I used to be a teacher. I suggest donating any of the kids’ items to schools! It goes directly into their hands instead of their parents/guardians having to have a way to go to a thrift store AND having to purchase 💗
Yes! I work in an elementary school, and my school has a children's clothing closet, with clothes in a variety of sizes, available for the children in case they will ever need them.
You know theres kids in Africa that don’t even have family or a home or any food to eat which might be a good idea to give to them kids that actually need it not kids that go to school ?

Many African countries have requested that Western countries stop sending them their clothes because a) it depresses local traditional clothing creation and thus the local economy and b) much of it isn't culturally appropriate or needed, thus ends up in landfill. Africa struggles with a lot of pollution and other environmental issues from being treated as the garbage dump of the world and they don't want more of our crap. Africa also has schools and the majority of children do go to school there. Level of suffering also shouldn't be the determinant of charity and care, too, because going hungry and having no properly sized clothes is traumatic for kids anywhere. There are also several million children in the US without families and/or homes. Finally, keeping things local is better for the environment overall.

I really appreciate how Hope donates so much from these hauls to various charities. It would be so easy to just throw away anything she doesn't want to keep or can't sell, but she takes the time to organize everything for donations.
Especially with the quality of the donations! Underwear, socks, kid's clothes, and winter items like gloves are super helpful when donated
I used to work at Nordstrom Rack and the items that say are a penny, were damaged out and shifted to a different location. I love this haul!!!! Brings back memories for sure ❤️ also There is an organization in Indiana named Peaceful Hands (Nonprofit) definitely will be a blessing too!!
I love how Hope says "this is cute but not on me" !! Things can be cute but realize that it doesn't suit you. That something doesn't suit you doesn't mean that it isn't cute!!!! More of this mindset ❤️
I agree! I have that mindset about random things I find while shopping. And when I go into the fitting room I realize it is cute but not on me.

Agree! I didn't realize how rare that was until I joined a style fb group. And everyone suggests clothes that fit themselves on others. 😂

I mean they’re not dumb either , they’re making a lot of money so it actually helps them pay less taxes at the end of the year because all those donations offset any taxes they’d have to pay for all the money they make , they ain’t dumb they’re smart , make a lot of money and pay no taxes or very little bit seeing how much they donate they may not pay any ,

@@SarahLynn__ the underwear is the hardest thing to get because you can’t donate used. What do you donate? How often and how much? Doubt you have donated $7,000 in you life. Charities love donations of new underwear, bras and socks because everyone needs them. Go volunteer sometime and you would know this.
Former Nordstrom manager here…when things get marked as a penny at Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack it’s so the employees know to pull it because it’s old merchandise. Usually it will all be sent to the Last Chance stores in AZ/IL
I came here to say this box was definitely from Nordstrom Rack which isn’t as good as Nordstrom, maybe you can educate us lol but their inventory includes brands made specifically for their rack store. Their higher price point items don’t always make it to their rack stores. Idk, I was kind of disappointed with this box bc Nordstrom Rack is either a great rare hit or a waste of time miss.
Hope , i really was glad to see you made a bunch of gift bags to donate. When it is cold outside, gloves are so greatly appreciated. Shelters, homeless, woman's and children's shelter would love to have the sweaters, pajamas..Any body cleansing, perfumes, haircare etc are loved by someone who doesn't have money for extras. You are such a loving caring person. At the High Schools in our areas, they had everyone who would or was able to donate prom or dressy dresses, so that nobody had to stay home because of not able to pay high dress prices. Some may need professional cleaning but some cleaners may even lover some costs for the cause. What special gifts, something nice to wear or sleep in or coats & gloves to keep from freezing. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. I love following you.
I just think about how a appreciative a person in need will be to get those gloves. It makes me so happy to see the donation of never worn items for children and families. 🙏🏼

Love that your first thought of the Columbia underwear was to donate them. A social worker for homeless people (a German one but I believe this to be a general problem) said that they are usually very short on underwear because most people don't feel comfortable donating their old underwear!

the 1cent marking is a pricing error that Nordstrom's system sometimes would make. When it's found they just quickly pull it off the floor and send it back to distribution. loved seeing you open this haul
I am sooo freaking happy and proud of you!!! From a legging/fitness channel to really whatever you want but I love that your “hauls” have been return or dead stock! I am so tired of see UA-camrs add to fast fashion and the clothing pollution by buying brand NEW STUFF they maybe will wear once.

That box was a blessing in disguise. Not only did you find some good stuff for yourself and items for your site, but you got some pretty awesome stuff for the less fortunate (gloves, underwear, kid's clothes, etc). All in all this box seems like an extreme win.

I thought Japan was well known for mystery boxes? Maybe not returns like this, but lots of different types of items in mystery packages?
I’ve seen/heard the trash taste boys talk about how you can get packages of mystery items, and not just the anime ones they always get😆

@@lisahoshowsky4251 Mystery bags are usually only around New Year in Japan. I've been in Japan for almost 6years total, and I haven't really seen mystery bags around other than in January. Almost most of these mystery bags aren't actually mysteries as most companies will show you what's inside! XD lol

Shipping costs are shocking! I couldnt stop laughing when you didnt know what an egg cup was, I live in Scotland, we still use them for our morning boiled egg :)

As someone who used to work at Nordstrom - when things are marked a penny, it means they are meant to be shipped out to the cheaper stores of Nordstrom. First to the rack, and then to last chance. When we do markdowns you’re supposed to immediately pull them off the floor BUT if some are missed and you find one, we HAVE to sell it to you for a penny.

Giveaways for your channel!!
The socks were a penny because that is what Nordstrom does when they are getting rid of a product that doesn't sell. They pull the item from the store floor and price it down to a penny. Some people have found items at Nordstrom and the Rack that are a penny and they have to sell the item to you for a penny. I found a pair of Hudson Jeans that rang up for a penny and they sold them to me for a penny.

I think it's great that the store is not throwing out unsold merchandise and is selling it on a secondary market.
99.9% of this pallet was junk Nordstrom couldn’t sell. Other than the underwear and PJs this lot belongs in a landfill and I guarantee you Hope will end up dumping most of it on Goodwill and they won’t be able to move the merchandise either so it will eventually end up in a landfill. And to think she spent $1700! I can’t wrap my head around Nordstrom’s dishonesty that this was a pallet of “returns”. It’s like taking two $1,000 bills and lighting them on fire. Complete waste of money unless you think those undies are worth $1700.
When I read Nordstrom I already knew this would be a cool haul, they have EVERYTHING 😭 I love those sunglasses 😎
Here in Australia, we have a charity called Thread Together, and it saves these kinds of unworn and brand new clothes from retailers taking them to landfill, and redistributes them to people in need. I.e. victims of bushfires & floods, women's refuge centres, homeless communities etc
Can't believe these huge corporations use up precious earthly resources to create this detritus that they don't end up selling and just want to dump them. They should be paying you to take them off their hands!!

I can confirm, the egg cups are an European thing! It’s so that when you make boiled eggs you can cut off the top and then eat it with a spoon and keep things from getting messy. My grandma has a whole custom set lol

I used to work at Nordstrom and it was an awful work experience… ever since Blake Nordstrom died and Eric took over they have totally stopped caring about the employees. PS, a lot of these items are 1. Unsold Rack items (which don’t always come from Nordstrom), 2. In store displays, and 3. Catering services items.
