I have been a Mustang fan since I was 11. I currently own a stroked 351w 88 Mustang but this is my favorite mustang of all time, oh the things I would do for it.
Absolutely the nicest Eleanor package I have ever seen. And knowing how much it costs to build one yourself, the pricing is VERY fair. I want those gauges!!!!
After watching th original gone in 60 car chase, then know that 1 car did all the stunts is amazing. the fact after all that damage it still drove. Yet they needed 11 just to do a remake. Still love the car. Man, do i want one.
if you think about it, eleanor really is a true work of art for muscle cars. even if you dont like mustangs, every person i have met loves the eleanor mustang. plus it pretty much started the revolution of the gran touring look for american muscle. the up most respect to the eleanor mustang! great car, keith
This car is now located in Norway by a family that collects famous movie cars. The cars i know they got is This car, The Eclipse and Skyline from 2 Fast 2 Furious and the one and only Dodge Charger that was in the last Fast and Furious. Saw all of them at Oslo Motor Show and i have to say that this was my favorite! Gotta love this car! :D
i completely agree with the guy under me. I sometimes dream about this car. Its kind of sick but i watch the movie AT LEAST once a week every week. you guys are sweet!
That was unique classic cars that went out of business not everyone can do this kind of quality craftsmanship with this drivetrain this is not a backyard mechanic job its well worth it
Well done guys great job me and my brother are going to try and tackle making a Elenor from a 67 mustang in a kit form but because i love this car so much i have added this video to my youtube so i can watch it when all the time thanks for the vids Jason
i see your point but its not just about the performance, its more about the uniqueness. A car is a true representation of yourself as a person (imo). having a rare machine thats pretty powerful is well worth the money if you can afford it and like it.
For an $140,000 or $180,000. You can get this car at auction for $90,000 (including commissions) or buying it off of someone for less than $80,000. These guys got caught swapping VINs so I don't know how you could ever trust them. Also the dashboard is different in the movie. There are plenty of replicas made of this car. 11 Cars were made for the movie 3 were used and of those 3, 2 were destroyed. The other 8 cars sell for $250,000 depending upon if the person wants to sell. For $180,000 why not just buy an original for $300,000 and it will retain its $250,000 value instead of dropping to $80,000. Original sold at Mecums in May for $1,000,000.
watched a documentary 4-27-11. A reverse in color was shown. Where it's gray it was black and where it's black it was gray. He called the gray -pepper gray. But it was the only one i've seen in a different color than what we all are used to. It looked really bad ass black, which was originally what one guy wanted the color to be as of what was said in the documentary.
man i wouldnt care if the car is heavy or any of the stupid little things, that car puts a smile on my face anytime i see it, you can keep your ferraries/supercars i would take this anyday because there is a legacy with that car
Well, I drive my dad's '66 Pontiac GTO so I would love to drive this thing. Personally I like old cars more than new cars, but I still use a new car as a daily driver. I like the ruggedness of muscle cars. There are no airbags, 2 point seatbelt, no abs, no traction control, no stability control, and a manual transmission. Its just you, the car, and the road and thats how it should be.
There used to be a dealer in Texas that had the rights to this I thought. I think it was Sanderson Ford and they had 3 models to choose from. there was the base 351 version, and then the 2 this guy here has, basically to the ' T ' and the only difference is they didn't have all the " Gone In 60 Seconds " or " Eleanor " logos all over the place. Regardless, it's still one badass machine!!!
The answer to that question is simple: they use the best technology available for these builds, and that technology doesn't come cheap. In that regard, they're like Unique Performance ... however, unlike Unique Performance, they actually make sure the customers get what they want.
@DizzyMan24 It wasn't so much the damage that they needed 11, just that they built them for specific tasks... One went insanely fast (part in the flood overflow channel), a few were built for jumps, one was built for superior handling, another for going fast in reverse, a few with minor to major damage for show, a few for in-car shots (many did not even have an interior) and so on... The original only needed 1 because it was built like a tank, they just did minor repairs onsite...
Yes, stevetheguymcg, there was. It was an outfit called Unique Performance out of Farmers Branch, Texas. They had a licensing arrangement with Carroll Shelby to produce the GT500E, a Shelby Mustang based on the Eleanor vehicle. Unique Performance has gone out of business due to ... questionable business practices investigated by the Farmers Branch Police Department.
Haro's are totally awesome! I really wanted a Haro when I was your age, no shit. I didn't have one but a buddy of mine did, he used to let me ride it sometimes. 70's muscle cars are awesome too especially when you have cool parents who pay for you to fix them up. You are one lucky dude, a Haro AND a Camaro. Are you planning on driving your Camaro to your graduation? Man the L-L-L-L-Laaaaadies are going to love you when you roll up in that monster! 350ci? What's with the F.U?
And the thing is, I was a fan of Unique Performance when I first heard about them from an episode of the 'Rides' TV show on TLC. I became a bigger fan after seeing them on Hot Rod TV. I couldn't believe it when I first heard about the allegations and problems. I wonder what Shelby will do now.
Wow! Very nice car for those that don't know how to build cars! And if you happen to have an extra $100+ grand laying about. Very nice work and great for those that want to go fast and look good and have no idea why. The workmanship is impeccable though.
Unique Performance didn't build the cars in the movie, chip foose and a couple of other guys did, the car itself was designed by steve stanford. The owner of unique performance saw the movie and got the same idea as jason, one thing though, Unique performance didn't just make the GT500E they made a Foose Camaro, Foose Challenger, GT350SR(also they had a couple of concept vehicles they made with foose), that's a pretty big company
these look nicer than the unique performance eleanors, i'm building a '66 fastback, i've been thinking of making it look like a gt350R cause that'sz been one of my favorite cars since i was like 12
No matter what, if you are a petrolhead, this has to be in your "top 10 garage"... I live in Denmark, and about 10 miles from me. lives the guy who ownes the only real eleanor in DK. he passed me on the freeway some time back, and the sound... allmost made me wet my pants... Maybe i should trade in my skyline... (and borrow the rest from the bank hehe)
Zjet24, Unique Performance was making the Shelby-licensed GT500E, which was based on the Eleanor vehicle in the movie. Due to this licensing arrangement, they were eligible for the Shelby American Registry, meaning they were authentic Shelbys. However, the licensing arrangement fell apart because of problems at Unique ... including accusations of fraud that others have mentioned here. Shelby's still hopeful that customers will get their GT500Es, but since Unique's out of business...
@collegeparkwhiteboy nevermind. i had it completely ass backwards. i always thought their were more cleveland engines that windsors but it turns out that all those 351's in the trucks and vans are windsors.
its really cool that this is a licensed gone in sixy seconds car- but there (in my opinion) too many gone in sixty seconds emblems and logos. i think it puts way more attention on the movie and not enough on the car. put more pony badges on the car and its literally flawless.
@doritostheking Yep they sure did, and the later build UP cars actually had the fixes installed. The fixes do help with the cars driveability. Some of the improvements included XFI 8 stack EFI and the super snakes are much more reliable and have more power to boot.
You can build it, even if you don't have a shop. Just make sure that you do some researching on everything before you get it. Be prepared to spend tons of money, depending on the condition of the body that you're getting.
yeah, this car looks and sounds really great, but i don't know, if i'd like to have written "gone in 60 seconds" instead of "shelby gt500" on the sides of that car, or on the hood, even if it's only on the inside :/ but all in all, that's really great work!
A pig with lipstick is still a pig, same goes with this MUSTANG. It was BORN a Mustang and no matter what you do or hang on it, it started it's life as a Mustang. Period. (It is a nice restomod, though.)
Simply put, there were some Unique Performance customers that didn't get their cars and they're angry about it ... and rightly so, from what I understand. Also, Unique Performance is under investigation for 'title-washing' allegations and their shop was raided by the Farmers Branch Police Department as a result of these allegations. The worst part is that Shelby is getting the blame.
I live in the town where these are made, always drive by to see what cars they have completed. Love the work!
wow, that exhaust sounds beautiful
Saw the press release, and it looked incredible. Good to finally see it in action, every last detail, even down to the exhaust note.
Very cool. Nice to see a shop not afraid to take on projects like this.
Gonna order one as soon as I win the lottery! I already own a gorgeous Shelby GT500 and would love to have this awesome Eleanor. Great video guy's.
I have been a Mustang fan since I was 11. I currently own a stroked 351w 88 Mustang but this is my favorite mustang of all time, oh the things I would do for it.
yeah, its agreed. youll be seeing me very soon.
shes friggin gorgeous, just pure beauty.
make amazing classics.
amazing,
Mel Con.
Sick.... I just fell in love all over again with this car.
Absolutely the nicest Eleanor package I have ever seen. And knowing how much it costs to build one yourself, the pricing is VERY fair.
I want those gauges!!!!

i envy the people who work on these vehicles of pure beauty
This is car, for kings. Perfect buy, if you have money! Greatings from Croatia!
I just fell inlove with this car all over again.
If I ever win the lotto this is the first thing I am going to buy. This is so awesome it makes me want to cry.
best car ever produced! so mad and agressive! If they dont make these when I finaly have enough money to buy one, Ill make my own!!!
i completely agree with the guy under me. I sometimes dream about this car. Its kind of sick but i watch the movie AT LEAST once a week every week. you guys are sweet!
my dream car, this must be the most beautiful car ever created!!
That was unique classic cars that went out of business not everyone can do this kind of quality craftsmanship with this drivetrain this is not a backyard mechanic job its well worth it

i wish they would start making these in the factory and sell them in the market today. the best ca everrrr!!!
This car is 10 years old now... still rocks

Yup I remember they got shut down.. For swapped vin's.. And stolen car's.. With fake vin #'s.. Too..
watched a documentary 4-27-11. A reverse in color was shown. Where it's gray it was black and where it's black it was gray. He called the gray -pepper gray. i want to drive it so much, that engine makes the greatest noise ever
man i wouldnt care if the car is heavy or any of the stupid little things, that car puts a smile on my face anytime i see it, you can keep your ferraries/supercars i would take this anyday because there is a legacy with that car

this is an absolutely beautiful peice of engineering, mean kudos to u guys, lol, if only i had the money
This is the kind of car I always wanted: retro design, but with state-of-the-art technology
this will be the one of the only mustangs i will ever give my respect too as a chevy guy
god...the sound of the engien is just bliss
If I was a millionaire, I would buy this car in a heartbeat. I honestly believe that this is the most beauitiful car ever made.
this brings a tear to my eye
oh yea i checked on there website and it does say it wow thats great, nice to know that they think of things like that
There used to be a dealer in Texas that had the rights to this I thought. I think it was Sanderson Ford and they had 3 models to choose from. there was the base 351 version, and then the 2 this guy here has, basically to the ' T ' and the only difference is they didn't have all the " Gone In 60 Seconds " or " Eleanor " logos all over the place. Thats such a nice car it is literally my dream car. Just shows how materialistic I am.
The answer to that question is simple: they use the best technology available for these builds, and that technology doesn't come cheap. In that regard, they're like Unique Performance ... however, unlike Unique Performance, they actually make sure the customers get what they want.
Lucky man to be able to build these cars.
Iam pretty sure one of these would help my mid life crisis . Great car .
This car is amazing!!! I love that!!!! I want ELEONOR!!!
@DizzyMan24

Why not?? I'm 16 and I'm sure I would love this car more than a lot of adults.
GT500 Eleanor and a 1969/70 Chevelle SS would be my perfect 2-car classic garage.
I already have the body, now quarter million on parts! this specific vehicle is my future.
oh my god what a fricking sound those things make, even on idle. When I become rich your my first stop :))
All you need is a '67 Mustang Fastback, '67 Mercury Cougat tail lights, the Elenor body kit, and alot of time.
$189,000 car, filmed with a 39¢ potato.
All you need is is a bright yellow '71 mach1 you got the real McKoy - this is as convincing as a Star Wars toy.
Yes, stevetheguymcg, there was. It was an outfit called Unique Performance out of Farmers Branch, Texas. They had a licensing arrangement with Carroll Shelby to produce the GT500E, a Shelby Mustang based on the Eleanor vehicle.

LMFAO, awesome movie quote! i don't think anyone else caught it, fit perfectly to the video and your post. damn thats my laugh of the day
And the thing is, I was a fan of Unique Performance when I first heard about them from an episode of the 'Rides' TV show on TLC. I became a bigger fan after seeing them on Hot Rod TV. I couldn't believe it when I first heard about the allegations and problems. I wonder what Shelby will do now.
god, im gonna start saving 189,000 now haha. i really want that damn car. the 750hp one though. just incredible
I still want this car...
DAMN MAN. THAT CAR IS SICK
Even Halicki's official website says it's a QUOTE "1971 playing the role of a 1973".
Nice eleanor mustang man.
@1brotz2 both movies make me wanna cry. especially the 1974 one.
What a beauty!!
the car sounds so beautiful its...cargasmic.
i think you can buy kits that make a mustang look like eleanor(maybe not officially). and what a car indeed. cheers. =)
god if I EVER win a lotto or something of that sort....this is going to be one of my first purchases
eleanors are my second faqvorite stang the 67 fastback is my fav
That car is a gun in wheels! I just got to have one!!
Wow! Very nice car for those that don't know how to build cars! And if you happen to have an extra $100+ grand laying about. Very nice work and great for those that want to go fast and look good and have no idea why. The workmanship is impeccable though.

where is the Overhaulin' episode with the Shelby Mustang do-over from "Gone in 60 Seconds" they did for that paralyzed man? That was one cool show.
what a masterpiece!
That's how classic kicks modern in the butt
the gone in 60 seconds logos ruin the car .
these look nicer than the unique performance eleanors, i'm building a '66 fastback, i've been thinking of making it look like a gt350R cause that'sz been one of my favorite cars since i was like 12
that mustang is tooo wicked.
Makes me wanna Cry ......Freedom on wheels...!
for those of you who could work with or own a very exotic car or sportscar, consider yourself blessed by Mighty God.
one of my favorite cars...
i gonna steal a bank to get one!!
=)
Very nice.
$180,000 is nothing for that amazing piece of machinery
this would be at the top in my garage including a hurst/olds 442(lighting rod shifting),burt reynolds edition trans am,and a e-rod camaro
No matter what, if you are a petrolhead, this has to be in your "top 10 garage"... I'm with ya. Call me crazy, I'm 14, but I'm saving up and when I'm 16 I'm buyin' a used, old '67 and me and my uncle are fixing that shit up.
If I win the lottery this company will be hearing from me :D
the real car didnt actually get crushed, thank god. and i almost cried too... and a gm guy!
@collegeparkwhiteboy nevermind. i had it completely ass backwards. i always thought their were more cleveland engines that windsors but it turns out that all those 351's in the trucks and vans are windsors.

@MasterExplosivo I wouldn't want that stuff either. Makes it look like a souvenir.
Steve Stanford designed Eleanor, Foose built it. So we owe alot to Stanford for getting people into Shelby again.
@doritostheking Yep they sure did, and the later build UP cars actually had the fixes installed. The fixes do help with the cars driveability. Some of the improvements included XFI 8 stack EFI and the super snakes are much more reliable and have more power to boot.

It sounds fucking amazing when they take it out on the street.
@Daniels1999 the stunts were made with ONE car, but otherwise you are compleatly right, there were 2 eleanors in the original
"they realize, that Im not a maniac" *floors it*
A pig with lipstick is still a pig, same goes with this MUSTANG. It was BORN a Mustang and no matter what you do or hang on it, it started it's life as a Mustang. Period. (It is a nice restomod, though.)

@MysleZe This car is custom built. I don't know how much they charge for each replica, but it's expensive. Both in the U.S. and in Europe.
