- The Butchers nails are known as a horrific rage inducing torture device, however they are actually incredibly sophisticated and misunderstood

*Edit - Lore correction, as of the latest World Eater Codex, the World Eaters are still implanting the nails into new recruits so bit of a mistake on my part. Guess im a bit dusty from my time away
Survived the Holiday - thought making a video about brain nails would be appropriate considering how cooked my brain feels
Good to be back, lets start slamming the lore
why do you always upload at 12 or 1 am lmao
Hello Majorkill,
Would you please make some lore videos on the Imperial Truth, the Imperial Creed, the Ecclesiarchy, and the High Lords of Terra? Pretty please? Thank you.
Fair enough, to bad im still in uni
you went to lagos ???
how tf did you not visit aljezur wi«hile you were here
You should make p*rn, "Desperate carnal housewives f*cked by a Australian"
Angron : has a wholesome ability, relieving people of pain and trauma
Universe : no
A grimdark fate for sure
Brilliant 😂👏
Like Chris Tarrant on “Millionaire”
“We don’t wanna give you that.”
Chaos gods: "Not on my watch"
That's 40K, baybee!
Angron could have been a top-tier primarch. It’s truly tragic what was robbed from him...
The world eaters would of been one of my faves if angron didn’t get those nails in his skull
So I feel ya
Angron would have been a dope Healer class for the primarches.
@@stonepedal768he would of been a super empath, but too bad assholes with access to dangerous technology exists
It's based that he became the most 40k primarch
I love how some escaped World Eaters discovered meditative techniques to counter the Butcher's Nails and avoid Khorne, yet almost every other Chaos Space Marine didn't even have enough willpower to say "yeah nah maybe not" before agreeing to getting brainblasted by all the other Chaos gods. Like all those Marines had turbo brain damage and yet they still saw how stupid the idea of joining Chaos is
there were actually quite a lot of traitor legion marines who were able to reject chaos and stay loyalist, they became blackshields and disavowed their legions. Coincidentally most of them were the original terran recruits. the iron warriors and night lords actively reject the chaos gods despite being completely traitorous
Angron was supposed to be a Cleric but they forced spec him as a barbarian.
Here's a -8 to wisdom and a forved class change. ❤
I would have left the table to rage in the garden!
Angron without the nails:
"No, Vulkan! That unarmed child has surrendered!"
Oh god imagine Vulcan with the nails.... he a perpetual so the nails wouln't kill him and he is the physically stronger primarch.
@@gabrielbelouche3954Did "Blood Dragons/Wyrms" is good name for Khornate Salamanders?😉
@@gabrielbelouche3954 that would basically be the hulk with a car battery attached to his balls at all times.
Nah, the nails would be easily removed in Vulcan's case. Just let him burn up in the atmosphere of a planet. His body will regenerate, the nails will not. The nails are not a natural part of him so they don't come back after heavy damage. Angron, on the other hand, is not a perpetual so the nails cant be removed without destroying his brain permanently.
@@pleaseenteranamelol711 Very true, though they would never know this unless Vulcan actually got killed first
You know, if you also consider the theory that the Primarchs' origin planets were not random but selected by their warp god soul, it makes Angron's tragedy even more cruel. It would imply that his god was drawn to this planet perhaps in a desire to soothe the suffering of a majority of its inhabitants, in accordance with Angron's empath abilities. Another way compassion is severely punished in the 40k universe.
The fact that the Nails reduced
World Eaters from a proud Legion with a code of honour and a sense of brotherhood to a mob of crazed, murderous thugs is a testament to their deteriorating power. Even Khârn went from the most level-headed and reasonable World Eater to a bloodthirsty berserker because of Angron's "gift"
Also, my theory is that Khorne played some role in the Nails' creation. The fact that the presence of a psyker causes immense pain to all warriors implanted with Butcher's Nails, combined with their effect of giving momentary pleasure from slaughter is just too much of a coincidence. Perhaps Khorne influenced the DAoT engineers to prepare the Nails for his Champion, in a similar way how Tzeentch created the Planet of Sorcerers for Thousand Sons.
Also if you’re a psycher if you get implanted with the nails you eventually explode
"The War Hounds developed a reputation for victory, although at a cost, and it was said every assault they conducted ended in only one of two ways: victorious slaughter or simple slaughter, either of which left the foe in no condition to resist further. However effective the Legion was, there were many who fought alongside them who found them also to be unpredictable, intemperate and dangerous to anything that stood in their path, combatant, civilian or otherwise."
This is what the wiki says, the world eaters were savages way before meeting angron.
Khorn doesn’t think that far ahead
As an spanish, I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoyed much spanish people. To be fair you traveled to the most touristic places in Spain were people hate tourist for how much of them there are. If you give another chance to different places in Spain I hope it goes better.
It's funny to hear "spanish people are very patriotic" when half of Spain hates their country, except when they travel to other countries XD
But yes, maybe now is not the best time to go to those places.
#notallspaniardshatemajorkill
Yes treat the ppl that help your economy lmao
As a resident of barcelona im sorry about your bad experience. Like others have said i would recomend going to other parts of spain equally as beautiful.
Oi where my Spanish Majorkill fans at?! +1 to all the above, hopefully it doesn't deter you from visiting us again in future!
I make it sound dramatic I do love Spain (been a few times) but the Catalionians were a piece of work haha
6:46 And when the Horus Heresy broke out, many World Eater Loyalists chose to remain true to the Imperium and fought and fell in battle against the Traitor Legions.
Just waiting for the video about how each of the pre heresy priamrchs would have reacted to being in guillimans situation of waking up go the current 40k setting and ruling , can't wait.
This needs to happen.
That would make for some prime watching
Yes, I wanna know what Russ or Dorn would do, or even Konrad or Angron😂😂😂
MAKE IT HAPPEN MAJOR!
Need this
Eldar really screwed up Angron by ambushing him and weakened him enough to get captured and enslaved by the Nucerian high riders.
All because they tried to prevent Angron from becoming Khorne's champion and committed Self-Fulfilled Prophecy as a result.
ikr, its really stupid. Its better if the mission was in fact to turn Imperium's empath primarch into a broken pos and ensure the failure of the great crusade.
This is why I blame the dirty space knife ears for the fuckary that was and is angron not Big E
Never trust a Chaos God spawner.
Least stupid space elves
The fact that baby angron survived an eldar dead squad is one of the worst bullshits of the lore, so yeah.
I love the world eaters they're tragic fall because of angrons ever increasing insanity is such a great story in my opinion
I agree with this, one of the most interesting aspects of the legion to me is the ones who remained loyal with the nails… I’ve always wondered about that, they are also my favorite faction for the same reasons… also the horns look great!
The last bit of the video is wrong - the WE 9th edition codex mentions that Butcher Surgeons often put the nails into Astartes joining the WE Legion, and the Angron book released at the same time actually has a scene of one of the main characters getting the nails implanted towards the end
Betrayer is such a good book. I could totally see Angron being the "friendship" primarch, due to his presumed empathic / healing powers and the desire of his sons to relate to their father.
One thing to add to the tragedy - the world eaters had a very stable gene seed (as did the word bearers). With strong numbers and strategems that might have focused on preserving marine life they could have been as large and successful as the ultra-marines.
I wonder how Angron's ability would've interacted with those of Sanguinius and the Blood Angels, and if maybe big E intended interactions like that
That last bit about the nails not being common anymore is wrong. The latest World Eaters codex states that every Khorne Berzerker is given them by the Berzerker-Surgeons of the legion.
Yeah, that thought came to me as well. If there's anything more precious in the World Eaters, its their geneseed and the surgeons.
@@faiflowright01they are so depleted of apothecaries in fact, they choose some mortal slaves and force them to learn how to operate on Astartes
The idea of a “berserker surgeon” is laughable. Like what separates them from normal surgeons? Does the Berserker use a chainsaw and a big hammer instead of a scalpel?
@@TheCorrodedMan
Welcome to 40K
@@TheCorrodedMan normal apothecaries say "Fuck"and get back to work when the artery they just closed starts bleeding again, berserker apothecary says "Fuck it" and rips his patients in half
Definitely one of the most tragic and disturbing fates in the setting. Angron never wanted to be what he was after he left his homeworld. The nails pushed him down a path that would cause the most violence with his will slowly deteriorating. Angron definitely would have a been a “Horus” in that his aura would have been insane(his greatest gift) and his empathic abilities for taking away pain and healing could have manifested into so much more like being able to “feel” his brothers and sons and turned the tide for the loyalists through their campaigns. Think of it as a battle meditation from KOTOR
Do a video on the chief librarian from each legion.
It's crazy and kind of sad to think Angron might have been a healer primarch instead.
Angron had the ability to relieve others of their mental torment before getting the nails in his skull, he would have possibly been able to keep Conrad Kurze from going mad. It's probably safe to say that when the butchers nails were placed in Angron, 2 loyalists were basically lost from one event. Truly some grimdark shit.
World Eaters: "NOTICE US!"
Angron: "No."
I like the fact that the Emperor actively tried to help Angry Ron. That's nice.
Majorkill put his usual proimperium spin on things. The emperor chose to remove angron from the gladiator planet against his will, leaving them to die. Pretty much turning angron against the emperor forever after.
@@benedictrose6888
He himself has mentioned that fact many times and even called it one of the Emperor's dumbest decisions lol.
I refuse to believe that there was nothing the emperor could have done. Even if the nails couldn’t be removed there could have been some way to mitigate their effects.
Yeah, bro healed Corax, who had crashed ribcage, broken bones, organs and muscles torn in a flinch of a dick while being bound to a Golden throne but couldn't help Angron in a peaceful time, having entire intellectual might of Imperium available. Like bro, one of the Thousand sons could keep severed Custodes head alive to get information, I'm pretty sure biomancy on a brain which is constantly regenerating by itself is not so hard
@@argeltal_thewordbearer
Those are entirely different from a brain but I do agree that something could've been done for Angron. Removing the Nails might turn him into a vegetable? Well, just heal the brain. You'd think DAOT humanity have finally invented something that was able to cure brain vegetation or just use your OP pls nerf psyker powers to heal it yourself.
Finally!!! I’m so glad you made a video about the Nails.
We have seen emotion and kindness in the emporer. He probably had his reasons for rushing the grabbing of his son like that.
It's something to imagine the emporer in a state of conflicting sadness and anger asking for help to save his son and for the first time in a long time unable to stop or help. Likely reacting the same way he did when he came face to face with horus, sad and angry
Hello Majorkill,
Would you please make some lore videos on the Imperial Truth, the Imperial Creed, the Ecclesiarchy, and the High Lords of Terra? Pretty please? Thank you.
I think the butchers nails actually went the "make them severely retarded" route , and put Angron so far onto the spectrum that he came full circle and picked up all the high-chromosome-count muscle mass along the way.
Cheers from Bavaria, mate! Glad you enjoyed.
Angron could've had Apothecary powers but scaled up to Primarch levels of awesome. Neat. 🙂
Majorkill mate, I like how your original hair colour is starting to merge with the blonde. 😉
The irony of how events can shape entire chapters is one of the things I love about 30k and primarch lore, angron is a great example of a tragic character whose life shaped his character and his actions, and then turned him into the rage fuelled daemon primarch he is in 40k, it’s a shame the level of depth isn’t present in the current lore for 40k
Always nice to hear the trips. Honest and to the point.
I went to Majorca what looks like right after you left, on our first day, Friday last week, it was miserable, but then it went lush for the next week, it was a nice place imo
If Cawl used World Eater material in making the Primaris marines, then could their actual gifts (empathy?) show up in future marines?
It’s hard not feeling bad for Angron and his world eaters even if it’s only a little.
This begs a question that I've never found a satisfactory answer to: Given the horrific casualty rates among the World Eaters, combined with the remaining legion's inability to hold a coherent thought for more than a few minutes, how are there any of them left at this point?? Even with warp fuckery playing a factor, it's not like they have much in the way of a functioning apothecarium to make new marines...
(Yes, I'm aware that they somehow recruit new marines from renegade chapters and the like. I mean ACTUAL heresy-era World Eaters.)
A popular response is that since killing is the easiest thing to do in warp/demon worlds, it is extremely easy for the legion and warbands to find loyal followers and recruits to Korne. Therefore newer recruits would simply color their armor red and continue with the carnage.
Glad to see your back and alright. I appreciate the rough summary lol
I just finished Betrayer.
I was pretty blown away how sympathetic it made angron.
Majorkill will ascend to be loyal saint of the emperor when he passes. He already looks like a golden boy
Nuceria must have been one of the most technological planets in the galaxy if they capture, force him into action, then figured out how to sedate Angron to install the nails. That or Angron was always a midget in a super meat suit.
Bittersweet to imagine nailless Angron and Vulcan being best bros
I was just looking into these more yesterday and here you drop a video on it 😂 you’re the goat !
Angron gets nailed against his will, it fucks with his mind and he's angry the rest of his life....um...They say 40k covers everything...I suppose it does.
I see the nails in my head canon that each "dreadlock" rotating and syncing individually then sending pulses to said location parts of the brain working on there own time tables . Just taps of electricity on temporal parts of the skull.
I think Angron can remain somewhat Loyalist to Big E if He sent down the World Eaters Legion on Nuceria and fight by his side.
Big E had many worlds conquered in the Great Crusade already, so what's one more?
What if Big E upon seeing the Angron's nails wanted to preserve as much knowledge about them as possible in an attempt to save him, thus siding with the riders? Because an open war would definitely do quite a lot of damage.
Imagine, Angron being the healer and mediator of the primarchs. We were robbed of our goodest boy!
Heh I never thought MajorKill would diss catalonians like that. Spot on by the way!
Man love yur channel. Can you make a video of every current chapter master, lord, marshall etc on every legion ? Or kind of the most important marines on most legion chapters ... Thank you!
I just realised you were in my hometown Lagos!! Hope you enjoyed your stay!
Hey Majorkill I live in Prague. Happy you liked it here. Also the beer is good :D
Thrilling video as always @majorkill.
Could you make a video dedicated to the Navigators, the major houses, their politics, relation to the overall Imperium and factions, etc?
You should make a list, of Actors that could play each primarch.
This feels like a live chat
Also, they take nails from fallen WEs and implant them into new recruits to keep it going. That's lore lol in one of the novels a renegade Blood Angel that joins them ends up getting nails.
U should make a update video of the Black Templars and what they’re doing at the moment in 40k
my headcannon is that since the nails were created during the age of strife, when such barbaric warriors might have been useful, and because they used dark desperate height of man warp tech, the nails are more than just tech, they are a connection to khorn. so when they say "the nails sing" it also means "khorn approves".
Barcelona and Canes are two of my favorite party places. Well done
Now imagine implanting these into blood angels mid black rage and red thirst
As a spaniard, I can tell you that we're definitely not patriotic, BUT we don't like people from outside to shit on our country. We shit on our country ourselves.
Catalonians, however, are a special case. They are just angry at everything that doesn't speak their specific version of Gothic.
Agreed on Mallorca being lame, you should have stop by Ibiza if you wanted to party hard.
A lot of places kind of want to sh*t on Spain cause of all the colonialism in the past 😅 Oh but boy do people really hate France still keeping a bunch of colonies! 😬 One of the French colonies even ranks as the second poorest country in the world despite having a bunch of gold, uranium, and diamonds!
the dyed blonde hair got you into Berghain! the Sigvald look for the closest thing to a palace of Slaneesh on earth
As Czech, you got instant points from me for the Prague remark :D
Man, it's so fucked that, even in his death, Angron is still not free of the nails.
Which makes me wonder if Angron's original Primarch Soul still lurks in The Warp after Khorne's influences on Angron's body being established?
And even so, what would Angron's lesser warp god's original form would originally would look like if he's supposed to be psychic empath & healer for the Primarchs?
Would said original Angron soul could be snatched and redeemed in a new compatible Primarch body to not exactly reincarnate but more of rebirthing him?
There are no pain nerves in the brain. So by definition, Butchers Nails would not hurt.
Why do headaches hurt then
I'm glad you enjoyed your trip. You deserved a nice time. :)
My theory:
Big E: Ah so this is the son who was too shit to not only fail to conquer his planet but actually got captured by normal humans.
Angron: AGHGBLBLEBLAH!
Big E: Many they fucked his shit up good, hey Archon get a load of this shit!
Archon: Damn they fucked his shit up, you gonna heal him?
Big E: I mean, we need primarchs but he was appearantly shit enough that he couldn't even beat one planet, at least like this he's like... I don't know half a good primarch instead of just one Angron level primarch.
Majorkill please do a video on the relationships between each marked legion (death guard, thousand sons and so on) and their respective chaos god.
Emperor really expects us to believe Angron wouldn't have regenerated eventually if the nail was removed?
Sounds more like he didn't want to wait for his tool's recovery
Khrone is like a father figure to Angron In his own way, of course. The blood God once gives Angron some peace before world eater Primarch was brought back, but what do you guys think?
Giving him some peace is a very unKnorne thing to do
@@toheekang174 I know right 😳
Gotta say he is a shtty father. And the emperor is MUCH a shtty father. So between the lesser evils, Khorne take the cake. Mostly due he gives angron "BRIEF" peace only to take away said peace.
@@lordoblivion8038 True, but kind of rare for the blood God himself to do that for Angron, don't you think?
@@vontheunknown7982 True but have to consider a chaos god just want to fck with you. This applies to angron sadly... Cruel even
Love a good bit of rage brain nails but when you doing lore on Aun Shi because he's a boss level tau ethereal
I’m a sucker for tragedy and irony so I stan for Angron and the World Eaters.
The irony and tragedy of the Primarch quite possibly designed to be noble and empathetic (and starting out that way) was crippled and turned into a raving mad psycho.
At once aware of himself and yet having practically no way, and past a certain point, no want to change.
They also hold a special preference in a galaxy full of crazy shit that they can match the sheer insanity the galaxy throws at them and get shit done.
I'll never forgive you for making me look at your holiday photos.
*Sanguinius Rips Angrons Nails clean outta his head*
Angron: What have I done? *Dies*
I wonder what perty could have done to help angron as pertys ability would've allowed him to know everything about the butchers nails and how to remove them
I've read the Angron Primarch book, I don't remember his father and his family having the nails.
After Angron was implanted and murdered his father, I'd imagine the rest of his family were implanted as a cash grab for the high riders.
The world eaters before angron were just space marines who were angry but honorable and effective angron ruined his legion
The blood angels are supposed to be the only berzerkers and the Space wolves are just wild
I think there is one issue with Angron and the emperor not knowing how to fix him, and it's Fabius bile.
If Fabius can clone a loyalist pre Heresy version of Fulgrim, then the emperor did have the capacity to replace Angron but clearly that would take too long.
So maybe it was less of a situation where the emperor couldn't truly fix the problem, but couldn't fix it in time.
The fact that Emps couldn’t figure out how to safely remove the nails is pretty funny. I’m imagining Angron on the table and he’s just like “FUCK IT, THIS SHIT TOO COMPLICATED”😭😭
loved the little trip recap lol
Sheer girth is always something to talk about.
All that adrenaline, yet they weren't throbbing. im calling cap bro.
Unstoppable?, Laughs in Dark Angel.
im sorry for your experience in barcelona mate, next time come to the south of spain we tend to be the most welcoming ones
NOOOO lmao! "that is ok because Tren exists" I am DECEASED.
Majorkill you should do a video on the life of a chaos cultists
I have to wonder if Angron still had and has his ablity to take away some pain and it is turned on at all times now, leaving him in constant agony as he feel those that he kills and the pain of his legionaries with their flawed version of the nails.
Berghain? Dude, you got into the IRL equivalent of the Black Library.
I won't ask what happened there. It's better not known.
But Im sure you liked it.
My distracted brain read that initially as "Horrific Device Makes You Australian."
I'm fairly certain the ones who were supposed to be uber violent berserkers were the blood angels
i'd like to think that had everything gone right for Angron then i think his legion would have been so fundamentally different
i reckon had big E helped Angron conquer Nuceria and had Angron kept his empathic healing powers i think his legion would have been more medical based, think of an entire legion where every astartes is an apothecary and they operate more as a support legion for other legions instead of being a front runner legion themselves. i can see them also being like the black Templars in terms of knightly aesthetics i can see them being called "the Red Paladins"
We can at least phatasize about what angron could have been by looking his uncorrupted sons, Kharn even with the nails cared about Argel tal, and theres that one that was recruites by Garro that recognized Garviel was still loyal, just out of it.
I started counting the amount of times you said 'hence' in this video lol
Another sad side note, 40k world eaters dont follow angron cuz dad but the only reason they follow him is that wherever he is ther is carnage and thats all they can still care about
Greetings from Prague! Hope u had a great time!
I hope you enjoyed our German Beer, even if its very expensive at Octoberfest.
Fabius Bile successfully removed someone's Nails (mentioned in his novels). But it left the former Apothecary mentally damaged, barely able to speak for starters
