- Wednesday night drive through Hollywood in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is still pretty quiet without all the tourism. Video starts on the Sunset Strip (Sunset Blvd), continues to Hollywood Blvd, and ends in Downtown Los Angeles. I never thought I would see Los Angeles like this. Pretty unique for sure!
Hollywood is a neighborhood in the central region of Los Angeles, California. Given Hollywood's status as a center of movie production, the name functions as a shorthand for the film industry in many cultures and languages. The result has been a proliferation of portmanteaus in other countries for similar places which are tied to film. Likely the best known example is Bollywood which is the Indian film industry which is based in Mumbai and formerly referred to as Bombay. Lollywood is the Pakistani film industry based in both Karachi and Lahore. A few other examples are Görliwood for the Görlitz/Zgorzelec metropolitan area along the Lusatian Neisse River, HollyŁódź in Łódź, Poland, Tollywood from Tollygunge or Telugu-language film, Mollywood from Malayalam film industry based in Kerala and Hollywood.
Its name has come to be a shorthand reference for the U.S. film industry and the people associated with it. Many of its studios such as Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, and Universal Pictures were founded there and Paramount Pictures still has its studios there.
Hollywood was incorporated as a municipality in 1903. It was consolidated with the city of Los Angeles in 1910, and soon thereafter a prominent film industry emerged, eventually becoming the most recognizable in the world.

I know that people make a lot of jokes about it, but i think it's scary how accurate Rockstar created Los Santos in GTA V.
Not really it’s just a 3D scan and they build. Watch dogs 2 looks exactly like the Bay Area lmao.
Not at all, the roads are way too wide, the streets are too curvy, some of the downtown streets are way steeper than san francisco, the roads look and props look very dirty compared to real life la. In summary it just doesn't look like LA at all, imo they did a very bad job.

Edit: I finally found this comment after so long. I haven’t yet moved to California but… I visited California for 6 days last year. I went to LA, Venice, Beverly Hills, and Inglewood

@@coquina8819 That's not true. I'm born and raised in LA. I can tell you that the city was pretty good about 25 years ago, but now it's bumper to bumper on the 405 every time you go out. It's so overcrowded and polluted that I wouldn't even recommend LA to rich people at this point. You are welcome to come and try it lol

Don't be so narrow minded I'm sure there's better places for you or even many people but cities like LA are in the top tier of quality of life, traffic and pollution considered.

I live in LA and I just recently played GTA V. The accuracy is crazy, even a lot of lesser-known buildings are real. The major difference is that its just impossible to capture the scale of LA in a video game. Some landmarks that are 2 blocks apart in Los Santos are like a 45 min drive apart in traffic in LA.
@@jaftem2x I think it should be possible, if we have to sacrifice the many features of GTA that take up a lot of resources such as building interiors, activities, weapons, advanced AI... basically if you wanted a game where the only thing you can do is drive or walk around Los Angeles, I think recreating the exact same LA would be possible. The Truck SImulator games have enormous maps which is possible because there isn't a lot of detail and activities in the world unlike GTA
You have to watch this in the dark, with a fan on you. Feels like you're riding on the roof and catching a nice breeze.
