This is one of those times when being totally blind is awesome so I don't even have to look at these ads. :)
Like I said Roku should be a stand alone platform.
whenever there is an option to opt out of stuff "adds" like his i will always choose to opt out...when im on my tv i want to watch tv...if i want to purchase something i will go to wherever i need to go to purchase items i want....do not mix them together...i hate that.
As long as it doesn't inundate us with ads like Amazon's Firestick does, I don't see it as a bad thing.
As for whether I'll use it or not, I really don't know.

The uk don’t have a Walmart store this is for families living in America so the Roku ads won’t work for the Uk public to buy from inless they want to see if Walmart takes off good enough teaming up with Roku in America & see how it plans out first. As EBay & Amazon are popular in the uk to buy from for internet shopping.
You know one of the most blatant product placement I think I've seen on any show I was watching an episode of alias when I was in college and there was a car that drove by and the guy on com said oh that's a pretty cool looking car and then shortly afterwards they got a commercial break and there's an ad for that exact car when I heard the guy on com's talking about the car I knew immediately that had to be part placement.
You know I can see if the ads are targeted well enough I could see eventually I'll stitch in the phone and using the shop of lots but then again you don't want to do too. This could end up like the home shopping Network which either you absolutely love or you absolutely hate and they're really not being a middle ground
my Samsung tv has adds for every app right before clicking on them. Such as Microsoft ads above my Xbox app.

I hear what you are saying about Roku and Wally World. But isn't that what Amazon does with the Fire TV and the live shopping App?
there always been adds on roku now wallmart is in the game i am fine with that because wallmart is 3 hour drive from me
I think it’s terrible that Roku would inflict this upon its customers. The minute they put Walmart ads on my Roku is the day I buy a replacement device. If I wanted to shop I’d go online or to a local store. Bad idea!
I don’t see this as ads, although they’ll have those. I see stuff at the bottom of your screen like on broadcast TV only with a button, covering close caption and whatever is happening down there. Please don’t do this.
I like Walmart plus. 10 cents off a gallon of gas, although it's scary they know when you pull up to the pump. The only issue is they won't deliver Walmat products that the neighborhood mart doesn't have if that's closest to you.
Why the hell can't we talk about the length and frequency of UA-cam ads?
Dummy, they do this channel. You want to talk bad about UA-cam you better get up different platform!

Hey I don't know your issue. But do a trial. Order something from Amazon and order the same thing immediately with Walmart. No chance partner!
