Thanks. Yeah it was, I cut out a lot of me cranking it over as well. When I had my series 3 as a daily I used to crank start it. It would always start on the first revolution and was quite easy.
Hi , good stuff, I have a 51 also early 51 grille like yours...it's still going, The fuel pump should purr then stop when the carby is primed. The idle speed up a bit makes easier starting... The starter coupling can be welded up when it fails until a good replacement can be found. Cheers.. Andrew
I was taught never to wrap my thumb around crank handle , keep it beside your index finger that way if the crank kicks suddenly it won’t break your thumb
got a 1949 headlight behind the grill that im going to start restoring really soon. nice to see a few others getting around still.
Very nice. The earlier the better
It's alive!!!! great work Smurf. Sounds pretty bloody good. I am so jealous of you having this car.
Thanks. I can't wait to see what you do with that 107 S/W
@@LandySmurf Ha yer, its a big project, I want to keep it pretty much 'standard'
@@VintageRestorationsAustralia It will be worth it in more ways than one when it is finished.
Nice start!! Lots of effort with the handle.

Thanks I will keep this in mind
The ignition should be off for tbe first 3 turns, then position the handle near the top,
And use 1 hand to do 1 fast turn.
Is there an episode four for this vehicle ?
There will be one day. I have been busy with a few other land Rovers. I am currently deciding whether to continue with this or the forward control
After ignition on again
Mechanical fuel pump?
My ‘51 is reluctant however...(petrol pump) 😞
I have a copy of the factory setup for the SU fuel pump if you need it, I can email it
