I've been carrying IIIa backpack armor for about 6 years now. You just get used to carrying it and its comforting when you get your situational awareness activated.
My brother took a 9mm round to the back of his headrest last summer. Thank God for steel bars in '92 Honda headrests... now I have a grey man style SOG backpack with a polyethylene level lllA insert in the laptop compartment, which hangs behind my seat by the handle over the headrest bars in my truck. Also has a pistol compartment on the bottom with a larger secondary gun, holster, and mags. Spent less than $100 on the whole pack and armor. Very lightweight and flexible.
I've thrown around the pros and cons for myself but when you said kids backpack it really inspired me because of the recent school shootings it might add some piece of mind alongside carrying some basic/stop the bleed gear
Hey Sam, I don't know if you're going to answer this comment but I would like to know what was the IFAK you've used to demonstrate in the Vertx EDC Ready Pack 2.0 video?
Good vid. Good armor. Put some in my kids packs 4mo ago…. So saddened by the senseless cowardly act on 5-24-22 Praying for Texas tragedy and the families.
There was a Russian guy that ran into a mall with an AK and a ballistic backpack to stop an active shooter a while back. He never took any rounds, but instead was focused on getting people out so the structure was clear for emergency responders. Either way, still helps the brain knowing I've got something to help stop or slow rounds coming at me.
When I visited Brisbane and the Gold Coast in Australia, it literally felt like a more laid back America. I’ve never once had a run in with a gun problem here in America. For 99.999999% of people, the experience is the same, except y’all drive on the wrong side of the road and talk funny.
Hey Sam, I’ve been watching your videos from the beginning and have enjoyed them! I’m an Urban AEMT and I do IFTs too. I want to get into tactical medicine and rescue style medicine/training. Do you have any tips on how/where to look or start. I live in Utah.
Thanks for pointing out that you are better off spending your money on things like seatbelts, fire alarms, health checkups and healthy food before buying fun items like this. With that said, if you have all those other things covered - then feel free to spend your hard earned dollars on fun tings!
It's nice to see an EDC channel that isnt rambling about political stuff. Cant stand Warrior Poet Society anymore. I just want good EDC tips. Not fearmongering and panic pornography.

I can’t speak to anywhere else, but here in the US, the attraction has absolutely nothing to do with any practical need. The attraction is a lifestyle statement that you’re “the kind of person” who has a need for body armor. It’s grown men pretending to be in a make-believe army that exists only in their own head. They’re also commonly extremely fat, earning the insulting nickname “Gravy Seals.”

Hmmm, idk what that one was. But ik he carry’s the Eagle IFAK in his Vertex Gambut 2.0. If you wanna get that one, it’s really good. Bit pricey tho.

has there ever been a report of a backpack armor actually being used?
Not that I can find
Not that I know of to tell you the truth.
Ja. Curious I seen videos of backpacks.
Maybe the type of person who uses armor like this is also aware enough to not be where people are being shot!

I'm guessing that they have a long life so while they might be a bit pricey, they offer protection for a lot of years.
great video, I'm studying for my NREMT right now, would like to hear your opinion and review on the best boots for Paramedics/EMTs
Percentage is higher in an active shooter if you live along the 188 ancient ley-line.
Sam, next video is shooting test those armor plates.
I have a bad feeling this will get viral now...
Very sad that there is no international shipping

First step is to get your paramedic. After that it’s all about getting on a department with a TEMS component
I like the laptop bag. Could even stuff it in your jacket or under your shirt in some odd situation.
just wear it backwards

I know. Really.
Anyone know what the Tops* food...shooter had?

if people aren't into this stuff they probably won't connect Premier with body armor.

If it doesn't stop 556 it's pointless in a active shooter situation
And yet over 90% of shootings in the US are done with handguns.
