Nice of you to upload these episodes of The Ruth Rendell Mysteries; unfortunately, the earlier episodes dating from around 1987-1992, despite already being released on VHS (which is hard to find these days), have yet to have been released on DVD due to an ongoing dispute over the ownership and licensing rights. The same problem has occured with most other programmes produced or commisioned by Television South (TVS) because although the original master recordings are very much intact, most of the paperwork and documents in relation to the TVS programme archive have been going missing, with TVS having gone through several takeovers since their licence to broadcast to the ITV network had expired at the end of 1992 and was not renewed, which means that the distribution rights cannot be determined. They might consider releasing these on DVD in the future once they've found the missing paperwork and all the other documents relating to the TVS archive, but that will probably have to wait for a very long time. BTW, how many more of these episodes of The Ruth Rendell Mysteries do you have in your collection?
Thank you Guy, it is a shame that this wonderful series hasn't been released onto DVD yet. I did buy a DVD boxset some years ago then disappointingly found out that it was only the last few that they made. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the ITV can sort something out regarding rights and release them officially. I have a few more Wexfords and some more recorded off ITV 3. When I have time I will upload more.
@Paul Goddard Television South (TVS) is no longer a part of the ITV network, actually. They ceased broadcasting when their licence expired at the end of 1992 and was not renewed.
