The version of Heart Shaped Box you are hearing on this video was re-touched by Scott Litt, this isn’t the Albini version. The official radio versions you hear of Heart Shaped Box and All Apologies are not Albini, they were retouched for the album because Geffen and Nirvana thought the vocals were getting buried in the mix. There was a whole brouhaha about the production in between the time of the album getting made and the album getting released and Cobain ended up agreeing with the record label that the vocals were not loud enough on those songs
Yezzir... I believe Litt allowed Kurdt to added some backup vocals and also applied mastering. But if anything, imo, the Litt processing was a good aspect to the album. He also made the snare less abrasive for the songs he was involved with. Kurt was supposedly satisfied except All Apologies he thought wasn't quite right yet good enough. I think he had a CD-R mix on a discman of Albinis original mix he evaluated at some point.
