I don't get the whole 2-4 Subwoofers without being able to assign them L & R as well or is that possible in the setup stuff and is it supported by source content? P.S. I stopped keeping track of how it worked after 7.1

AV means audio/video Why would I want my receiver to receive VIDEO ??? I don’t get it???? I just want it to produce a high quality stereo sound. Is this really too much to ask???🤦🏼♀️
Umm.. Then buy a stereo receiver? AV receivers are for people who want to power speakers for both music and TV, because you can switch them to stereo mode. Stereo speakers are optimized for audio only. The AV receiver isn't receiving video.
@@roedebaer7623 So say you are running a projector, you have an HDMI go from that to the AVR, then if you have a PS5 or other consoles connected to the AVR It can transmit the 4k signals (video and audio) through the HDMI from the PS5 to your projector
It is just because of the way trends followed with HDMI. They tried to mainly phase out Optical in favor of the audio transmitting with the video over the HDMI. So now they have a bunch of HDMI input and often only 1 Optical which is crap for PC users that prefer using Display Port & Optical & still want to connect other optical devices or multiple PC or HTPCs etc. Now people would have to connect their GPU (graphics card) with an extra HDMI cable into the AV receiver to connect audio even if they are not using it for video. It is rather dumb imo, it wouldn't be that much trouble to add at least 2 optical ports on them. It also used to be common to see an optical output port as well, but you never see that anymore. For those wondering, HDMI can support 4K 120Hz but Display Port is needed for monitors running 4K 144Hz+.
Lmfao... 15.4 channels later and still only 1 for the Center that ~90% of the speaking audio is played through in shows and movies. Wouldn't hurt to have a Center "Height".
