In this how-to tutorial Tyler shows you how easy it is to take your stock Sportster's cockpit and turn it into something exciting and custom. Changing out your handlebars can drastically change the look, feel, and handling of your motorcycle and are extremely easy to install. Tyler walks you through the step by step disassembly of a 1994 Harley-Davidson 1200 Sportster stock handlebar and control set up. Then walks you through how easily it is to install a new set of our Narrow Rabbit Ear handlebars and the capabilities of keeping your stock controls.
With our Rabbit Ear handlebars we have a lot of options for you to choose from. Hey, I have your Frisco tank and I was wondering if these bars would have enough clearance, as the tank sits higher than stock
yes you should have enough clearance. if you go to the actual listing there is dimensions there. If you really are worried messier from the top triple tree where your bars would go and see the height of the bend and see how much it will be. I had a shovelhead with Frisco sportster tank and it was completely fine.
Is there any way to keep the indicator lights as well with the speedometer?
if you got dimpled bars and yes you can run the same bulky lights if you wanted to. just not our preference and they may hit the tank if mounted low.
So I ride a 2015 sportster 48. Does that mean I need the “dimpled” bars?
if you want to keep your stock controls yes you want to use dimpled. if you are deleting turn signals and starter from bars etc you can run smoothed but need to do some re wiring.
48’s can only run clamp on style bars unless you get a joker machine upper triple tree.
What size brake cables would be recommended with these bars? I just bought your rabbit ear bars but not the narrow ones.
Btw I have an 09 Nightster 1200xl with stock handlebars and cables

We were just demonstrating how to install these bars, we would not run it this way. We highly suggest always getting the right size cables and cleaning up the bars of cluttered huge turn signals and big mirrors by replacing them etc.
i'm fixated on that gallon jug of wd-40 in the background!
Living in Europe…. Wondering if adding the mirrors would look very stupid with rabbit bars or not. Anyone tried it before?
Lowbrow sells mirrors with clamps so you can attach them in the regular spot by the grips or move it towards the bottom of the handlebars out of the way. I think TC Bros or Prism supply sells one that mounts into the triple tree pinch bolt, but it's more expensive
Just bought these and installed them, also did a 3 inch tank lift and now theres not enough clearance, do u have risers available for this? 1999 883 sporty.

What is the safest way to totally remove the speedometer and turning signals?
trace where the wires and cables go and un hook them, do not cut if you can.

looked like your throttle cable didn't release the throttle back you did it by your hand to bring back. need to readjusting the cables. lol

Watch the effin brake switch you can break it easily if you aint careful.
