@@marioquark7940 that doesnt make it a bad operating system - it's just Virtualbox hasn't optimised their software for it. It was a lot more stable & reliable than XP until SP2 & it really was a step forward for Microsoft & Windows.
XP was garbage up until SP2, and even then it was still very bloated. It's nowhere near the best operating system; if anything, Windows 95 is more up there.

On old windows versions prior to xp you just press on the cancel button and you access the computer and everything without password
I love Windows XP. It is the wonderful operating system I grew up with. I still have the desktop that is almost as old as me (I am 15) and was the whole family computer until like 5 years ago when it was given to me. The sound card doesn't work anymore, but that is only because I was messing around with the internal parts and wasn't careful. I remember hearing the Windows XP startup and shutdown sounds every time I used it. I miss windows xp.

Well dell monitors normally have that round logo on the front at the bottom. Reason I say compaq is the newer ones have a grayish front bezel
I don't think it's an hp because they have rounded corners. I'm starting to think it's a dell m99- series monitor that was painted gray on the front. I have one and it looks identical but it's all black.

Mine monitor had some fog effects on screen and when I hit monitor, fog disappeared so hitting may solve some problems
Personally, I think Windows 98 is a great operating system... when it is, anyway. It's worked smoothly for me most of the time. Just don't run it on a 486.

Windows 98 was definitely a decent machine. Besides I have a 486 computer that runs windows 95 and dos 6.22, and these were definitely good old childhood days back in the 90s. Definitely a lot better than this windows 10 or windows 11 crap.

I have a gaming Windows XP laptop, the games it plays is Touhou, Roblox (runs real bad) and Minecraft (it runs at 60fps single player and 40fps multiplayer) and i use vista with it sometimes, Minecraft then runs at 40fps single player and 29fps multiplayer.

Windows XP was a huge success. A lot of businesses still use it today. Windows 98 was great for gaming those days, and Windows 2000 was pretty much the only one you could call a piece of junk. I don't think you know how to use computers properly, too.
