Funny, im getting into a similar situations as you, catching little salmon on soft plastics when targeting bream or otherwise Looking forward to another estuary vid. Maybe you could target estuary perch further upriver? I hear they take rather well to surface lures as well.

Bream absolutely loves those chubby crank baits! The spot looks perfect for surface lures though, especially small poppers in windy days.
Will give the poppers a crack next time theres a bit of wind, cheers for the tip
