  • To all my subscribers I just want to say I'll be back uploading shortly, I won't lie to you I just haven't been in the mood to record lately but I'm going to get back to it, my apologies
Sorry I forgot all about this one, sunroof leak fix. So I woke up one day and looked inside my 2007 Volvo XC90 only to find water all over the passenger floor this was a easy fix. Anyone can do this in a couple minutes with basic tools I hope this helps you out!!!

Thanks for expanding on the video. So many short videos don’t explain much.

Dude!, this video saved my ass. My wife was about make me take the 06'XC90 to a shop for the leak. You saved me a bunch of $$ that I didn't have to spend at a Volvo repair shop. I can't thank you enough. I used a piece of silicone tubing to extend the drain hose into the A-pillar opening where the rotted fitting was on both sides. I also had to pull up the carpet to vacuum out the water. I jacked up the back of the SUV to drain any remaining water from the rear seat floor to vacuum in the front. Those front seats are a quite heavy to remove. We've had this 06'XC90-V8 since 11/05. It now has 196,000miles on it with only a transmission rebuild as major repair. Oil change every 5k and hopefully, it'll last another 100k. I think the key is fix things as they break. Don't wait or it'll get worse.

Was having issues with my drive side low beam headlight. Turns out that the cem which on the driver side under the dash right near the door post got wet and fried. Checked under the carpet and was wet. Pulled the pillar cover and sure enough. The hose from the sunroof was popped off. Extended the line and ran it like suggested in the video. Worked like a champ. Also, assume that both sides are bad. The fix is easy. Do both sides. Thank you for posting this

Wow, I’m going to do this to my wife’s car when she gets home. Great video, simple job for a sweet outcome. It’s going to be no more puddles.

Thank you for the tutorial, I'm going out to my car and check my drain as I noticed my carpet is wet after driving home in a heavy rain storm.

Thanks, you like those Volvo 😆. XC90 is the first non-us I took for a test drive. My wife and kids thought I should buy it cuz the dealership had complementary ice cream. 🤔. Nicer ride but it ain’t nothing fancy.

I'm assuming you were able to put the "A" pillar trim panels on without crimping the drain tube at the hole where you pushed the tube in. Also my 2008 XC90 has 2 inches of spray foam on the bottom of the carpet. The form is soft like a sponge so any water draining down the cowl to the floor will cause the spray foam to soak the water up and it will stay wet forever. I had to remove the passenger seat and pull the carpet out. The floor mat was soaked and is now drying out in the sun.

Do you know if a leak like this can cause an electrical current draw that could then drain the battery?

Absolutely that water can go anywhere, also if it's on the passenger side I believe the amp is under the front seat. Driver's side you have your BCM and cluster.

Hi mate water in driver side footwell. Few droplets on top of carpet on passenger side I haven't got sunroof in my xc90 very unsure what the cause could be. Do you happen to know the location of the AC drainage from underneath the car?

Both sides?? If not remove or pull back the carpet on the affected side and you should see a rubber hose there. That hose is used to drain the condensation from the A/C. You need to clean it out using a metal hanger straightened out or maybe a hard plastic wire. Don't blow it out from down there because it will force the debris back into your system. Now I've read that you could access that hose from under the car as well but I think that would be harder. Good luck tell us how it worked out for you, and thanks for watching!!

I have water stains/wet area on drivers side pillar above dash after it rains. Is there also a drain on this side? I assumed windshield was leaking but haven’t done anything yet.
