Barracuda Rear Window Install

I finally get the rear window installed in the 1966 Barracuda, with help from a couple of friends. It really was a four person job lifting into place and getting it into the gasket correctly so the lock strip could be installed.

I just picked up 2 pieces of glass this morning for $50. Perfect condition, guy had three '66 barracuda and sold all of them. Only parts he had left were the glass and I snagged them both. Not a bad purchase for $50, gas, and 3 hours of drive time.

The lock strip tool works great, it took me longer to put the corners in than installing the lock strip

Had to laugh when you stated the gas cap was harder to find. I held up my paint job for two weeks trying to find a cap we could paint to match and ended up with a chrome one on my red 66

Yep I get tickled at the keyboard warriors saying the rear glass is $1500 😂. I had one on Craigslist for three years for $50 before I finally sold it. I see rusted out parts cars frequently for $800 with a good glass in them

There is a tool from I think Leslie, that helps putting in the lock strip. It makes it a lot easier. i did not use it on the corners as I only have one corner piece, looking for another one.

Install corners first then slip lock strip under

@@DouglasLaRue you’ll have to hit the swap meets, forums and evilBay. The 66 corners are smooth and the 64/65 are ribbed to match the original lock strip.

Roger great videos,,, I started a 1966 Barracuda project awhile ago but I'm back at it and I was debating on changing my back window since my is all scratched up because the car was sitting under an oak tree. I'm going to see if I can find one here,,, central florida.
