San Francisco 4K - Night Drive

- Опубліковано 16 жов 2024
- Sunday night drive into Downtown San Francisco to my hotel. Video starts coming from Oakland across the Bay Bridges into downtown. This is a beautiful drive seeing the city skyline from the bridges. I'm still working on improving the quality of the night videos. More coming soon!
San Francisco, colloquially known as SF, San Fran, Frisco, or The City, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California. The north end of the San Francisco Peninsula in the San Francisco Bay Area, is the second most densely populated large U.S. city, and the fifth most densely populated U.S. county, behind only four of the five New York City boroughs. San Francisco is the fourth-largest by economic output, with GDP of $549 billion in 2018.
As of 2020, San Francisco has the highest salaries, disposable income, and median home prices in the world at $1.7 million, as well as the highest median rents. In 2018, San Francisco was the seventh-highest-income county in the United States, with a per capita personal income of $130,696. In the same year, San Francisco proper had a GDP of $183.2 billion, and a GDP per capita of $207,371.
A popular tourist destination, San Francisco is known for its cool summers, fog, steep rolling hills, eclectic mix of architecture, and landmarks, including the Golden Gate Bridge, cable cars, the former Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, Fisherman's Wharf, and its Chinatown district. San Francisco is also the headquarters of five major banking institutions and various other companies such as Levi Strauss & Co., Gap Inc., Fitbit, Salesforce.com, Dropbox, Reddit, Square, Inc., Dolby, Airbnb, Weebly, Pacific Gas and Electric Company, Yelp, Pinterest, Twitter, Uber, Lyft, Mozilla, Wikimedia Foundation and Craigslist.

San Francisco without heavy traffic. So amazing!
I know right? SF without traffic is actually enjoyable for once.
Moved to Hercules, CA after I got transferred to a Vallejo office and definitely one of the worst things in the Bay Area is the traffic. The stopped traffic and stop n' go going into SF from 280 and 101 was the absolute worst, especially going in from Foster City. So glad Silicon Valley had people go work at home, lol.
without people too, ghost town. i never want to live in a place like this
Seeing the skyline from the Bay Bridge might just be one of the best views ever.
It’s amazing
Actually really mediocre.
Zhida Zhou it’s far from mediocre. You’re just jealous of it.
I live and work in the city and when I go to the East Bay and drive back and see the skyline of my city my heart just gets very happy
Zhida Zhou Go back to your cave please
I used to live in Bay Area for almost 20 years, this video brought back my memories that I was driving on the same freeway too. Thanks for sharing.
Please tell me what is it at 10• 45

After living in the Bay Area for 20 years, are there a lot of car break in’s that you saw? When I was there in San Jose and Santa Clara and San Francisco, there were A LOT of signs warning people of theft.
Same! I love this city! Thank you 💖💖💖
Whenever I visited a large city, I would enjoy driving around the downtown/central business area late at night when there was little traffic. I miss those days, but you allow me to do so virtually while watching your excellent videos. Thank you, J Utah!
thanks mike! yeah its one of the best ways to see a city. glad i can have a few people come along with me!
@@jutah It must be a gigantic car🙂You are so deserving of your large number of subscribers. You are the best of this genre of videos, and to be honest, I watch no others.
The City always left Me with an eerie and lonely feeling, now more than ever.
Why
PpPAtAatAPtapraAp really? I thought it had amazing weather
Desert Wanderer The Bay does have good weather but in the winter it’s usually foggy in the morning. But for SF it’s always a bit cloudier and grey most days
@@SalafiJustice bay area is big so some part is stoopid hot and some places are a lil bit colder like sf but it tends to clear up like around 11ish
youre thinking about Seattle LOL
As much as I feel sad to see our beloved city nearly emptied nowadays, but I do love the fact that we don't have heavy traffics anymore.
Born and raised in SF. I never truly realized how lucky I was to be raised in one of the most Beautiful cities in the world. I could say I took it for granted. I felt like a moved out way to early. I first moved out for a year at 18, came back at 19, spent three years home again and then moved out again at 22. I moved to San Diego trying to start a new life with the person I was dating at the time. I'm 27 now. 5 years later, I'm still living in San Diego, not with the person I was with originally, but with someone new. I love San Diego, but 5 years away from SF feels like long enough. I've only been able to visit twice, and only for three days each at that, but I really long to move home again. I feel like I'm able to appreciate SF a lot more now and take even more pride for when I was born and raised. This video, not only made me feel like I was home, but brought back so many memories.
I appreciate this comment man
I had a panic attack tonight and your video has helped inmensely in calming me down. thank you very much!!!
Glad it helped and best of health to you in the future!
My mom used to go on drives like this when she would take me to work nearby and we’d get out a bit late.. she could always opt to go straight home but I really liked looking at the lights when I was young so she’d just take a random route around SF so I could see them.. Brought me back and made me tear up a bit, thanks for the video.
This is a sentimental drive for me, thank you for letting me relive it ❤
Your filming of driving through San Francisco are amazing. Love this city and this is so close to the real thing. Thanks for the awesome videos!
Thank you for this video. I came upon it just randomly--I abruptly left San Francisco at the start of the pandemic, in March. I thought it would just be for a couple months, then I'd be back. But, well, we've all seen how the situation has spiraled out of control. Watching this video took my breath away, was a weirdly (or maybe not so weirdly) emotional experience, and renewed in me that ache of homesickness but also a wave of grief. How much things are changing, have changed in just a few months. I miss the city: the familiarity of the streets, the glittering night skyline from the Bay Bridge, and grieve for the way things were six months ago, before any of us had any idea what was to come.
wow I feel you,. Now imagine I left the bay area 4 years ago after being there 30 years,. This video also made me feel alive,.Greetings from Puebla Mexico
I feel the same as you - except, I was supposed to be in San Francisco from March to October, and was just about to fly over, when COVID put a wrench in the works. I've been travelling there for years, for several months at a time, and I feel more homesick for San Francisco, than I do for my own (more beautiful, safe, and clean) city. I hope it has not changed too much by the time I get to go back there.
@@donttalkcrap I think it will definitely be booming after the vaccine is out for a few months because of stir-crazy individuals. Businesses are definitely changing like the blink of an eye right now, but I think it's definitely going to be better in the years to come. Less people right now = more time to think about business sustainability. A lot of startups struggle with this when they're flooded with new clients and requests, and now they don't have an excuse.
Enjoyable like visiting an old friend i haven’t seen in 8 years. I do not recall it ever being that quiet.
Probably quieter now than before because of covid. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
covid keeps everybody inside
Wow that awesome
I'm a Brit, who never learnt to drive, but loves going on drives, and who is obsessed with America ... so for me, this is pure bliss. Thank you for this taste of Heaven. X
Glad you like them!
@@jutah Absolutely. I'm going to do one night's worth of viewing soon. Looking forward to it ... but if you wouldn't mind stopping in a service station, in case I need the loo, and to grab a Ginsters. Thanks. :-) x
if you ever come; skip San Fran, see Oregon.
Yep that's my city.
It feels like they've been doing construction on Van Ness Avenue forever. They're putting in these new fancy street lights with new street signs. Van Ness Ave. is a straight shot from downtown to the water near Golden Gate Bridge. Cable Car's aren't running right now, so drive on those tracks all you want. That's California Street, nice. 16:13 That's the Bay Bridge all lit up. 17:58 You just went through Chinatown. Ohhh nice you drive through Chinatown too. They shutdown at like 5p everyday. 24:42 My parents got married at the church on the right corner.. Old Saint Mary's Church.
A drive through the Sunset District would be boring but a day drive through golden gate park would be nice.
27:45 lol you passed my place. Nice. Great ride. Thanks.
Danae Lum van ness has been going on forever I used to walk down it everyday cuz I lived on Turk st
Van Ness was in a mess at least 3-4 years ago. Other cities have built entire freeway systems and railway networks in the same time.
Which reminds me, the tunnel for the new train line running from Chinatown to Caltrain at 4th & Townsend (less than 2 miles long) has been under construction since I visited in 2012. My guess is that it's still years away from opening.
@@donttalkcrap Truth.. no doubt. Yah that is also just going on forever long.
@@donttalkcrap Van Ness was a mess back when I went to highschool at Ellis st. Now I graduated from college. Safe to say it has been like this for at least 6 years.

Used to live in the city and walked many o' nights thru the same streets, loved it, hope to move back again ....4 am, and all is quiet. Love to see the city come awake , thank you for this video.
The city of my life. I just love San Francisco - the city where I meet God. Greetings from São Paulo, Brazil!
retreated from san francisco back to my family home in minnesota because of the pandemic. loved to go on long bike rides there just soaking up the lights and sounds - have been here for 6 months now and am desperately missing it.
thanks for giving me at least a taste of what I'm missing right now but will eventually see again.
I’m a native San Franciscan. Born and raised. Left for school. Came back. Left for work and more school. Came back. Left two years ago and not likely to come back since we’ve settled in Chicago. But this video made me so homesick for what I know and what I love. It’s definitely weird seeing it so empty but in a stranger way it’s reassuring knowing it’s still there. Thank you so much for shooting and sharing this video.

I miss working there, looking at this video brought a lot of memories. Thank you for posting this. This video showed me I need to go back on personal time.
Wow traffic is so light. I miss being in the city. When my husband and I were dating, he lived in San Francisco and I loved being there at night. Thank you for sharing.
Such an awesome video. I went to San Francisco and Northern California in 2017 to visit some family in the summer. Very nice place.
I really love your video, it is so beautiful to see this cities during a trip on car! Thanks man
The Bay Bridge is beautiful!
The new bridge is beautiful

The city I'd fall in love over again and again. Visited many times before. Love from Penang, Malaysia.
Haven't been to San Francisco in years, not since I moved to Washington. I miss California as that was my home my whole life leading up to 2017. Can't wait to visit this beautiful city again
there's nobody on the streets, emty streets becouse of covid-19, Downtown-Ghosttown, very impressive City by the way, thanks for the ride.
50000 people used to live there
The Golden Gate Bridge.....it's amazing. I really appreciate the architecture.
MaximumEfficiency I used to live there 2008-2018. The people there is what’s ruined the city and their politics
Hmmmmm, you were there during the exact time that the city began sucking... you sure you didn't have something to do with it?!?!?!? What line of work were you in during your residency?
The streets are empty because it's the middle of the night and it's cold outside. Most folks are home in their warm beds.
I like that the streets seem like stairs in SA. This city is enchantering and the houses have their unique architectures.
I go to SF every year to see my aunt and I can’t see her this year because of this pandemic, This video is lovely ❤️
This makes me regret moving to Colorado. Thanks for all the reminders.
It's crazy. You traced my walking route from my dorm to the Academy building, and it's really cool to see it from the perspective of a visitor's car at night, where it's just so... serene? Haunting, with all the boarding up and quarantine, too.
God, this is the most beautiful city in the world imo, I’m about a year away from living here and couldn’t be more happy/excited.
Such a calming video. Thank you!
Brings back my old memories since I'm in quarantine
Congratulations for the video. Beautiful night in San Francisco. I want to visit this beautiful city one day. The video inserted me into this beautiful night. I’m from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Glad you enjoyed it!
My mind drifts back to my apartment. Small, secure in its solitude. By day, the bustling city life was a constant joy. The sounds of productivity and people gave one a sense of belonging. But night. My bed would remain tucked up against the window, from there I had a view if the giant skyscrapers as they touched they sky, the few lights on a reminder that these oblong monuments were teeming with life, hopes and dreams. In a city so large, anonymity, was normal, but just knowing vastness of it made one feel not alone. Stories down, neon lights were a reminder of activity that continued past the sunset. Humanity, having rebelled in all its ways had found a way to keep the sun up a little longer. Cars, passing through the night like thoughts in the clouds. San Francisco is a city with its own tune and rhythms. It takes time to get used to, but quickly becomes relatable. Its easy to feel alone, but in a city of such moxie, you feel alone together. What I wouldn't give to share that memory with myself again.
WOW its AMAZING at night, I like it and seeing the skyline at night is one of best things I have seen in California. Thank you for the ride J Utah
Very beautifull city nice roads Thankyou sir.
I live in Greece and been to San Francisco for a week in 1989. I loved the city and I have a ton of pictures of it back then.
Great video. You should do another during the Holidays to show off all the lights.
I used to live in the Bay Area and had driven this route countless times. I loved driving on the new Bay Bridge and always marveled at its beauty. I never was able to capture such smooth footage of the drive. Thank you for sharing this. Brings back great memories.
The American city proposal is really great, showing the beauty of industry and a model of modern industrial civilization.
It's not practical though, it's not designed for people.
JuegaDas if it wasn’t then who the fuck designed it?
always surprising with fantastic tours. congratulations😄
What a lovely bridge ♥ great USA. Thanks for uploading
This was the perfect time for car companies to get out there to shoot raw footage for their new and upcoming car models.
I always like to take the bart to the city and just walk around by myself. There is ALWAYS something to see, I adore that place.

so gorgeous and especially fascinating at night time.
really a symbol of and for America and its spirit, thank you for posting these videos for all of us not so fortunate to see experience and admire these American cities in person.

San Francisco IS a beautiful place. I fell in love with it last year, in August, when I first visited. Went back last February, amazing weather ! Three day pass, so I could run in those cable cars as much as I wanted!;-) last day, walked down from Lombard St , had my Ghirardellis ice cream seated in the steps of that small beach from where one can see the gorgeous Golden Gate to the left, and the historic ships to the right. As we were taking off, I was feeling nostalgic and missing it already. I could live there...💛💛💛
Manecas Cris visiting San Francisco is a much different experience than living in San Francisco. Our city is falling apart. Covid is destroying the city businesses one by one. Cost of living is still in the stratosphere and homelessness is an insoluble problem.
Byron Gordon the city will find itself again and repair itself in the years to come.
No puedo viajar y viendo estos videos es como si pudiera estar en estos lugares me hacen sentir como que yo estoy ai visitando el lugar! Gracias por compartirlos!
What a great start!
The lighting on the Oakland-SF bridge is amazing! It really feels like you in a actual movie especially like a film noir quality to it. When the COVID-19 ends, I want to visit SF next year!
San Francisco, sure miss going there. Used to go a lot as kid visiting my grandparents, visiting fishermen’s warf, Japan town, port of San Francisco, even visiting few family friends that still live there and visiting a lot well known land marks. Since I was born and raised in Sacramento, I live like 2 hours away from the bay area.
How wonderful this is!
I want to go to San Francisco at least once.
I will like to go to San Francisco ,i heard there is a Big chinatown there .
Don't come .I live have been living here for twenty years. The city is getting worse and worse. Dirty. Dangerous. Home less people all around.
dee 5354 is it bad even for tourists?
River Rivera yeah I agree with the other dude. I lived there 2008-2018 and that place has only gone downhill. It’s basically dangerous for anyone including tourists. Just like most of these leftist cities they’re not letting police do their jobs. They’re housing in 5 star hotels the homeless and supplying them with alcohol and drugs to “help them get by”. Just look it up. Beautiful city and weather but the people, not so much
E I , I also heard about the homelessness crisis in CA generally, and how expensive the housing is in San Francisco. It’s probably because of the tech companies located there. It is so sad to see a city like San Francisco to go downhill like this. But didn’t know that it got dangerous even for tourists
Quite the beautiful city when there's no people around.

I moved to SF from Singapore for work. But when Covid hit, I had no choice but to pack up and leave for home.
