Very interesting
Your Brake lines should go on the outside of the support plates on your axle. The limit straps run behind the plate to keep them away from your brake lines. Looks great, can’t wait to see the finished project 👍🏻
Thanks Matt, we cant wait to get her finished too!
I have noticed that nearly every restorer is unaware that to revove a drum
with bad wear and stuck shoes, only has to be released by..
Loosening the wheel cyl mounting bolts and the brake anchor nut.
You do not have to cut the drum off.
Yes that is why you need more skill than one work through on a No.10 Meccano set .It would have been a little hard cutting the drums off a 12 year old very worn and used LR in the middle of Africa say 1960 with no electricity let alone a small hand grinder.unless of course that old Landrover had compressor or generator set up but really !
Great progress both, looking forward to seeing this old girl drive under her own power. Hope you managed to find and sort out the gremlins in the electronics? Keep up the great work. 😎👍
Thanks buddy, we're definitely working in the right direction! She should be driving soon enough!
@@SyncroGearboxes Fantastic, fingers cross her first drive goes to plan.
Hey guys, would love an update on this project - how's it going? Cheers!
Its still here, but with so much going on we're struggling to find time to get her done. Hopefully through the late summer we'll have a bit of time to get the last bits done and dusted!
So, what you're saying Shabs. A lot of parts were knackered? 😄
a few 😂😂🙈
parabolics are a poor sub for original road springs.I have worked on LR's for 53yrs They suited a Ford Transit MK1 but they never ever as good as an original set up on serris LR! either too soft, too hard, wrong ride height ,not quite centered bushes to hard not handed correctly etc etc.
Thanks for the insight Simon. I'll let you know how we get on once this project is complete.
Your title is confusing because there were ev axles aswell, maybe only for the rear
Yeah i guess we should have put a full stop after the main title. Land Rover Series 1 EV. Axles:...
Did you find many knackered parts? 😂 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Knackered, bro, knackered 😂😂😂
