The mum is overly controlling. This is how you make insecure, sneaky and unstable children. I usually love the parents in the series, but this is too much. These kids look terrified half the time, and exhausted the other.

I am so happy the American episodes are being put up finally. This was the beginning of the world's strictest parents. I was in high school when these episodes came out. This was around 2008-10 for the American ones. The memories come back seeing those phones and the emo looks. This makes me so nostalgic.

Basically the parents want to farm their kids off onto others, and have them fix the problems that they have caused in the first place by not disciplining their own kids.
I cant stand the mom in this episode. All she does is instigate the situations and escalate them. I agree you need to be firm but when they are doing the task you want them to, you need to leave them alone and let them do it. You dont need to stand there and pick at them. That blowup with the teen girl would have never happened had the mom just walked away and let the teen do the dishes. When the teen was finished and you see that it isnt done properly you show them and tell them where they went wrong CALMLY unless they give you attitude then you get loud and tough

Update on the teen club that the teens had to clean. The owner closed the club in 2010 after graffiti and Molotov cocktails were thrown at the club.

Kids shouldn’t be involved in helping their parents do THEIR job. If you’re going to treat your kids like employees, go all the way and pay them. Should kids learn responsibility? Yes. They can do that by helping run the home and then later going out to earn their own money. But as the parent of kids under 18, it’s your responsibility to go to work and do your job. Kids aren’t responsible for helping pay your bills. Your child’s job is getting an education and doing well at school.
You forget kids who work in family businesses without payment because they had to do so after school.

This is my favorite episode. Mom was not going to tolerate the nonsense. BUT... I do believe the older daughter should have more privacy. With that said, it's harder because the older daughter could run away with some creep who's flattering her on the internet. So it's not so easy to juggle that fine line between privacy and protection.

I absolutely LOVE this mother. No nonsense. She wasn't having any of it. I, however, would not have taken rebellious teens into my house with my own children there. When that girl cursed her out in front of her daughter, I was done. Why traumatize the child? How do you think it made the little girl feel having somebody yell at her mother like that? Don't get me wrong, Mama could handle herself. She went toe to toe with the teenager, however, the children having to see and hear this is something that I don't think should have been allowed.
