You know you're good when you can make people laugh both in France and in the States
and Morocco.
Nour Serghini and algeria
and Montreal Canada :)
And Quebec.
This American Life did a FASCINATING story about him and what it means to be, in France, the BIGGEST comic -- on a Chris Rock or Louis CK kind of level selling out arenas for millions of Euros -- and then in the States being almost a nobody. Was so interesting.
Glad to discover this guy. I can’t imagine how good he has to be in french. Sah quel plaisir
😂😂 une tuerie
😂😂😂😂😂👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
😹😹
Oh my god, he brought that french comedic sense to the US, génial!
***** I'm talking about french mannerisms and language play.
dude, stop the bullshit, carlin's fans were mostly liberal, ck the same thing, burr isn't as anti-pc as the laters...so yea...the most anti-pc people are liberals...just don't equate liberal with sjw.
also gad is a french stand up comedian, he did comedy in french not arabic...being morroccan and jewish means nothing...move on...
Anno Nyme - French PC police won't allow it? Don't you believe that it's maybe about styles? Gad is a good comedian and has a light style which is "foreigners are funny". The same way that Louis CK has his "worst of humanity/I hate myself" humor, or Carlin had his "political commentary/sociological" style.
It's called styles of comedy.
You want a gad jokes style. Ho! ha kou, keep Kool, ho! ha kou, ha Kuna maTata. Funny? Maybe once... Or if you re 9 y.o
Ha Kou come on ! I'm french and He can't even steal a smile from me with his french material... this one was so much better than anything he has done lately...
He's even better in French.
Not in english , he look good .
Mapuata Eric disagree. Performance was a solid 7.5/10.
Ikr, he makes me laugh SOOO MUCH in french.
He made the exact same show in French, so IDK what you're talking about.
He just means that when Gad performs in his mother tongue he is a notch better. Honestly I have been a fan of Gad ever since his debut and was intrigued to see how he would perform in front of an english speaking audience and I have to admit he made me laugh just as much as he does in his French shows. So here's one word that means the same in both french and english that can easily describe Gad. Talent!
“I mean I won’t stop, but.... Imagine!” Hahaha and his gestures with the encore were perfect
Never thought about the "I'm down" "I'm totally up for it" "I'm in" thing. Fascinating.
it's because that's your language since I learned English I noticed so many things really no sense to me but there are things I say in French who should be uncorrect to say but for us that's totally means something. Of course you're fascinated because when that's your language you think it's totally normal.
Phrasal verbs
Dat Moroccan accent when he speaks Hindi, priceless.
hahahaha noticed that too!
Hey ΜΙΧΑΛΗΣ ΜΙΧΑΗΛΙΔΗΣ, i think you're confusing Moroccans with the Muslim religion!
ΜΙΧΑΛΗΣ ΜΙΧΑΗΛΙΔΗΣ omg do you have the brain of a bird ? I know he is a jew but his nationally is moroccon.
He was born in morocco whether you like it or not he is moroccan.
Again stop being so jealous and accept the truth.
Stupid zaonist fuck.
Btw im not ganna respond to you anymore ur just a sad troll.
ΜΙΧΑΛΗΣ ΜΙΧΑΗΛΙΔΗΣ don't u know that jew is a religion and moroccan is a nationality ? Sorry That was so stupid to pretend like i don't care
ΜΙΧΑΛΗΣ ΜΙΧΑΗΛΙΔΗΣ i'll say no more i can't hurt u more Hahahahaha
Hey, hold on! He's not done! What about the encore?
I was thinking the same thing xD
encore = again
No, Encore = More
Malik Ben, Greg Morot both of you are right
Yeah you're right in some cases you can translate again to encore, like if somebody does something and you want him to do it "again", you can say "encore" in French, so you're just asking for "more"
Most people would think you only really conquer a language once you can "get" their jokes. This guys must be ridiculously funny in french if he had me laughing out loud and english isn't even his native language. Colbert never dissapoint with the selection of comedians on his show
Lee Rodriguez for me who understands both languages...he is the best all time.
In french, it's another thing, because he sometimes takes his moroccan accent... hilarious :D
He was huge in France 15-20 years ago
Arabic is his native language : )
@@roch8593 15/20 years ago? he is still huge atm, bigger than the other french comedians
It means "She's too young!"
That was funnyyyyy😂😂😂
That's the point "MissMuzikLover" I have a feeling you are also too young! 😂😂😂 _how you doin?_
That you Joey ? 😉
i didn't get that part what does dope mean?
It's because the friend is saying that the girl's slang is too hip for either of them, so she must be young, is how I heard it. Hope this helps :-)
Free2BeYou i get it now thaank you
I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard ... KFC airport lol!!!
iPhone tower hahahaja
steve down
Haha 😅😂😂
With the iphone tower he should've said "im not dumb I understood what he meant ! I've taken him to the nearest apple store ! with a straight face
@@stevedown8166 iphone Towel 😂😂😂😂
secular humanist McDonald’s airport lol 😂
hahah im down means im up for it and im in means id like to go out... i never noticed how confusing it can be for people learning the language
It's because french people traduce the language words by words ^^
translate* not traduce
If he's down how can he be up ? I'm out of this... I mean, I want to be in but I'm out... H FUCK
Lukas are you a jewish boy?
He knows that.. he's just playing with words for humour purpose : )
For the subtitles at 02:54, he said "MONOLOGUE" and not "Monday log".
It's an automatic subtitle generated by a machine
french, arabic, english, no matter the language, gad is gad 😂
mwhhd موحد i was just about to say that! People don’t even know that Hebrew is actually his first language.
yeah gad id gad... a rogue..... a joke thief, you want more?
he is israeli his native language is hebrew.
Nicole isaac Moroccan, born in Morocco to Israeli-Moroccan parents. But you are correct Hebrew was his first language spoken at home.
@@ns2110theonly i am also israeli myself and also have moroccan and spanish background. But at the end of the day we are now jews from israel but when i meet people i never say i am half moroccan and half spanish. I say i am israeli because that is what I am.
Gosh that was fantastic...his facial expressions and enthusiasm make this even better😂❤️
the last joke that was cleverly hilarious Good Job Gad.
he took a huge risk by starting from the bottom in USA and he's the number 1 comedian in France and Morocco so happy for him
Heard about Gad on This American Life. Incredible guy. Left French superstardom to begin at the bottom in NYC. He had to learn English and then learn how to be funny in this new language.
He didn't leave anything, he still does shows etc. in France. This American adventure of his is genius though because in France most people would agree that his material has gotten stale.
He went to McGill University in Montreal, Canada, so he must have spoken English to some degree before anyway.
Your thumbnail looks like you're crying wiping away your tears.
It's also a picture of Rihanna what's your point?
He makes me so proud of being Moroccan 🇲🇦❤️
Observational comedy can be funny and Gad is quite good at it.
funny you have a word for it "observational comedy", that's like 99% of comedy shows in France
That fact that Gad challenged himself to being funny in English as he is in French is just outstanding. Never seen anything like it and i admire him more for that. Keep it up Gad!
“ Ok guys imagine you are in France... well I won’t stop... but let’s imagine” this is soooo accurate I am crying 😂😭
Haha this 5 minute segment is better than the entirety of his latest French show with Kev Adams
It's like having Michael Jackson and Hitler standing next to each other.
1*-1=-1
Kev is a really really good actor but i dislike him as humorist but Gad is a really really good humorist
Come one the show with kev was great !
Moroccans everywhere 👌
And so what? where's the problem with that!
You didn't get the point ;)
He is a jew
zo62 but still moroccan ,we're talking about nationality not religion .
zo62 no need to insult you are only proving your stupidity
encore !
Nari nari chkon ban 😂😂
hhhhhhh Chaouki, afeen, Gad mcha l3Alamia, l3o9ba l3andk
Quoi encore ?!
I'm so so so so so happy you made it the US Gad!! Been always a fan whether you speak French or English. Much love!
And Donald Trump wants foreigners out! This guy can stay!
In fact he's a Jewish Moroccan, and he rocks :)
Funny to assume he is muslim just because of his name! In fact he is jewish, but does someone care? In France, we think his talent is enough!! :)
Juan Rodriguez said Juan Rodriguez lmao
+Poipoi Lailai Actually he has a Jewish name. In Morocco Gad is considered a jewish name, Jad is the "muslim" version of it.
Probably too subtle for most american people!! :)
Mariam Ozma bien Sur 😂
pile poil et mariam vous etes marriez?
I had so much fun with this clip. He's great! Laughed so hard.
He makes me so proud of being french !!
Real Chipmunk hez Moroccan by the way !!! Just French naturalized 😬
Hedi Benmbarek I know that he's moroccan but I thought he also had the french nationality, doesn't he ?
Real Chipmunk yeah but he is Moroccan not French
Katala casaverde Yes but he also has the french nationality therefore he is both.
Real Chipmunk yeah cool .
I remember hearing about how he was coming to the u.s. to try and make it here and how he was struggling initially. he is clearly Superior in terms of its stagecraft to most of the people who appear on this show. Chapeau!
He has Moroccan humor and brought it to France.
He is Jewish
Not authentic moroccan
@@1158supersiri This makes absolutely no sense moroccans can be jewish
@@1158supersiri what does jewish do with his origine .
@@1158supersiri thats stupid to think. Jews are like 3000 years in Morocco. So he is full Moroccan. Also born and raised in Morocco
Who cares if your eyes are green.
Elmaleh was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Being a Moroccan Sephardic Jew,[1] Gad Elmaleh was brought up in a culturally diverse environment, speaking Moroccan Arabic, Hebrew, English and French
Vive la France
It's crazy cuz my grandparents are Sephardic Jews from there too and speak Moroccan Arabic, Hebrew and French, I didn't realize he's exactly the same, but "Gad" is Jewish name so now I realize
man u are Amazing we have been watching u since south Africa in french and today with ur french accent and the way u make people loling is Amazing. courage Gad
I did not expect Gad to be funny in English. I had the pleasure to watch him live a decade ago, when I lived in Quebec. Well done GAD!
His english is getting better, he starts to actually sound like normal Gad in french.
I was waiting for the ENCORE at the end..!
that would have been dope
they were out
the comedian of my childhood. im glad he keeps trying in america for the hell of it . love seeing new material from here, as i already know every sketch of him by heart 😂
I love the different take and style.
He's hilarious.
He steals jokes from american , canadian , french , and algerian comedians for a living ua-cam.com/video/NHOovVnvh9k/v-deo.html
@@aminesuleiman8336 we don't care about that 21st century internet generation bullshit making buzz over nothing new... People have done this kind of things and copying each other over generations, whether it is music, literature, stand up comedy or cinema... anyways he's got some really good skills in acting and making people laugh. that's all what counts
He is discusting.. Im from quebec and i heard those shits before
I remember 7 or 8 years ago, someone gave me the copies of all his shows in France. I did not know him. I was living and working in a country where it was easy to get depressed; but my treat to myself was to listen to Gad every evening, a little at a time, just like you savour a good dish ( I'm french by the way). The guy has a keen sense of observation. He does not pick up on you to make fun at you, no, he tells you the small things in life that him and you are going through, and his secret is to amplify them, and you recognize yourself in them or in situations you have been.
If he is as good in english as he is in French, the guy will be immortal!
We need a guy like this one to show us a bit of blue sky in our grey world.
He is the best! Le meilleur! A lot of jealous people try to kill his career in France but we still support him. Because he is so good
T trop bien Gad, bravo!!!! 😘
Oh my god - Gad Elmaleh - my Moroccan brother - on Stephen Colbert :o !!! Awesome !!
This was in my feed and finally watched it brilliant thank you 😊
Great set! Gonna have to look him up.
Please continue Letterman's tradition of having Brian Regan on frequently! Also, this comedian was hilarious! Love the variety you bring on here.
Trop fort Gad💪👍👏...... C'est notre Gad et on l'aime 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍... Bravo Gad💋💋💋💋💋
Great set! Wish I could see his entire show
I know it's been 4 years since you commented, but his Stand up called 'American Dream' is on Netflix and it's so good. This whole segment is from that show/ vice versa. He also made a show called Huge In France. It's ridiculous and hilarious, i binged it on Netflix all in one day when it came out.Gad is multi talented in multiple languages, on multiple continents- mega goals !!
Love this guy so much! Can't wait to go to see him in Carnegie Hall!!
Hahaha he went from "Bryan is in the kitchen" to THIS
Quel beau parcours :))
I love your comment mdr
Gad tu assuruuures!!! You guys in US are lucky to have Gad Among you, he's our favourite Comedian. We love him from Casablanca to NYC!!!! Love you GAD!!!! rak merdi lwalidin ;-)
best one ever to appear on the late show
5:15 "Would be dope" .... the way he said it with his neck was hilarious. hehe
Belle performance. Bravo !
Brilliant! Excellent in french, even better in English, considering the work behind! Priceless
hes funny as hell
Moroccans show up
Is he Moroccan? His name confused me lol
Canadian Maroccan and French 3 nationality
***** Awesome!
he is moroccan born of moroccan parents but was granted the french and canadian nationalities
you and i are like my buttcheeks after all the shit that goes between us we always get back together no dear french and moroccan citizenship only canada has laws that doesn't allow you to have more than 2 . He is not Canadian
Priceless
Gad is a genius in French but with this clip I KNOW he's getting there in English!!!! Laughed so hard
Trop fière de lui!!!
Only Gad can make laugh en both languges French and English, he is great😘😘
Hanane Chinoume I don't think he would make u laugh if he was supporting Israel. He is a ihoudi though
Man, what a cool comedian! I love his voice!
So proud of him! He is so talented in French AND in English
Slow start but those last two bits were clever. He's so right about encores..
millerhxc The down and up part was brilliant
well done ...
he's amazing 😂😂😂
we love him in french and he's so funny in english too!
I'm so proud right now ahah!!! He's the funniest. I'm so happy I get to share him with my english speaking friends!!!!
he is moroccan! a moroccan fellow in my favorite show!
promo maroc promo maroc i'm moroccan
promo maroc promo maroc he s french stfu
He is not moroccan you moron
Maybe he born there, thats it. His origin arent maroccan
Boud Graham don’t be rude. He was born in Morocco and is a French, Moroccan Canadian
He makes me proud of beign moroccan :)....
That was awesome .
i saw him the first time on comedian in cars getting coffee. he is a true comedian to be able to dfo it in another language and be funny like this.
Good work Gad Looove from Morocco :D
Bravo mec !
Excellent
Omg I love him so much, been a while since I saw him performing
His show on Netflix is just amazing
Always so funny! Love you Gad. You are even killing it in french
I feel really proud as a french person, he is so funny in french and I didn't know he spoke english so well ! I guess that's what we call talent 😍
great work Gad. maghribi akhouya in your expressions. love it.
Wow, I would never have expected Gad to perform on the Stephen's late show. His body language is far from being close to what you can expect from his french performances though, but this will come in due time, I guess :) Bonne continuation Gad!
f****ng awesome!
really sencing his moroccon roots here fk love this guy
he's really getting it... i remember seeing him early on trying to figure out comedy in America
he's really got it now
Hahaha holy shit, one of the better comedians to come on this show omg XD
It's great to see he got the translations of comedy of north american comedy. I heard a podcast where he chronicled his transition and it wasn't easy.
I LOVE hearing of people of different cultures interacting and hearing their experiences of who said what when it was obviously interestiny for both sides bc each one probably thought the other was being weird. And we can all laugh over our differences, which are not as different as they seem. We need to bond over cultural differences more and fight less. All our cultures are a beautiful thing. peace & love to you all.
I'm pretending to want more of this guy. +1
I'm pretending to agree with you. +1
very nice guy great presence
i hope he continues his act in america
He steal jokes
His confidence is amazing
Great set. I like the part apart encores. I've seen some musicians very poorly convey the idea that they didn't know they were going to do an encore.
I used to watch Gad Elmaleh on TF1...
Bravo Gad tu es le meilleur humoriste 😅😅
Wooow the guy is wonderful
So nice!!!
