You are right Andrew, there's nothing better than sowing your own seeds, watching them germinate and grow into plants. I recently potted on some foxgloves that were still in the seed tray from last year's sowing and the birds have now pulled most of them out of the pots. I don't mind as they've left a few of the bigger plants and I had been wondering where they were all going to go!. Can't blame my squirrel as I saw the birds doing it. When you were sowing the Ammi Majus, I thought Sarah Raven likes that then saw that you had her seed packet. I've started to direct sow my corncockle into pots and have had great success. I'm trying to cut down on my pricking out as I always sow too many different varieties of seeds. Although I love doing it, there's only so many hours in a day. Great to see you. xxx

Aw, thank you Wendy for watching. Sowing seeds is the best. I think that you have a much more intimate experience being there throughout the entire process from sowing, germination, potting on and planting. aw, I'm so sorry about your foxgloves. I bet that you were disappointed. It is an opportunity to buy some plants this year and collect the seeds again later this year 😀🙂 That's the thing about sowing too much. It is so easy to over sow. We all do it, but I try to resist the temptation. You are so right Wendy, only so many hours on the day 😀🙂 Thanks for watching and for your lovely comments 😊 xx

Great to see you behind the potting table again, Andrew! You know, you really have me curious about the Ammi Majus! Trying to plant more flowers for the ladybugs and hoverflies. They have discovered my garden and are really helping out with the aphids. Love your advice about oversowing. I did it with alyssum this spring. 😌 Thank you for a great video!

Aw, thank you so much 🙂. I very rarely get the chance anymore, as Paul loves his potting tray so much. Back on the day, however, I was the seed king 🤴 😀 The Ammi Majus is a stunning umbellifer and worth growing. I can't wait for these wonderful seeds to germinate 😁 Great idea. The more flowers we plant throughout the year, the more all wildlife will share our spaces with us. Aw, thanks 😊 it's true, because we have all done it. I could quite happily so ever seed in a packet, but if I'm not able to use them or share them all, there is very little point. Aw, thanks for all your wonderful comments . They are appreciated. So glad that you enjoyed it 😊 ☺️

It's lovely to see you happy to be sowing again :) About growing too many seedlings, I get it; one thing one could do though in that case, is to offer some to loved ones, or even swap them with other plants loving people :) I'm not a big fan of orange flowers (I do have the california poppies self seeding everywhere...I need to make my new poppies (cream and pink !) sown and progressively get rid of the other ones....About that, Some flowers are very easy to get new seeds naturally at the end of the season (I'm sure you know, but maybe other viewers/beginners don't ?). I'm still sooooo late at sowing, I had so much to do, I have dahlias growing in pots in my mini green house, and a pepper I bought as a big seedling. I hope I won't be too late for sowing a few seeds this year ! Anyway, thanks again for your videos, I love finding a new one on my Yt home page :))

Thank you so much for your lovely comments 😊 I had a blast, as always. It is certainly is great to collect your own seed.😊 we have been doing it for a very long time. It saves so much money and is such a rewarding and relaxing task too. My favourite seed is Aquilegia seed. Lovely shiny black seeds Paul is the same. He does not like the vibrant colours like I do, but that's the wonderful thing about gardening. We borrow snipits of ideas and then add put own take, which is amazing. Wow, I love California poppies. They are so vibrant, too. We always more often than not collect seed ready for next year. There is nothing better 😊 have fun with your Dahlias and the pepper 🌶 seedling sounds so awsome 😀 It is simply the best time of year now. So much to do amd so much to look forward to. Aw, it's a pleasure to be here passing on knowledge and sharing a magical journey together. Gardening is a constant learning process and that's what makes it so wonderful. You enjoy sowing some seeds yourself when you can 😊 and we would love to hear what you sow. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely words. It is appreciated. Happy Gardening 😊

@@MadAboutGardening Oh I loooove aquilegia seeds too ! I took some from flowers in a park last summer :) They're as fun as nigellas's, in their own way :) Last year I sowed some nigella seeds directly on the soil and I had a few. And now I can see a lot growing and I've done nothing, self seeding happiness all around ! One thing that is difficult when you're still a beginner is to know what is growing: some weeds you don't want, or some plants you love that self seeded or that you sowed a bit everywhere, whishing for them to come back the next year. So you just have to leave them a bit more to see what they grow into ^^' Oh today I did myself a big treat, I bought a pink/red dwarf water lily (I hope you call it like that in english) called Xia Fé, I feel guilty and happy at the same time ! A few weeks ago I did some videos to make an insta reel but it is way too long so I'll try to post it on Yt, it's how I planted a beautiful rose in a container. Thanks for your answer, say hello to Paul :)

@lafemmeabeille They are just gorgeous, aren't they 😆 Aquilegia seeds rule. They certainly are fun, too. Aw, I bet they will be beautiful, but this is the most tricky thing for people new to gardening, unlike ourselves, who have been gardening since childhood. It is about identifying the difference between seedlings 🌱 which ones should stay and which ones need to go 😄 The water lolly sounds so beautiful 😍 I bet that you are very excited about it. Nothing beats bringing a plant home. Keep up with your videos. It's a fantastic way to share your passion for plants. You keep filming x Roses are my favourite. I love David Austin roses, but a huge fan of roses in general. I have been since I was little when mum had lots, nam and my great nan did as well as everyone in there area where we live now. Of course over the years the gardens in this area have lost them, but I love walking past each garden as a child and seeing an array of gorgeous colours and scents. Happy Gardening and thank you for all your lovely comments. I will say hello to Paul too 😀🙂
