This will make you sad. Your experience at KEH is the way every good camera store used to be. Buying a camera was a different experience back in the day. Congratulations, and thanks for the great video! I love your pictures, by the way.
The notches on the top left of the frame (horizontal shots) indicate to me that your camera has seen pro use in its life. Usually these were put there to let the photo dept know which photographer to credit or which camera to service if there were problems with the images by the different patterns on the edge of the frame. I have two F3s, great camera. Remember some spare batteries.
Ooooh, I was wondering why those were there! I wasn’t mad about it haha. I love them actually, but it is so interesting. Thank you!!!
Thanks for the explanation! I was wondering why there were notches :)
@berniecram8347 Can you explain how the notches are etched into the camera?
@@theraven6836As I remember they, either the photographer or the camera department, used to file these notches into the edge of the film gate
@@ashleycarr2899 Thank you. I didn't know this before.
A camera that feels so natural to you is truly the best. Loved the walking section🫶🏽and the photos of just people enjoying their day
The whole section of you tooling around the city and shooting is fantastic. It felt calming to watch. I know how much effort goes into filming yourself shooting like that, and it just came across like a lovely day with some great shots.
Hope you're doing well 😊
this hits hard. thank you ⚡️
Bought my F3 a few years ago because I fell in love with one way back when I was a teenager. The LCD and light quit working, but I'm still in love with it and feel like that just gives it more character. Great camera.
Really nice video. Thanks for taking us on your photo journey and reminding us why we love photography.
This was my main camera for YEARS. I still bust it out occasionally It's one of the pinnacles of Nikon's history. (Controversial at the time because of the electrics - the Nikon F and F2 were 100% mechanical except for the light meters inside their "photomic" prisms.) Great stuff! Keep up the good work!
Yes, I bought an F3 because of this video! I love it already, I can't wait to really get into it!
YUSSSSSSS
Love the shots of Atlanta taken with a camera like the F3 I used to know in the 80s. The temporary red fingernails were an interesting effect early in the video, then gone on the day hanging out waiting on the flight to depart that evening. Unique.
Loved filmstock and seeing all the photographers!
your vids are great, extremely soothing and calming
My current fav camera is my nikon FG, and i absolutely love that little thing. It's like the little baby brother of the F3, so I can see why you're enjoying it
One of the things I love about the F3 is the sheer volume of accessories available. Shooting waist level with the viewfinder off is good, but Nikon made a waist level finder for some extra magnification and dust protection. I also bought a Type E focusing screen that I adore. Really easy to personalize it to make it the ultimate shooting experience.
I picked up a lovely F3T from Japan...picked up some used manual glass and off i'm going! The very best of luck with the new Machine!
Love your videos and have loved following along with your year of B&W! Picked up a Nikon fm2n last year and it’s become a fantastic daily carry.
One of the best 35mm cameras ever made. Definitely look for a waist level viewfinder for it. So fun.
I picked up a FM2N from KEH recently, but just over the internet. On the late checkout front, you may also be able to check bags with the concierge or front desk, and pick them up later. Assuming your hotel is in a convenient enough location. 🤷♂️😸
Picked up a MINT F3 with the nikkor 50 1.4 for $30 this year! Best purchase of my life!
just found this page and obsessed. swaggy cute photographer? yes please
It’s a great camera. I first wanted one in 1996 when my photo teacher had one. I eventually got one years later and still use it today. I love it with the md-4 motor drive. Clunky and heavy but awesome when I don’t feel like using the advance lever. Haha!
Bought my F3 in 1990, it's still works like new. I always have the motor drive on, you get used to the weight.

Great work, I just bought the FM2n with the same lense - excited to try it out
That was really a wonderful and refreshing video preparation. Thank you so much.😊
Many thanks for a fantastic video, I have just purchased an F3 and now shot my first film in years, yet to development, am looking forward to the results, you’re video was an inspiration thanks again,
from Kay in the UK. Cheers
I do love a hotel room at night. Something very cozy about it.
Anyway those studio photos were terrific. I had an F3 once. I should have kept it.
Superb camera.
The Nikon F3 is my favorite 35mm SLR. A friend let me borrow hers for a year and I fell in love. She asked for it back and the desire to shoot film has gone down because the experience isn’t the same. I am definitely in the market to buy my own F3.
THIS! I think I am more, “camera lover” than photographer. There are certain cameras I enjoy using exponentially more than others, the Pentax 67 and Nikon F3 immediately come to mind.
Really enjoyed this. Ten years ago I stopped being a film guy (sent my Nikon F-601 to the charity shop (my mistake), and went down the Leica digital route. I’m now wanting to get back into film photography and strongly leaning towards a Nikon F3. Saw one body only advertised for €450, which I think is a bit steep so still on the lookout.
€450 should buy you a really mint one. I recently bought an F3 with some light signs of use for €200. Took me a bit of time to find one at a decent price, but that goes for all the F’s. It’s worth keeping an eye out for them.

Thank you for the heads-up. Decided to jump feet first and today my Leica M6 arrived!!
Now waiting on a Voightlander lens. 😫
Even though you were in Atlanta, those shots in the park had a real Central Park NYC vibe to them.
Awesome shots. Love the pictures from the Nikon. Another fun video to tag along with you on.
I’m in your video!! I found you randomly in my recommended and just happened to watch this and I saw myself 😂 small world indeed. Your work is amazing and I’m a huge (new) fan.
Nice video! For me the Olympus OM1 is the one for 35mm.
Super compact and light
I love doing skate fotos in E6 film. Fuji Provia or Velvia. I use the F3 and F5 for E6 film. Love em!
this video made me smile today
You know how to use lighting to your advantage. Props to you
164 is a good serial number, they range from 120's (1980) to 200's (2000's), i got mine with the 50mm 1.4, is like driving a cadillac.
I'm such a sucker for this camera. I just bought the waist level finder which probably costs as much as the camera. But shooting waist level makes me feel way more comfortable and low-key in delicate social situations.
Aww... Jealous of the F3. Great photos. Gotta say though, your videography is stunning.... Love the vibe
Wow I used to own the f3 in the 80s what a great camera it was
Nikon F3 I have used it is a great camera
love every bits of this video! also love your hat!
Can I suggest a Yellow filter and a lens hood for a touch of extra contrast, nice video.
ooooo hell yeah, I had one of those back in the day too :) Great video, as always
Everything in black n white feels right!!!!! In my opinion......
F3 HP - The Best Camera - Ever!
Ah yes- that open for breakfast feeling - Piedmont Park is one perfect long kiss, Atlanta Atlanta Atlanta
watches video*
proceeds to delete my atlanta video edit*
but seriously the cam kirk video montage, the photos of Brooklen, chefs kiss. great video of a great time Taylor.
Paaauuullliiiieeeeeee! Thank you, this is so so sweet. Can’t wait to see yours! NO DELETING
Nice Film! Nice Graine :) and Good Camera! Thanbks!
Can’t go wrong with a Nikon F3.
Best choice you could make for a 35mm SLR. The F3 is a tank!
Music to my ears!!!!!!!!!!
You have a well cared for pro camera. The four notches indicate it was the 4th camera for whoever previously owed it. We use to do that 'back in the day' so if one body failed we would quickly know which one needed to go in for repair. I used F3 cameras for years as a photojournalist. Have fun with it!
This came right on time. I've been debating the 3200iso B&W for daylight. I love high apature photos on the street and I feel like in these fall months 3200 will be killer on the street. I just picked up a Nikon FG my second Nikon 35mm. I'm itching to hit the streets. Thanks for the confirmation.
RUN DON’T WALK!
love your work!
Great video! Loved the song at the end 🕺
I have one of those KE6 arial cameras
The cardboard shredder 😂😭 damn lovely video and photos!! You were in the zone at Cam Kirk 🔥
Had to include lots of the beloved cardboard shredder. Obviously. 😂
thanks Jonathan!! 🥲
I'm sorry I know this doesn't have to do with the video (which I liked btw) BUT you remind me A LOT of Sophia Di Martino the Actress from Loki, you would look awesome if you cosplay Sylvie.
Finding a camera that gels with you when you shoot it is such a great feeling. It’s something that looking at specs or watching reviews won’t ever replace.
I have MANY cameras, but recently pulled out my old Konica Autoreflex TC with 40mm f/1.8 and found it a joy to shoot even though on paper it doesn’t tick many boxes for me.
Great set, great video.
The F3 occasionally calls to me, but then I get a dirty look from my FM2.
"You just want that because it's new..." it says.
I do have F3 , in wonderful working condition…
Thank you for the Nikon F3. Appreciate your perspective. I have a bond with my FM2 like that. Where is your Contax T3?
Great video! Been shooting film for 40 years loved your art. And the music was fantastic! Thank you!
I just got my first 35mm camera (not counting the disposable ones as a kid), and it's a Nikon F3! I got it at Dot Dotsons in Eugene, Oregon. I love it so freaking much. It came with the SB-12 Flash, an electronic film winder, and they they're in a free 28mm .2 lens! All for $220, and the only issue remotely even with the camera is that the film counter gets stuck, so I think it just needs a cleaning!
SO GOOD!!!!
Lovely images and a great soundtrack! Makes all the difference ❤
Yooooo you really did your thing! It was dope meeting you man, you have a great spirit and an eye! Thank you for the new profile pic lol
big love telly 💕
Ah, graincheck and grainydays 1:03 😂
Yesss so beautiful. And congrats on the new camera.🌸✨
I really wanted an F3 when they were released but I could only afford a Pentax MX. Still have a desire to buy an F3 but film prices are crazy.
Great video. Any idea which backdrop you're using in the studio with the model?
Taylor! These are beautiful! I have had an F3 for about two years now and have not played around with the self-timer. I can say that will probably change pretty soon :)
It was so good meeting you! Thank you for 19 minutes of phenomenal vibes once again. Also… the music 🤌🏽🤌🏽 Yes. Just yes.
Thank you new friend 😭❤️🔥 get that F3 out!
Absolutely lovely studio portraits ! I love the poses and the light. And I agree, the 3200 film grain is awesome :) If you've never tried it before, HP5+ at 3200 is actually really good (albeit a lot more contrasty than Delta 3200).
My first love of photography began in 1975 when I took a course in photography. Naturally, I was not familar with the aspect of artistic and development at first, however, the more I progressed, it became a lifetime fascination. Today, I enjoy digital and learning software to enhance my photographs, but nothing beats the nostalgia with 35mm camera development and printing. FYI, last week, I have purchased a F3 from a seller on Facebook Market Page and shooting with Ilford XP2 super 400 film.
It was sick meeting you in ATL! Took your portrait and now that we've met, I've watched a few of your videos. Good content and keep it up!
I need the outtakes.
I have a Nikon F4 and you're making me go out I want an F 3 Now lol ...
Do you get a commission when we use your KEH link? Cause if so I’m gonna click it.
I’m a needle match shill (FE, FE2), but the Nikon F3 is a great camera. Congrats on the new extension to your hand.
Great cameras. Those old Nikons really were a Golden Age - they are so much more enjoyable to use than most of today's mirrorless cameras. The Leica M11 rangefinder still feels great to use - but it is a very expensive option.
Are the pictures you showing in black and white are already developed? Or is this a digital camera as well? Thanks!
You are better and better!!! New camera is the best camera :)
this is so sweet 😭
So much better than the sunny16 bs. Try the 105 2.5. Troo loove. Thanks for sharing.
does anybody know what her main video camera is? the footage looks so perfect :')
"And I did not have to retouch these in post WHAT SO EVER - I did, very slightly"... yeah well..
Cool, Just a small advise, if I may? Buy a smaller brush for painting and use it to brush the dust off the camera.
I got up to about 6 minutes and 30 seconds before I decided it's yet another clueless youtube-tographer. Nearly every 35mm SLR has had a self timer, nothing special needed.
lol.
jfc.
I'm sorry to sound like a Debbie downer but KEH seriously suck. I bought a used camera from them Canon 5d classic and the mirror broke off in 5 days. I also bought a used Fujinon 55-200mm lens and the aperture ring failed a month later. They really need to do better when it comes to quality control. I'll shop elsewhere in the mean time.
3200 is incredible, it's my secret film and clients LOVE the shots I give them from that film stock
Glad you took the prism off. Next step: get a 3D-printed waist finder.
And, yes, film cameras have self-timers.
Nice meeting you during the meet! Great video as always!!
I still shoot film at times, coincidentally with one of the same Nikon F3s I shot professionally back in the day (Yeah, I'm old). But while I do own a film scanner, it is rarely used. I don't see the point of shooting on film and turning it into a digital image, instead of shooting digital and editing it in photoshop if the result is a digital image in both cases.
The "film look" is a result of shooting film and printing it directly on paper. Your photos are great, but seem to miss the point for me.
I apologize if you answered this already but how did you rate the 3200 film when you photographed the model? The pictures looked so good! I have the Nikon F3 on my wish list. Great video.
It ain't 3200 ISO! I'd suggest HP5+ or way more expensive TRI-X or T-Max. The grain was too heavy in portraits. My OPINION.
There is a Chinon with PK mount, but is all the F3 is! Some were modified and made into a F3 looking body! Yes FAKE! Singapore.. It's a good camera actually! The F3 simply fun!
Great video! I just shipped my F3/T off to California to get repaired....can't wait to get it back.
Good Stuff. Working small/light has its advantages at times. Did you shoot that roll box speed?
Yes! Played a bit with under and over exposing by a stop here and there.
not to mention the f3 has one of the best sounding shutters of all time
Very nice video. I am fron Peru and I can tell you, with Cuzco, you are only scratching the surface. Come back for more!
They make a waist level finder that keeps the glare off I own all the F series of bodies my favorite is the F2 keep a spare battery with you
At the begining of the video, was that ilford delta 3200 ?
Yes :)
@@graincheck I will SO use this at my shooting Tuesday 😻
I don't know how I've never noticed you have a channel but I'm glad i found it! Love the layers in the shot at 12:19. (Can't wait to see you shoot color next year)
My fist film camera was The Nikon F3 and of course I bought it from KEH
