  • A musical career doesn't get any better than Bob Dylan's. He is one of the best-selling musicians of all time, he’s won a Pulitzer and a Nobel, and now he is being recognised as a visual artist. But that last accomplishment took a while.

I soon learned about his artwork shortly after meeting him in July of 2013. I now very happily own 8 of his giclee prints and I often wondered why he chose a gallery in the UK to represent him. Now I know and I’m so happy he’s finally willing to expose this side of himself to the US. The level of appreciation of even these giclee prints are proof he’s being well received.

he didn't want to show them in the US before. I saw the first show in Eastern Germany in 2007, then the Milan one in 2013. Maybe he was shy in his homecountry. Go Bob, you are great.

Bob Dylan showed us all that pop songs can be socially and politically important - and also high art. He showed the Band and their generation of musicians how to revere their heritage by using it. He wrote his masterpiece after he'd been written off, and was awarded the Nobel prize in literature because he has furthered the English language by playing with it in public. He's continued to produce beautiful and important music for more than six decades, even though he's singing-impaired, and only kinda plays guitar. He's also written the finest book about music that I know of, he's the best DeeJay I've ever heard. Now this. It's almost not fair.

Amazing works in their breadth and content. His point of view is really interesting in that it is not directly in front, but a view from an angle or even from below looking up, which is unique. Can't wait until the show comes to S.F. Great job Jordana!

A great video. I finally could see more of his visual practice. It is necessary to make emphasis on all his artistic expressions. He deserves a real documentary., Drawings according every song are marvelous. Acrylic paintings are not just surprising, they reveal the past years of a Nation. A chronicle of an era. Isolation I believe it was a great state; in order to express all he had in mind or seen through his performances.
Sculptures are also interesting. He truly is familiar to iron.
What a great artist! Thanks for your information and critic.

I'm impressed. And I'm extremely critical of visual art. Especially Rock Stars, Actors, any public figure who takes up art. Take Gene Simmons as a recent example, he's selling a brand, and his work is a copy of pop art imagery. Dylan is showing his passion. I don't just like a few of Dylan's pieces, I like most of them. Visual art has been trapped in this perpetual plagiarism of branding like modern music has for over 2 decades, there's no new musical or visual movements.
