of Chemotherapy. Now the Doctors suggest to have Immunotherapy keeping in mind the PDL-1 mismatch, combined result of 20% positive. Your comments please.

What about for multiple myeloma? Would immunotherapy work for a blood cancer such as that? Dostarlimab? How close are they to an immunotherapy drug for multiple myeloma and why did they solve leukemia but not Multiple Myeloma? Thank you.

Hi, I am having immunotherapy treatment at the moment. Nivolumab. I am wondering what effects do the covid 19 vaccines have on patients who are also having immunotherapy. There has been some discussion that boosters and vaccines are harmful. How do they effect immunotherapy meds.
We do not have a covid-19 vaccination We do have an experimental drug for which we are being used as guinea pigs This is not opinion this is science because vaccination equals immunization That is to say if the coronavirus shots were vaccines everybody who got the shot could not get coronavirus insteadThey're getting it as much as anybody else actually 80% more
We cannot trust these people 70,000 Americans every year go to Mexico for drugsthat the US does not allow for fighting cancer and these are terminal patients they're going to die what differences does it make yet the form of industry does not allowthese medicines in the US
