I appreciated this video for that fact that you specify the actual notes that need to be played rather than just string and fret numbers. Important for new bass players to know the names of notes and where they are played. Helps too to understand how the notes being played relate to the chords, etc. Well done. Thank you.

Thanx Holly!, ; Glad for your opinión about Esperanza S.! . I went to Your site and listened Justified , like me very Much! and also that You put the words in the video, Nice detail for the no natives! Thank You!😚 , Congrats! 👍👌
I found this lesson via Your music video for it. Phenomenal. In the video it looks like your playing it in a different position. Is this my imagination. Thanks for the lesson!
dan grayson good eye! Except... that’s not me in the Zepparella version of this song.... this is how I, personally, play it live to get a bigger sound than the 8th position.
This is well instructed and easy to follow but it should be noted that JPJ mostly plays these riffs up an octave on the original record from what is shown here.
@@HollyWestMusic as in a foam mute. Check out Ric Grech on the sole Blind Faith record. He played a Fender Jazz bass with a foam mute on every song on that truly fantastic record. My all time favorite Jazz bass tone ever.
Red Dragon we will make sure to do it in the other videos. Is there something you need me to elaborate on specifically? We are still learning what works and what doesn’t. Thank you for you patience.
You are correct! He did record it an octave higher! … I am just showing you how I play it on stage. I play it this way because it gives it a lot more punch.

the bass is sooo bloody cool you can't leave it out of a song
james musisca I agree, but I think you should find something that fits your band and how you want to interpret this amazing song!
Can't hardly wait to see ya'all at *Dante's* in *Portland* on *3 May 2019!* --Allen 🇮🇪👊🍀
Love you Holly, you're amazing!

@@HollyWestMusic Gotcha! Sorry for not recognizing ya!

I tried to do it this way & I just could not make that stretch consistently. Up an octave is so much better!!
Thanks for this video.
It seems like Anytune is only for Apple; do you know an Android app doing this kind of sound editing ?
Wild Cat I’m not sure. Have you tried Transcribe software?
Thanks so much for this breakdown of JPJ parts. Do you have foam under the cover ?
Foam?

Robert Banyaga no, I don’t use foam.
Please tell me about that Jazz bass. USA? Mexico? Also, what brand of flatwounds are those?
craigdamage that will be in the next video! Releasing next week!
craigdamage just released the video you were asking for! 💗
Awesome 👏🏼 🤘🏼😎
Dear Holly, Long time follower. Great Respect. Could you turn up the Bass sound. Can't hear it very well in the video. Thanx!

Then we Rock
Honestly to me it sounds like he played the main riff an octave higher for most of the piece
You are correct! He did record it an octave higher! … I am just showing you how I play it on stage. I play it this way because it gives it a lot more punch.
way more talent than me rock out
james musisca it’s just practice!
