Amazing job. This is Diamond version right? Do you find that the extra mic positions are worth the extra over gold? There really are no demos on yt comparing the different mic positions . But I'm assuming that the close full sound you are getting is unatainable with gold due to single mid mic position.
Thank you for the feedback. Yes this is the diamond edition. I don't think think the diamond edition will make anything sound more realistic, it just gives you more choice in the starkness (or lack of) with each instrument. In this mix it's Strings = Close, Mid, Main. Winds = Mid & Main. Brass = Main & Surround. Perc = Main & Surround.
@@AndrewBarracloughComposer Thanks for the reply .Perhaps they don't add more "realisim" per se. But would you agree that the mics let more "detail " shine through?
@@AndrewBarracloughComposer Suprised to hear you're not using the Vintage mics anywhere. They're my absolute favorites for the brass since they have a sort of close-wide effect. I especially love the a3 trumpets on the vintage mics because they've got that crisp, close bite there whereas on the horns they add a really nice sense of space. What are your go to mics for the trombones? I find those to be the toughest to make sound pleasing because they're not very powerful in the bottom and have a metallic blare to the sound at ff. Did you do any mixing work afterward? Or is this just mics and some verb? I'm pretty deep into the whole EW orchestra (it's my goto for over 3 years and I actually read the manuals, lol) but always keen to learn more from other users who know what they're doing, if you can afford the time :) Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
Wow, that is a stunning result! I have Hollywood Gold myself and I am quite happy with it. I'd love to know which sample patches you used for the strings, woodwinds and brass, and/or what you did to them to make them sound as good as they do!
Thank you. I am sorry I can't list them all, very busy at the moment. But a quick run down from memory is... Brass Marcato Long/Short, Staccato, Staccatissimo, Sustain. Strings Legato/Sustain. Woodwind Legato/Sustain.
East West Hollywood Orchestra is very bright and crisp out of the box, it's very clean and bright! Suits the piece quite well. Unless you mean the sharpness of the Brass? in which case I adjust the attack and release controls to suit the music.
Very beautiful for a masterpiece! 🏆
WHAT A REALISTIC SOUND!
You're awesome man
Could you PLEASE do a tutorial?
Very nice indeed! I have these VSTs as part of my ComposerCloudX subscription and I love just how versatile they are!
You should make tutorials! Man! Come on! People would pay for it! :)
Thank you for your interest. Much appreciated.
Really well sounding! Well done! I already have bought Hollywood Brass and Strings but I'm going to buy Woodwinds and Percussion too.
A Frickin’ Masterpiece!!!!!!!
Amazing! I think you have some secret orchestra at home, but to hide it you say you use EWQL

@@thespymawsta Absolutely they do.

Nice Job! Are you using a particular recording as a reference? If so, which one?
Thanks. I'd say mainly this one ua-cam.com/video/CNv_CXi5TUw/v-deo.html

How do you get it to sound so CRISP?

@@AndrewBarracloughComposer Thanks for the tip! Yeah I like the clean and bright nature of East West especially at the higher velocities.
yup

You could've used the 2009 Fox logo for this cover, but you did a nice job on the fanfare.
