Thanks for the tips! I saw a bunch of dudes catching crappie on my lake and want to get some for the pan so this will help. It Texas they have to be 10 to keep it would be nice if it were 9 because my first and only crappie was 9 and I had to throw him back.
What is the weight on the split shot? I've tried this also but the minnows are able to stay on or near the top of the water, what am I doing wrong? Thanks
If you pan on using the slip style for this bobber you will need a slip stop. This bobber also has a fixed position which will hold in place on the line.
How do you find crappie where there is no structure in the lake for them to hold on? My home lake is devoid of hard man made cover. Might have to do some tree branch dumping haha.
@@FloppingCrappie I think I've done some of that had some success with a point. Im trying to scout my lake for crappie for when I take my mom fishing (she loves crappie). My electronics are cheap I can see some fish usually larger. Mainly I use it to find weed edges and for depth. Only thing it seems to be good for. If I had that 93sv I would be in heaven lol.
Hey man I have a question. I bought some of these bobbers and they don't lay on their side like normal bobbers do. Like if a fish hit it and came up in the water column I wouldn't know because it just stands strait up and down constantly even as soon as I cast before the bobber stop hits it its still standing up.
Did you purchase the weighted style bobber? This company makes a number of bobber styles. The weighted bobber has a lead ring above the bobber spring which results in it standing straight up and down. The Bobbi used in the video (atleast in my experience) don't stand straight up until the bobber drop reaches the spring.
I have a 2014 or 15 helix. The transducer is mounted on the back of the boat. The sonar works fine, but when I run the trolling motor it interferes with the side and down imaging. Do you have any idea what it could be?
Using a larger size reel might help. I've been going back and forth between the rubber stops and yarn stops, I think both have their advantages and disadvantages.
@@FloppingCrappie thanks for the feedback, I usually use a 500 size real for pan fish,, maybe a 1000 size? What size ru using, I looked at ur reel link but don’t know what size ur using... Thanks again!!!!
Overall I like the trolling motor. This is my 3rd foot pedal, but Garmin support has been amazing. They've got me a new pedal within a week of calling them each time.
@@FloppingCrappie Thank you for the reply! I have been thinking hard about getting the force, as I have recently changed the boat electronics from all humminbird to garmin and added a livescope. I am upgrading trolling motors next so I might hold out on the force right now and stick with the ultrex.
Do you have the microwave guides on your crappie stix? If so, what affect does the rubber bobber stop have on them for slip bobbers. I’m about to rig up my new rods tonight and want to know if I should use the tie on ones?
I don't have the micro guides on my 8ft rod, which is what I use for slip bobber fishing. I find the micro guides will catch the slip-stop when casting.
Great video man! Also appreciate the links. I want that fryer!! I noticed the bobber you use is the spring variety of slip bobber. I usually use the kind you thread the line through the center. Is there a reason you prefer the spring kind?
That bobber also has a hollowed out middle so you can run the line through the center as well. I just like being able to un-clip the bobber when storing the rods in the locker
Why couldn’t you use the rubber bobber stop and a slip weight rather than pinching a slip shot for any or all types of “bites”? This easily adjusted and won’t effect the line. Great show enjoy your time and tips.
Great vid. Absolutely love how versatile slip bobbers are
Great info. I rarely fish with Minnows, but when I do............ 🤔 "I Listen to Flopping Crappie..." 🤣🤣
Always enjoy the education and fun you share, thank you.
I’ve learned a lot from all your videos man.. have caught more crappie than ever
Glad the videos helped
Thank you for your videos!! Learn something new with every video. If you ever take anyone out let me know!! East side wisconsin here!!
Thanks, I wanted to make a trip out to winnebago yet this summer

Good video, always up for crappie tips and techniques. Great way to end it!
Thanks!
Bobber, minnows, and a 1/8 oz split shot is all I've used for crappie since 1965.
Nice fryer, thanks for sharing
Great show as always man. If you ever find yourself in or around north Alabama, I can put you on some lake guntersville slabs.
Huntersville is on my bucket list of lakes, maybe next spring
Would a drop shot setup where the weight is beneath the hook work similarly when you are experiencing a negative bite?
So the hotter the temperature it is outside, the deeper crappies tend to be at?
well dang @ 6:44 that minnow had other plans and getting put on a hook wasn't a part of those plans lol

Davis great vidio do u have to use slip knot of some kind with the new Bobber

I would look for deeper weed edges this time of year (mid-summer). Crappie with suspend on the edges of these weeds waiting to ambush bait fish.

Yep, a jighead will work

I could be electrical. Is the trolling motor hooked up to the same battery as the helix?
@@FloppingCrappie yes it is

Your right, it isn’t cheap for the fryer😳
If I’m really not catching anything I’ll put two or more minnows on the same hook. They fight against each other. If one gets off it’s chum.

Catch and cook. No cleaning. :)
Why are you keeping 9in crappie, when the law states crappie has to be 10in to keep or pay a fine.😮
No minimum size limit in Wisconsin
