When Playbeat 3 came out I was excited! The delivered samples and wild patterns are almost experimental and I found the whole thing inspirational. The only complaint was the limit of 8 tracks or samples. Audiomodern said “just use 2 instances in your DAW”, but I’m a Logic guy and found the Drum Machine Designer (DMD) and step sequencer / pattern editor more powerful. So I managed to export all the Playbeat samples into my sample library so I can use them in Logic, NI Maschine and other software. Sometimes I drag the midi of a cool Playbeat pattern into Logic and save it as a Logic user pattern. So Playbeat hasn’t taken off in popularity like I was expecting….i’m not sure why?
