I've got a 6000 sq ft log home with 9" logs and thought our home was big. Geeeesh! Thanks for the video... gives me some ideas for mine! If you're thinking of a log home, make sure that you're aware of the maintenance required for such an investment. But believe me, IT'S WORTH IT!
Now do you Build from foundation up and interior or just the home please comment back thank you very much for this video what a gorgeous home even the yard is beautiful Please let me know thank you
How many bedrooms are in this home in bathroom and does it have a garage how many cars park please comment back this is a absolutely gorgeous gorgeous home thank you for this video I appreciated it would like to know what something like this would cost to build yes like this one thank you very much again
Well Douglas...plenty of low class rich folks out there...but the real deal is that every time a rich persons buys something like this or private Jet it puts 100's if not 1000's of folks like me and you to work. Be thank full we live in a place that has this system, don't let the liberal left turn us into a socialist country when no one has money, except the government. I love the USA and things like this make me so proud to be American. Great Houses, something to work toward.
+RandomActUpMedia I am not American I am British and I can say that America is an amazing country where anybody could make it. Liberal left are trying to change this and their reason is that they want to destroy economies so they can ride in on their big socialist horse.
Why is it that I cannot find this on your website, How is this possible, you build this beautiful Log Home and You do not even show it on your web site!
Don, the point is that this is their family home. They love entertaining, cooking, having lots of guests and having enough space for their family to enjoy both the inside and outside.
It seems to me that all the silly or wise crack remarks, are probably made by some very jealouse people ......It really IS a very beautiful log home....one that any sincere person would really love to own....And by the way, that is a lovely tune to go with the video.....starman
Get real! If you live where I live the cost of living vs income doesn't match up. It's generally the DINKS (double income no kids) that get homes of this magnitude in this country. Plus the Alpines here are not littered with beautiful log homes specifically because of the cost. That's a 720sqm high spec home with a build cost of around $2.1m. Land can go from $260k to $2.5m, then there's land development costs etc... I would have to work 80 - 90 hours a week on my income just to get a 30% deposit within 8 years AND then I would have to work a further 30 hours a week on top of the 90 just to service the mortgage! Like I said, it's a lotto windfall that would get me into the likes of such a home.
!+Douglas Shield, get off the soapbox, and dream about it! Personally, I'm playing the lotto, if I win, I will have one like this but I humble enough to live on a log cabin that is only 1000 sq ft!
bighands69, yes, I know that, but I'm disabled so my choices are limited. But boy, I'm excited. I could sell my house and I would be liquid, because I builted my home with cash!!
It is a shame that a beautiful log home is built with such small logs, 8 inch logs will not meet the new 2009 energy codes. What type of wood was used?
Oh I love wood, & to be surrounded by it in a home like this... very nice, & spacious too. There isn't much I would change about this house. The first things I would toss would be all of the decapitated dead stuffed animals hanging on the walls; & any table with antler legs would be replaced as well. Also, NO nasty carpet anywhere in this house. Area rugs only. I'm not sure anyone really needs 7800 sq feet; geeze, what would the taxes be on this little cottage ? But if you've got the green...
Most beautiful log home in America... No. But, it is nice, and the landscaping is what really makes this place nice. It is more of an average log home, from all the ones that I have seen.
but how to clean upper big windows easily ?? What tipe of heating system is used in this house in order to keep it warm through winter time without spending a loooooot fo money for that purpose??? It looks like this house is only for those, who have much more money like the house has wood :-) ...
Bob. Agreed on the roofing. Asphalt is great. In Whistler, The log houses have a mix. Cedar or slate looks better but is not as good. Guaranteed. Especially when there is a roof leak. Being a stone mason and roofer, one thing that bothers me on these big projects that the stone work looks veneered. Do you remember the show Ponderosa. Copy this style and you have it perfect. Look at that the pioneers fireplaces compared to now. The beauty and soul is truly missing. A Fakee.
To be clear I was perhaps more referring to the 7800 square feet home rather than the material used that seems exaggerated by the use of fine lumber used here. The shear size requires the need for redundant engineering and appears to use more material that 7 modest homes at 1100 sq feet.
Way too big for me. Nothing against people who dream of a sprawling a mansion like this with *everything* but I can’t even conceive of the dusting involved, to choose just one aspect! I don’t like all the deer heads on the walls either. I would totally dig a log cabin or cottage but it would have to small and very cosy - overstuffed sofas and chairs everwhere; pillows and blankets (throws), and a couple of hearths as the centerpieces. Nice modern rustic kitchen and bathrooms could all have a lighter wood or even tile theme for contrast, but the main gathering room would be darker, knotty wood, dimly lit, again with a large fireplace to create light and flickering shadows. Perfect for storytelling. Bedroom same distressed wood, snug and full of nice little touches like recessed soft lighting one could read by, or dim further for relaxing, to off for sleeping. Kitchen would have baker’s rack, spice rack, a generous pantry. And so one. I would want something just the right size - not cramped, not bigger than I need. But everything in it would be unique, charming, interesting. And as practical as it was beautiful. I wouldn’t want a showpiece home.
Sorry ... but it looks like a "Cabela's" outdoor store! If you're going to build a "gated community palace", why bother with logs and not just use the typical plastic siding? Where's the rustic warmth and coziness, the invitation to touch one's heritage? For me, a log home should invite the outdoors, indoors ... other than what you might carry in on your shoe.
Beautiful! The architects that designed this home are masters. What beauty!
It is a beautiful log home indeed. Great landscaping and nice interior design.
This home does not disappoint! Fabulous! Yes it does keep those master wood wizards, like my spouse, working.

It truly is a beautiful home. I would love to have one like it.
there isn't a single thing about this place that makes me think of a log cabin
this home is absolutely magnificent.
I saw the title and said, "Yeah, let's see." Now, having seen the video, I'll say it's certainly "one of the most beautiful I've seen."
Lovely home! It deserves our waters surrounding it.

Don, the point is that this is their family home. They love entertaining, cooking, having lots of guests and having enough space for their family to enjoy both the inside and outside.

All you need to add to the front is a bronze elk and you have another Cabelas store because thats what it looks like.
Oh to have the money for such beauty. I need to buy a lotto ticket
+Ainoko NZ
If you work hard you could achieve it. The question is how ard are you willing to work.

Is the logs sealed with a varnish or left natural?
*Beautiful! But where is the fireplace?

What is the name of the instrumental that played? Absolutely beautiful.
...wooooooh!
Get R Done : } now I lay my head down to sleep and dream of trees and tools 11:47 pm
Very lovely, but too big for me! I wouldn't want to have to clean that! Lol I know, hire someone... Maybe if I won the lotto. Lol
!+Douglas Shield, get off the soapbox, and dream about it! Personally, I'm playing the lotto, if I win, I will have one like this but I humble enough to live on a log cabin that is only 1000 sq ft!

You can always extend the cabin if you work hard.
bighands69, yes, I know that, but I'm disabled so my choices are limited. But boy, I'm excited. I could sell my house and I would be liquid, because I builted my home with cash!!
Can anybody tell me where this place is located and how much does it cost for a week or weekend.
Can you please tell me the name of the song being played with this video? It's lovely, and I'd like to learn it myself.
This is beautiful and all but the most beautiful true log homes are from pioneer log homes of bc. Now they build true unmilled log homes
I don't even know why I posted that I must of been up too late or was sleeping then woke up too early.
It is a shame that a beautiful log home is built with such small logs, 8 inch logs will not meet the new 2009 energy codes. What type of wood was used?
I wouldn't consider a "real log home" when they use manufactured logs. It looses the rustic and authentic look.
How much is it to buy one of these?
When there is a forest fire, I will be laughing.
wow
Ovo je kicheraj do koske!!!

Now that im getting old...all I see is alot to clean....
Most beautiful log home in America... No. But, it is nice, and the landscaping is what really makes this place nice. It is more of an average log home, from all the ones that I have seen.
Oops i dropped a candle...
but how to clean upper big windows easily ??

Gorgeous, but I don'teven wanna know the price of that..

Beautiful....but where's the fireplace? A massive chimney but no shot of the fireplace? tsk tsk.

De donde será su fuente de agua el principal problema de todo el valle, por lo que se ve, ocuparán muchísima.
How much is this log house
Don't hold a stick to Pioneer log homes. They are the best period.
Location?
That would be a nightmare to maintain!!
I hope all that wood came from an FSC-certified forest.
Vulgar new money. A log cabin is suppose to be small, fairytale-like, cozy and intimate in the middle of a forest.
MANILABOY6631 exactly!
thats not a home, its a museum
I bet whoever owns this doesnt even live there full time
el sueño de mi vida
Wow, beautiful, but what's the point?!
What is the name song?
it's beautiful but PETA would have a field day burning it down...
How much
It needs about 25% stone covered surfaces. Not quite the best in America but nice for sure.
pff only 8 inch logs?
@SecretTrollAccount1 ...only tuxedo :-) :-) hehe
what color stain is that, Anyone?
it just isn't a log home unless you build it yourself
It's not a log home unless u see snow and mountains.
Sorry ... but it looks like a "Cabela's" outdoor store! If you're going to build a "gated community palace", why bother with logs and not just use the typical plastic siding? hello person
1:25 lower RH corner
I'd love it but my mother wouldn't. She hates anything even remotely " rustic" Even outdoor barbecues.'
Beautiful home - just a waste of resources to be in Georgia instead of Wyoming though...
It is very nice, but far from the most beautiful.
OMG WHAT THE
it's to big and expensive to be Most Beautiful Log Home
The inside all looks the same, imagine trying to walk through that wasted. just be going in circles lol
