Thank you! And I understand that. I actually explained my reasoning behind why I said that in a response to a comment by "N S". If you care to read it, you can see it if you scroll below. Thank you for checking out my video anyway, and I'm glad you enjoyed!
Yea I’d like to check out the PDK as well. The car you showed is freaking gorgeous. I love the 911, but the Cayman is in some ways better looking than the 911. While we call it an entry car - it’s a dream car to have. Great review -
@@tonyhector4842 Thank you very much Tony! I really appreciate it. And yes, the Cayman is a dream car. I'm sure the 6-speed is super slick, but the PDK definitely makes up for being an auto because the shifts are just blisteringly fast. I would of course recommend driving one so you can see for yourself! So you know what's crazy about this Cayman? The owner, Andrew (my friend I've known since middle school) bought this bad boy used when he was 22 years old, daily drives it all year, and he lives in NY lol
What do you mean " entry level sports car " are you Rockefeller's lost grandson? Entry level would be mazda miata, Subaru brz, mustang fm, Nissan 370z etc.
LMAO good point. I more so meant "entry-level Porsche", but there are a few reasons why I said that. Andrew did buy this used, and at a relatively good price for what it was back then. Also, if I remember correctly, this was the first car he's ever bought on his own in his life. His dream was to get a McLaren 570s one day. I totally get your point though. For many people, ANY Porsche is not even close to being on their radar, which is fine. However, when you consider the other much higher-end models of Porsches, as well as many other sports cars, they can go FAR beyond the price tag of this base model Cayman that was used as a daily-driver in New York all year long. For all of those reasons, including Andrew's age and financial status at the time, this was an "entry-level sports car" to him in my opinion at the time based on the circumstances. Looking back, it's very funny to me because I now own a 1990 NA Miata; a very bare-bones, tried and true ACTUAL entry-level sports car. Even though they are both VERY fun cars, they are not even close to same bracket of affordability. Thanks for calling me out though, lol that made me laugh! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the review, and have a good one. 👍

Yes, for the base Cayman, it performed really well in my opinion. It wasn't blisteringly fast in the straights by any means (it only had 275 HP). However, the speed at which the PDK dual clutch shifted when you're banging through the gears, the nice crackling exhaust, and the superb handling in pretty much any corner is where this car came alive and felt very, very quick.
@@DoubleClutchAutoReviews I was think of getting a base just because you can enjoy the power! I toyed with the idea to get a gt350 but Man it is so fast!! It was amazing but I feel it’s almost like it’s over powered! Lol! I can’t believe I am saying that!
You can shift with the stick too. You push it forward to upshift and pull it back to downshift. Also, the shifters on the steering wheel gives you more versatility when shifting 🏎
I actually just drove a 2015 GTS last week! I will be posting that video shortly. I have not driven a brand new one yet though if that's what you're asking.
Hey Chris! I'm very glad to tell you that since this video I've upgraded my microphone, and my video audio quality has improved dramatically compared to this review. If you'd like, check out one of my more recent reviews (I'd recommend the 2022 Apex or the 2022 Wagoneer). I think you will be much happier with the audio in those. If you do, let me know what you think! I'd really appreciate it, and thanks again for watching. -Mark
Good review. Thank you. I agree with everyone except it being an entry level sports car.

Good car. I have the manual version and it rocks.
@Tony Hector Nice man! I've driven two PDK Caymans now. I can't wait to drive a manual one.

it seems quick for a base!!

can you shift with the stick too?
Unfortunately no, this car was an auto (dual clutch) with paddle shifters, not a standard.

you drive the cayman daily ?
