I have had this rim for almost a year now (since i got my first wheel) and i 100% recommend it. I got mine second hand in good condition for about 100 gbp and it have done me very well
I’ve used this rim with the TS-PC base for a couple of years now, and it’s great. I usually use it only with open wheel and modern GT cars where I won’t have to do hand-over-hand steering, like you mention. The best feature of it definitely is the rocker switch that allows you to use one hand for shifting, if you need to do so. Great to have so many buttons as well. Great review! 👍🏼
Did same a few weeks ago but removed plate with fake dials... remove back cover careful as not much room for error as cable/wires has not much play! then one at a time unplug each button pull it through then plug back in over the top (keeps in correct place with no mistakes ) then the aluminium plate with the fake dials peels off (bit by bit and slowly to avoid bending it, I've heard hairdryer makes easy but mines old so came off very easily ) then carbon wrap over the plastic underneath (sounds daunting but if I can do it ha ha), I also removed ferrari "dial " in centre and replaced with Mercedes badge (from wheel hubcaps ..cheap from car wreckers and full size plastic logo) .......BUT..... I did end up putting plate back on as I made all my thrustmaster wheels "stock" again f1 rim ,open wheel rim, sparco rim had Holden badge in centre (v8 supercars), and on the ferrari rim (599xx)I have the gt3 rim on it from eBay I kept that on for ACC , but made all the rest stock again as it looks cleaner/more matching I guess ( I fiddle with em alot so I'm never happy ha ha)...
I recently got myself a t300 gte alcantara edition , the amount numbers on the set is not enough for me eventhough i am going to buy this wheel , i think i might build myself a button box too , thanks for the review .
Ugh, remember it is compatible with newer TS-Servobases (TS-PC/TS-PC 488/TS-XW/T-GT) - 24 buttons - onegrip steering wheel. Quite old rim, but still my prefered. I have updated mine with also the 5 middle usable as the real wheel.
I have the t300 and am really considering the tm open wheel add-on or the f1 add-on. I love the f1 design and the additional buttons. As well as the rotary dials. But the plastic centre with the fake buttons are an enormous turn off for me. The tm open wheel looks sturdy, clean and i like that the bt-led part can be placed on top. Just seems to suit me better, but I’m still considering. Does anyone have any thoughts about the choices?
The ferrari wheel is mainly more expensive because of its ferrari branding and the better build quality. The tm wheel add on is probably just as good just a little thinner and the gear shifters are also different. If you can get both for the same price i would go for the ferrari wheel
I really want this wheel rim. I already have the Sparco P310, it's really good. I like it a lot, but I definitely want more buttons. The SF1000 looks a lot better, but I have only seen it going for $700+ USD, which I find ridiculous. As far as I know, TM will continue producing it into the coming years, I just hope that it goes for MSRP at some point in the near future. In the meantime, I'm struggling to decide whether I should buy this one or not. On the one side, it looks decent, on the other, I already have the Sparco one, so buying another one feels unnecesary.
If u really want it, I think you should go for it. You should definitely not spend the money for a brand new one, try to get a used one for cheap. I have both the f1 wheel add on, and the tm open wheel and my thoughts are that the f1 wheel looks cool3r and more buttons, but the tm open wheel doesn't look plastic. Both are solid, but I would say get th3 one which will cost u less l maybe around 100$/£. Then u can resell it again and upgrade to the sf1000 and also use it with the dd tm is releasing this year
Thank you for calling out the fake rotary dials. I was going to buy it assuming they worked but now I know they’re fake. you save me a lot of money so thank you.
Nice review. I just wish thrustmaster would actually sell the ts-pc racer gt rim seperatly. I do alot of gt style racing in iracing and from what i heard the quality of the f1 wheel is kinda bad as you said. The other option is real rim from ricmomod but they are really pricey :( .

I love this thing. I used to only have the 599 rim which i adore. But that is 33cm in diameter. The f1 rim is a bit smaller. I had no idea how much that would help in nasty situations. I was so much quicker to catch a spin that i started driving slicks in the wet just to see what i could do. XD (PC2 that is) Also, i think 3drap is just a bolt on solution.
