In this video I talk about what annoys me in this car and what I don't like about it. None of them are deal breakers and I am still very happy with the car, just some stuff that is an annoyance or inconvenience.

BTW, the exhaust doesn't sound terrible on this car, its enough to satisfy you, but I wish it was a itte bit more aggressive and had burbles.

Bonus knowledge on the 2023 G70 Prestigue! Hold the open key fob and all windows will open. Voice commands exist for drivers window down, passenger window down, or up, all windows down, voice command for heated and ventilated seats and open the trunk. Did you know this vehicle has headlight fans to dissipate any moisture? 't's an automatic feature, no button. More to come.

I have one got the 22 back in 8/21 so had it early. The seat comment is spot on. Just get a samsonite gel pad for bottom and back makes ride 1,000 times better. Does effect use of heated and cooled seats. But I’ll trade it for pure comfort.
New owner of a 2023 G70 3.3T AWD Prestige. Somewhat agree on the display gauges. For the price it would be nice if it were all digital, and I agree it makes no sense why the rest of the world gets it but not the USA. That said, I think it's perfectly fine as-is, especially since I mostly just look at the HUD. Seats: Coming from an F150, they are a little snug but other than that they are quite comfortable to me, and I love that it has cooling seats and not just heated seats. Personally I never use heat in my seats, only cooling. Back seat room: Agree it's a bit too tight, but like you I rarely ever have passengers so it's mostly a non-issue. Disagree about they should have made it a 2 door, because every morning on the way to work I throw my backpack in the back seat. With a 2-door it's more work. My GF also opens the rear door to put her stuff in the back seat too. So it's nice to easily put and retrieve your stuff, as opposed to flipping your seat forward and reaching back in a 2-door. Plus it's much easier and quicker when you do have passengers. Exhaust note: I like the way it is because it's my DD and luxury cruiser, and it will never sound anywhere near as good as my 825hp 2017 Mustang GT w/ AWE Touring exhaust. Once you get used to a nice, well tuned V8 exhaust, the 4 & 6 cylinder cars...honestly...they mostly sound annoying when they are made to be loud(er)
Good point about the back seat thing. I do the same thing, quite convenient for extra storage haha
100% agree about instrument cluster.
I have 2020 G70 Prestige 3.3 L AWD.
So my panel all analog.
For that kind of money Genesis should do all digital.

I have a back problem.
Never felt any discomfort.

It's an awesome car
I own exactly the same car, same specs. My complaints other than the exhaust (it definitely should have a lot more "growl"), is the suspension not being sporty enough *specially in sport plus), and the brakes. For a Brembo high performance brakes, they should have less travel. They are a bit spongy for my taste...the other stuff you mentioned, I was well aware before I decided to purchase the G70, so no surprises there. Back seat is no so bad (plenty if you are 6 feet tall or shorter). Driver seat is firm but very comfortable for me...

I've had mine for the past 6 months, have had 2 long trips and find the seats pretty good. I'm 6'2''. Since the seating position is lower, getting in and out is kind of a ''workout'' lol ...
I'm late to the game but just got my G70, so I have that excuse. Traded a 2018 Fiat 124 Spider for a 2021 G70 2.0T AWD Elite that was just off lease. Call me old school, but I really prefer the all analog gauge cluster. "She who must be obeyed" has a 24 Kona with all digital dash and it just seems gimmicky to me. It has multiple driver settings, so at least I can set it to mimic analog gauges when I'm driving it... The turn signal cameras are a nice touch, but I'm not convinced they're a good idea... check your mirrors and look over your shoulder. There's some so-called safety tech that I really feel is just flat out unsafe.
Which leads me to skip over the seats for a minute to address point 3. The reason the steering wheel goes nuts after a while is because you're not supposed to let go of it. It's trying to get your attention to say Yo! put your hands on the damn wheel where they belong!
As for seat comfort, I love them. One of the reasons I gave up the Spider was because my back hurt getting in and out of it the last year or 2. Yep. I'm getting old. I love the seats in the G70.
Back seat room... don't really care. If I really need to, I can squeeze a couple people in. Grandkids will fit back there just fine. The back seat is more for the dogs than anything else.
As for the exhaust, again, I'm getting old. I got over loud burbeley (is that a word) exhausts a long time ago. I find them annoying when the kids in the neighborhood go flying up and down the street every day 9 months out of the year... The local High School is literally right behind my house.

The seats are a bit stiffer but I think it’s because of the “sporty feel”. They don’t bother me, although the bottom bolsters specifically on the left side digs into my thigh a little so I got a butt pad lol. I’m a bigger dude at 270 so if you’re thin obviously this won’t be an issue
I love analogue clausters, but G70's ones are very ugly as the screen is off-center ....
The digital cluster doesn't bother me. My wife has a gvv70 and I almost prefer the analog. Also the seats are super comfortable for me. I love the drive position and comment to my wife how easy and comfortable the car feels to drive. The HDA works great for me even on city streets. Although I don't really allow it to drive itself much. I'm married with no kids and the backseat never gets used lol. Also thr Bun.BL exhaust sounds good
I've heard the seats in the GV70 are amazing. Alot of car review websites rave about them.
I test drove the GV70 which has the full "3D" cluster and I hated the box in the cluster that is the entire tech behind it, it's not implemented well and looks like an aftermarket solution. It's an eyesore to be frank.
I love my g70, so much that I’m planning on turning it in to get the 3.3 engine instead of the 2.0. But I felt it when you were talking about the seats. They’re so stiff and I get sore after 20 minutes. I also have the quilt stitching and it’s beautiful, but once I sit in my friends Mercedes I realize how comfortable seats should be
The 3.3T is very quick. I have to keep it in eco mode to prevent myself from getting arrested while driving this car. It's so freaking fast
It's not unusual for the U.S models for Kia/Hyundai to be one year behind for feature upgrades. 2024 U.S G70 = 2023 Korean G70 with full digital cluster.
It's great to hear you make a comparison of the legroom of the Scion tC and this! I own a 2012 (2nd gen) and was looking to get a g70 in a year or two. The g70 definetly needs better packaging. How are you liking your tC?
I've had my Scion tc since 2013, so for 10years. It has been an amazing car, not a single issue over the whole 10 years. Its fun, sporty, just enough pep to be fun to drive, and crazy practical for daily use
@@layne4376 Gotcha, I've seen a few comparisons stating where the legroom was worse than the bmw, mercedes, etc. but never against a TLX. Good to know, ty for the information.
I’ve got a 2023 Siberian Frost white with the red interior and it absolutely doesn’t bother me theirs little legroom for rear occupants!! A majority of us meet our friends and family members out anyways, enjoying this as my daily driver and somewhere to seat my girlfriend when together…….G70 BABY‼️
Love the seats, if you want exhaust pops go aftermarket, I agree about the cluster, but not as strongly. I will do a catch can, WMI, Intake, and tires/lighter rims and lug nuts as my first mods. Don't know if I want a more aggressive exhaust note, I love the stealth chill nature of silence in this car.
I would love to do something custom, just haven't found the right shop to do the work yet. I'm thinking some sort of aftermarket muffler swap, I don't wanna to muffler delete, cause that's too obnoxious. But something like the Borla Xr1 mufflers I think would sound great with some aftermarket tips that extend out of the exhaust ports. Just gotta find the right place to do the work. Not many high end aftermarket shops around me that I would trust to do work on a car like this.
I too have a genesis and there hardly any padding in the back area, very skimpy..thats the first thing I noticed after I bought it...

Also, do you get the infamous hard downshift from 3rd-2nd when drifting to a stop that a lot of people experience? That’s easily my biggest complaint about the car
I only experience really hard downshifts if I am in the regular sport mode. They are awful.. But when driving in eco or comfort, no, I havnt experienced what alot of people complain about. I'll notice some slight lurching when coming to a stop, but it's very subtle when in eco or comfort
You need to be driving fairly aggressively in sport Plus for that to happen. Think it's from 2nd to 1st at 30. Drive a little more aggressive than fairly and that downshift is perfect when approaching corners
Maybe it’s the architect in me desiring some balance and symmetry but I also hate that gauge cluster. There is a lot to like about this car though.
All of your gripes are the same for me.. though as you say, mostly minor. I personally like the exhaust. It's throaty at low rpms in Sport and Sport +... in comfort, it's quiet. On the odd occassion it will rasp just a bit, which I don't like but overall it's pretty good. I wish it would sound like an NA V8 but that's not gonna happen! My biggest issue with the car is that I had a 2019 with a tune and it was just awesome. My 2023 isn't tuned and I'm just itching to do it... If you turn off LKA and just use HDA it should stop the ping pong.
I drive the GV60, and I have seats similar to yours and it's not comfortable, its mehh. It doesnt bother me so I just live with it. Also, the GV60 has massaging seats, which helps a little.
I bought a 2021 as I was torn between the old/new body style. In 2021 you could buy the full digital gauge cluster as an FYI. I tested the identical 2021 model (Siberian Ice Sport AWD), and opted to not buy the digital dash because it really didn't look that good in person. You are not missing anything as it's not as clean as the other digital screens you were talking about.
Good to know. And I had heard rumors that certain 2021 and before year models had the digital display. Older technology and interface tho than the current 2022 and forward year models
@@HammysShowcase It was the same display they have in the other markets for the G70. Having driven both 2021 and 2022 (as I was going back and forth on what one I wanted), the differences in tech is minimal. I went back and forth over which one to go with, as I hated the split screen in the 2022, but liked the middle screen a lot better then the 1 in the 2021. Bought mine new and have 27k on it now. The WORST part of the car with the dark trim is it looks like crap in a year or two. Really starts to get a buildup on it and is a real pain to get it clean.
I turned off that driver assistance. Not for me. That jiggle isn’t for me…
Pretty sure you can get the virtual dash with an aftermarket kit... can't be that hard either seeing as they have one in sport prestige. Plug an play baby, just buy the part.
Did you tune your car for the intakes or it’s not needed? Picked this same car up, never did an engine mod before, so looking at your same intakes, but someone people tell me I have to tune and some people tell me I don’t have to, looking to stay away from tuning so I don’t void warranty.

Love the seats in my 2023. Don't care either way about the gauges. Back seat room? Never have more than two people onboard as I traded a 2020 Mustang GT convertible.

Great deal. I bought my 2023 3.3t sport prestige AWD for $46k CPO, also courtesy car. Only 4700 miles. Can still sell it for profit a year later lol

Genesis USA and USA dealers choose all the options for US market before releasing the vehicle. They probably thought the full digital screen is not worth the money.
The top trim G70 has Active exhaust, which is why not all G70s sound the same.
Both me and my friend have the top trim G70 with active exhaust. Same exact cars

The digital cluster being absent is so annoying. Literally almost all Hyundais has the full digital cluster that cost less than half what this car costs lol.
100% agree. Literally every new car on the market, even in the $30k price range have full digital clusters or a screen. This car is already like 6 years outdated yet it's brand new

The 2024 GV70s are already on the lots. No changes to them tho. I imagine 2024 G70s won't actually come out till 2024

I have a 22 sport prestige and actually my back and hip hurts as well.

I'm with you on that. I don't understand how a car with four doors has less backseat legroom than a 2 door. My Scion tc which is a 2door hatcback and is way shorter than the G70, has legroom for days in the back seats. It really is quite impressive.

I test drove a 2023 G70 Sport Prestige and the one thing that stood out to me the most was how UNCOMFORTABLE the seat was. After the test drive my back and butt were hurting. Very odd, it kept me from buying it. Later, when I drove the Kia Stinger GT2, the seats were just fine. I guess they aren't the same seats?
Well glad to know it's not just a me problem, alot of other people have commented the same issue. I will say tho, I spent a good bit of time adjusting my seat after making this video and did find a better seat position that doesn't seem to hurt me back as much
The one I have priced out is the top tier and it prices at 51k... thats with the sport prestige. Delete your resonator and muffler and you'll get much better sound. Wanna get real aggressive take the cats off 😂
You must have the 2.0 or 2.5 liter for it to be only $51k fully loaded. In the US, the 3.3t fulled loaded is $57k. If you're in a different country, pricing could be different
I don’t like most of the things you stated as well also don’t like how small the trunk is I was going to take my new Genesis out of town but couldn’t because my luggage plus my husband’s wouldn’t fit 😒 and I have the 2023 G70 prestige

10000% on the seats - really kills my back. I'm trading mine in soon (anyone want to make an offer?) - using a cushion and killing the cooled/heated function is a deal breaker for me (I got this over the BMW because it had cooled seats). I agree with everything else. Car drives and handles awesomely - but just not comfortable for me.
That instrument display is almost a deal breaker for me. The Lexus IS has similar back seat room.
I thought it was a deal breaker for me, but living with it, it honestly doesn't bother me too much. Would I prefer the full digital with the cool animations, yeah... But I don't when or if they'll add that to the G70 in the US market

You know what bothers me? You pay 60k and don't get a hood light. Is it just mine or does this car not have a when you pop the hood? Terrible plastic trim around side windows. Forget the back seats cars is not designed for tall person and if your shoe size is over 10 then the driver footwell it's too small. Seats are designed for someone 6' or less and under 200. Not 6'2" 225 lbs. 2023 with 8k miles I have a glitch with the blind view monitor it's happened maybe 6-7 times where when you engage the signal the camera doesn't on the gauge cluster. Has gone away each time only after the car sits for several hours. Driver assist is good but not great like in my 2021 Honda Accord touring 2.0 t which was stolen. Got that 4K under MSRP at 36k. You have to be at about 37-38 the radio volume at +3 bass in tone settings with the right songs in good format to feel the floor mounted subs, feels decent though. Excellent drivetrain. It's hard to tell the transmission is shifting and comfort. And you know you're in Sports Plus because it's slaps you down into first at 30 mph when decelerating. Love the connected services I'm guessing you get that with every upper scale cars. Minimal turbulence inside the car when sunroof open itself or combined with windows open. Not enough is said about. I like the fact that it pops gears nicely on the outside but it's good and quiet on the inside, technology goes into that. Car looks amazing from a top view more than any other angle. Nearly impossible to find images of that
I've never heard of cars having "hood lights" nor I have I ever seen one in a car. Interesting 🤔

Luxuriously low gas tank. Lol I know you can afford to full tank it but it's just funny because I bet it's so fun to drive you probably burn through gas.
I actually exercise alot of discipline driving it. I keep it in eco mode and maybe once a week do I allow myself to put it into sport mode for like 10mins max. It tears through gas once you put it in sport mode and have some fun haha. Putting it in sport mode compared to eco completely transforms the car.

Spend that extra $30,000. For a AMG Mercedes or a MIII BMW. Even then with the mods you need to pay an additional 15k for the interior...
