Now this is the best neck arrangement out of all the HBCU college's I love southern I'm a die hard fan and future alumni of southern university but I have to say idk ever since I heard Howard unuversitie's neck arrangement it really has me thinking DAMN! LOL
This is the best drumming in a marching band I've heard in a long damn time. I know it's an old video but it's new to me and the performance is absolutely amazing. A lot of times even great marching bands suffer from one section overpowering another but this is perfect all the way around!
This is a hellava arrangement, in fact like everyone else is saying, the best arrangement I've heard. My only knock is that this sounds more like I'm sitting in a jazz club as opposed to a football game. SWAC bands play with power and although power is not the catch all be all, it's LIT at football games.
WOW!!! This is great! Every single person who talks bad about HCBU style of marching is not talking bad about the volume. We are talking bad about the horrible intonation and articulation accuracy that many of these groups *coughsouthernuniversity* plays with. This group CRANKS, but they crank together, with impeccable pitch, perfect articulation accuracy, and my lord can they sing. Regardless of popularity, this group should be the pinnacle of what HCBU aims for. Incredible!
I just have a problem when there are plenty of white schools that sound like trash but they don't say "all white schools sound bad" Black people always get thrown together and never seen as individuals. Only white people get that luxury.
nice clean runs nice. I'm blown away because i'm so used to hearing The Jukebox and Gram oh and J-State nothing against those bands but these guys sound like a concert band on the field. AEA
Not even gon lie the trumpets at 1:45 got meee lmao I like it. BUT them tromboNessss at 2:05 thoughh and those barrys/euphoniums at 2:25 #Marchingsugarbearband much love. And question - This arrangement or SU's or both?? I like both
We played a version of this in band ,it was one of them few I knew the notes to without looking, and it was slower, more bass, lots of horns and great for football! Ayyyyyoooooo"
So many of there songs we do for cheer Luv these songs hopefully since I’m in 8th grade now playing with high school and middle school band we can play some of these songs
To all the future band directors including myself you would say this arrangement was a little overblown but music like this, I just have to say there is no other way around it that is what it's meant to be you just gotta love it!!! #feeling pumped and that's coming from a current trumpet player
True Musicianship at its best I gotta give a shout to the arranger who composed this arrangement! #Band Director in the Making! #Prairie View A&M College #Music Major! #Music is Life!
Just the crispness of the percussion's alone makes you do a light thizz face. If you know what that is then you know it is the most appropriate face to make lol
This THE BEST arrangement of neck I’ve ever heard in my life.

Howard may not have the biggest band but this version of "Neck" is the best I have heard.👏👏😄👏👏
That can only be expected since EU were HU students.
Facts! Aw HU!!!!!
That go-go drop throughout is 🔥.
Love the parts and the slight Go-Go beat of the drums. Our HBCU's truly have a different flavor depending on location. This is a whole vibe!
Just when I thought I’ve heard the best version of neck, I stumble upon the best version of neck.
I was thinking the same thing
Right
They changed their version after they heard ballous version (my high school)
WORD'EM UP
😂 must never been to Louisiana or heard southern
Stumbled across this one... Great job Howard!!!
I'm loving this, has a kinda jazzy, funky, r&b sorta vibe to it.
go go music‼️‼️
They added the Dc go go flare into it . Living in the area 25 years I can appreciate it
they hit those crazy chords super clean
Every single thing about this arrangement is absolutely amazing. TIGHT…Lovin it‼️

This was a studio session. Howard's band actually recorded an album back in the early 2000's.
That's why it sounds like a jazz club instead of a football game.

That's so true most hbcu bands dont even care abt tone
