Quartz Test Level Using Dorians Run

- Here's an example of Quartz in action.
The Dorian's Run music has an Intro + Main Loop + Ending; it has a 3 variation Melodic Stinger theme that plays on the 3rd beat of the bar; it has a drum hit stinger that has a one beat drum roll and plays on any 1/8th note quantization; and finally, it has high and low activity layers for the Intro, Main Loop, Ending, as well as the Melodic Stingers.
I use this music to test the User Experience of creating an interactive music system since it demonstrates a lot of game audio fundamental elements of a music system (Vertical Slices, Horizontal Layers, and Timed Stingers).
Hope it provides a useful demonstration. Thanks!
idk who Erin is but I'm glad he asked
It's Aaron McLeran, a.k.a. the MacDaddy of the Unreal Engine audio system
I love the little chuckles 😁😁😁😁
Oh such goodness and potential !! I'm really glad Epic teams bring these tools to us musician gamedevs !! Please keep'em coming !!
This is amazing! I'm downloading 4.26 now just to try this out :'D thank you for the demo! I've subscribed to see more :)
this is so freakin sick, started exploring this after I saw a fortnite tweet about Quartz
For sure, Quartz is the essential feature that makes the core of any custom music system you'd want to build. It's an audio scheduler and you can create clocks using musical timings, so you can play sounds on music quantization boundaries.
This is great, well done! Love building adaptive music... 🎧💙👍
stunning. this is so cool :D
the drum hit's epicness > jump animation. :D love the timing!
Thats great work
Thanks!
was here 10 month ago, still think that its stunning and cool. :D
Ha awesome!!!
This is so cool! Could you please share your project files or do blueprint look video?
SOOO AWESOME!!! CAN YOU PLEASE SHARE THE BLUEPRINT?
Thanks for the video! Do you hava a plan for a tutorial Quartz+ UE5? Can't find any information, unfortunately
Mostly the difference is fixes and some small features/updates. Like scheduling BPM changes, etc.
Hey Dan - great work!! Wondering what method you were using to bring in the 'high energy' music loop when running? Is that also using Quartz to time playing that loop along with the base loop? Or just crossfading between 2 simultaneously playing loops? Thanks!
