The reason I don’t like these auctions is because when I was in high school, my family got evicted from our apartment and we had to put everything we owned in a storage unit because we were moving in with my cousin and she didn’t have room at her house. My mom got behind on the payments and then the storage company eventually auctioned off all of our things bc she couldn’t afford to pay it on time. That was about 8 years ago and I’m still saddened about all of my belongings, keepsakes and childhood memories I lost there. It was probably junk to the buyer but everything to me.

You definitely got scammed, but I love how optimistic you are even if you don’t get your money back.😊

Louis Vuitton's fabric never cuts off the "LV" logo on the fabric. So if you ever see a LV bag, look on the side of it to see if any of the LV's print is cut off by the stitching. That's one way you can tell it's fake.

hard to believe anyone would go out of their way to save that many empty cases and then have them placed like that. The storage facility was def scamming.

not going to lie i was living for the impromptu fashion show 🤩

What’s actually happening now is that influencers are creating this new “scammy” ecosystem. These people know that TikTokers and UA-camrs will buy this stuff for content. The “scammer” gets paid and so does the influencer by way of the video and being able to write off the “scam” purchase as a business expense. In this way, there isn’t really a victim, just opportunists on all sides.

On another episode of "Hope spends enormous amount of money for our entertainment" I just want to say, THANK YOU for doing so much (like literally, SO MUCH) for us. I discovered you only this month but I've been bingeing your videos like crazy and every one of them is so wholesome <3

Please tell me I wasn't the only one who use to think these where were Parking places

  • @JohnSmith-nj4zq

Wow, I learned something new. I never knew the person could purposely put empty boxes and fake expensive bags into a storage unit and can scam people with it. The storage place only gets to keep the unpaid fees and the rest from the auction goes back to the prior storage unit owner. I always thought whatever value that was auctioned, the storage place gets to keep 100%. I guess there are scams everywhere. But this one is more like a legal scam since no one is forcing you to put in a bid for the storage unit.

As a buyer of lockers since the 1990's where a 40' unit would sell for only a one dollar, yes it was a set up.

That’s a common trick where they go through and take the new value items esp guns and leave the empty boxes. One person found the contact details of the previous owners and they confirmed that the storage unit had been sold 18 months previously, and had contained items. Proving that the storage owner had been sold it twice!

You are so generous, the world needs more people like you. My daughter bought me a coach bag for Christmas and it looks beautiful with my Amazon dress from my sister. When you are financially struggling due to medical bills any high end or low end item is priceless.

Appreciate how much works and money she spends on these amazing videos

I'd love to get a storage unit to go through. Not even for any value, I just love being nosey at other peoples stuff 😂 although I dont think I'd feel scammed if i purchased this (I wouldn't purchase at that price!) and there was nothing in the expensive boxes, because I'd automatically assume that stuff would not have been left in the boxes. I'd have thought that would be common sense to not expect those kind of things would be in there. 😂

When my aunt passed away her storage unit company literally suggested to my brother clearing out anything he wanted and then selling the unit rather than cleaning it out completely. My aunt was a hoarder, but the cleanest most meticulously organized hoarder in human history. Her hoard was labeled and a lot of it was good quality cleaning products or around the house stuff and most of her hoard was donated to a woman's shelter and a homeless shelter respectively. A food pantry took her non perishable food hoard. The storage unit sale resulted in my brother making $25 which he gave me to cover the stuff I had picked up from the store 2 days before she passed and she had wanted me paid for. She knew she was dying and made sure everything that we could want was at the front of the unit and everything we could dump was at the back. She didn't tell us she was dying until she needed hospice care. It's been months and I still miss her. If you want to remember my favorite family member take a picture of the people you love. My Aunt Lynie certainly did and the last day I saw her she asked me to rearrange the photos she brought so she could see them better. She had committed every photo she cared about to memory and still brought them with her to hospice because she loved to take photos of the people she cared about.

Depending on the brand and how old it is, guitars can actually go for quite a bit. I'd say that guitar was at least $200 USD new.

This is so good as a cautionary tale tho. For anyone who's trying to make some money and have watched shows where everything goes well. And I can imagine other creators who maybe came upon this same situation but threw in something of high value to create excitement. To thanks for being real with us and for donating <3
