Automotive restoration, component repair and simple upgrades most hobbyists can do without spending a ton of money. I like the Plymouth/Dodge A bodies from 1960 to 1966, so that's what you'll see here, with a few other cool Mopar's thrown in for variety.
FM Bluetooth Radio Conversion
My radio did work, but there's not too many AM radio stations, so what's a feller to do? Get it converted! I had my buddy Rick at Rick's Radio Conversions give it the full conversion, and there's an app for that, too! This is not a paid endorsement at all, I've known Rick for years and there was nobody else I trusted to work on my radio.
Here's the link to the function test done by Ricks Radio Conversions before he shipped it back.

With the 3.91 rear gear ratio, it's no fun driving on the highway. So I decided to swap the original rear axle back in with the 2.93 gears. But I hit a snag. I had something in late 70's for FM. I believe it was from Radio Shack.
@@chuckmaddison2924 Yes, the FM converter! I had one back in the day, too.
Whats the SO number? Significant other? No wonder she doesnt call anymore!
Good morning Today's forecast calls for blue skies 😂😂😂

Nice mod to have in your classic car.

Had to laugh when you stated the gas cap was harder to find. I held up my paint job for two weeks trying to find a cap we could paint to match and ended up with a chrome one on my red 66
Does the ballast resistor generate enough heat to melt plastic? I'm thinking of zip-tying the ballast resistor to the ribbed plastic cable organizer in the vicinity of the ignition coil... (the ribbed plastic stuff around a bundle of wires.) I don't want any more holes in our rusty old 1979 Toyota Pickup... so I can avoid more avenues for rust.😉
Does the ballast resistor need grounding from the mounting screw? Or does it need any grounding at all?
@@dawneandjohn it needs no ground, many replacements are all ceramic with a mounting hole molded into it.
Fabulous!! Thx. 😊 Trying to avoid more holes in the body of our 1979 Toyota Pickup with a 20R engine (there's already enough rust 😬) I'm thinking of zip tying it to something near the coil that doesn't generate heat. Got any advice?? 🤔
Yup, that's how cool I looked when Mom occasionally took me to or picked me up from school. She bought it new in April 64, we still have it.
Oh no! Ive had good results using the 3M glazing compound 08509. It stays gooy like the original sealant.
Well done!

Congratulations. Good representation of different car makes. Yours shows well.
Thank you. That’s the first time I’ve been to cruise night in a few years myself.
car looks nice, and cute lil kidsss <333
I have a slant 6 in my dad's dodge dart swinger yr 1970 perfect condition
That is one nice looking car.
Thank you!
enjoy..... and thumbs up from Lake George, NY
2 - 80 air. 2 windows down @ 80 MPH.
Don’t forget the under dash fresh air vents. 2-2-80 Air!
THATS AWESOME MAN i was just asking other YTers if i could modify a leftover LS engines efi system to any engine i wanted. just rob the fuel rail, injectors, throttle body , iac, tps temp sensor, o2 sensor etc and make it fir on another intake/engine this way seems even simpler BUT VGG makes it sound like those terminator brockly injectors are not available new parts anymore?
Check out the forum link in the comments, there’s info on TBI and mulit-port injection.
Bungee strap it! 😁
lol! 😆
Had one in the late 70's. They were "Stump tough and dirt cheap". The cars with auto's got the nickname "typewriter 6"
3.23 was the standard slant 6 ratio for a manual. Pretty sure my Torqueflte 65 Barracuda had that in too. Changed it for an 8-3/4 with the 10” brakes. That’s the way to go with the V8. Never came across a 3.91 Sure Grip 7-1/4. That’s a rare one for sure. Drag racing with a 7-1/4? Sure to fail 😁
The 7.25 clutch type sure grip is a very stout unit for what it is, nothing like the weak open differential version.
😂😂😂 happened to me a few years ago. You need a new vent frame!!
Nah, I’ll just replace the entire door. I have one on order at the local Plymouth dealer. 🤣
Note-- I also own a 1965 Plymouth Baracuda that has an added Crate Engine
Dang! So sorry. I bought a 8.25 out of a 74 dart. Cracked open when I got it home and found all kind of water damage. It’s going to need total rebuild. It’s a 2.94:1 ratio.
Water getting into stuff sucks, but this was my fault for not storing it properly. Sorry you bought one like that.
Hello. We are in CT. Have a 7 1/4 A body rear end with highway gears from a 1970 dart. Yours if you want it.
That’s incredibly generous of you. Thank you, but I think what I’m going to do is keep the SureGrip, but use my set of 3.23 gears. I’ll pull the axle this winter and have my axle guy in Ellington set it up for me.
@@RogersABodyGarage we will try to find you in Carlisle to say hi. Will probably be there with 68 Superbee. 😊
@@heidisonnenberg7059 I be at the Early Valiant and Barracuda Club tent in the Plymouth A body section, at the intersection at the base of the hill.
2 or 4 barrel?
I think he’s got a 4 barrel carb.
What size rims are those
I’m not sure, it’s not my car, but I’d guess 15”.
Great video Roger,,, I'm looking for the decorative piece that goes in front of the glove box and the end piece that follows to the right at the end,, do you have spare ones?
I can’t find the spare part for the glove box, I need to empty my shelves and reorganize all my parts. There’s so many now.
Had one and raced it Division 7 NHRA. W/S with the 4 speed and J/SA with the auto. Turned the valve body 180 in the Torqueflight and it was a 3 speed manual shift auto. First gear was forward and the other two behind. Line locks of course. Switched out the stock 7 3/4 in. rear for an 8 inch and ran 14 in. rims for the stock 13's.
These cars are perfect for drag racing, they’re lightweight and the tuning like you did makes them competitive.
That looks awesome man
Thanks! Only the hood, the roof, the right door and right front fender to go.
273 commando.
Looks mint! You should have run a piece of tape down the middle and only did half thr trunk, then remove the tape and show the before and after.
I thought about that, but I just wanted to get it done.
I see what you did there with the soundtrack!😂

@@korymanuel8682 yes it is, 1966.
You nailed it. Thank you. 😊
Glad it helped.
Roger I looked all through your channel to find door latch adjustment. Do you have anything on that ?
I don’t, but I could. 🙂
Roger great videos,,, I started a 1966 Barracuda project awhile ago but I'm back at it and I was debating on changing my back window since my is all scratched up because the car was sitting under an oak tree. I'm going to see if I can find one here,,, central florida.
Great video.. where are you buying the trims from?
The trims are ones that I have from the car, the original parts.
The lock strip tool works great, it took me longer to put the corners in than installing the lock strip
Yeah, that corner took wayyyyyyyy too long.
There is a tool from I think Leslie, that helps putting in the lock strip. It makes it a lot easier. i did not use it on the corners as I only have one corner piece, looking for another one.
Yep I get tickled at the keyboard warriors saying the rear glass is $1500 😂. I had one on Craigslist for three years for $50 before I finally sold it. I see rusted out parts cars frequently for $800 with a good glass in them
Making "stuff" shiny !
You betcha!
That was funny!! Perfect choice of music.
Beautiful old girl! Sounds like the rockers need to be adjusted though! Thanks for the video!
Thanks. Yeah, she sounds a little noisy. I haven’t had time to really go through her since I brought her home last December. All I’ve done was top up the fluids and the carb issue.
Just scrap it and get a Holley.
It had a Holley on it when the previous owner bought it. I have it, but the Carter AFB is correct for the car.
Holley's are not the 'be all end all' you think they are ? One little pufter intake reversion or backfire can very easily rupture the power valve enrichment circuit and they run like shiat ! Not to mentioned the emulsion tube metering systems sensitivity to changing weather patterns compromised by 6 psi minimum FP needle/seat requirements not often inherent with classic Cars systems ? Just say'in.... while Holley's typically can offer some very consistent fuel metering WoT conditions across the rom range, in my view .... their overall "drive-ability" across more varied road conditions is not stellar. And on the Engine Dyno we have rarely seen any Holley 4160/4150 series outperform a similarily sized Carter AFB/AVS on restoration/mild perf builds for HP/Trq exhibited .... and more recently the AVS2 offerings seem to trump all else including any Holley's ? No wars wanted.... just my opinions/observations Machine/Assembling and then Dyno'ing every engine before they leave.
@@dirtlump I've had good luck with Holley's over Quadrajunk's. I like the modular design.
@@joe-hp4nk It's a Carter AFB, not a Quadrajet, and it's correct for the car.
@@RogersABodyGarage It's not correct for the car. They use it because it's cheaper.
