Terrific vid. Having hiked the North Cascades years ago I was smitten with your footage on the trail. I always wanted to return when I could. Now that I live in Utah I have put the trip back on my bucket list. Thanks for the beautiful and real experience. Bugs and all!
I think the behind the scenes narrative is great. Thanks for showing Wa. The state has so much to offer, from Sea to Mountain and desert. Although we’ve had a bunch of rain this winter and spring. Thanks Chris.
The lock down has not hampered your creative juices, excellent episode. The tailgate table review was well done and informative. EZOverland has created a nice clean website. I agree, the magnetic closure is what separates them from the rest. I'm from MI and have gotten my Jeep stuck up north too, wo recovery gear. I enjoyed that UP episode and could relate. Keep up the great work.
A tip for recovering boards. Set up clips on them and have, either thin ss cables or lines, and attach them to the car (I usually connect the front to the rear ones if I use all four) so, the cables on the front swing around the outside of the car and are connected to the bumper. This way. When you make your way put of the muddy mess, you drag the boards away with you to a cleaner, drier surface, where they are retrieved with more comfort, instead of buried in the mud back where you were stuck. Simple, small carabiners and thin ss cables work best for me because they are the easiest to clean, and can be contained in a small box or bag.
Yep..thanks..tailgate table I will check into..some people are safely opening back up ..so haircut probable..my jeep too is dormant in the garage..hopefully daylight is coming..enjoy watching n listening..wish the best
Chris, I truly enjoy watching your videos. I recently found your channel during Christmas break 2019 and lately with pandemic I’ve been able to binge-watch. Your channel is clean and love the fact that you love nature, very inspirational, I personally have been to few places on your episodes. Love the idea of reminiscing on your latest episodes. Best overland videos!
You know Chris I watch a lot of videos and subscribed to many and whilst I make many comments I have never told anyone that I love their videos .. You are the exception .. from start to finish your videos are exceptional .. Fun to watch with an honest dialogue. You set yourself apart from the rest .. not quite sure how you do that but you do. Now get busy with the clippers .. Trust me they'll be no looking back. Stay safe brother ..
Love this week's video, Chris! The mix of "director's commentary" and gear overviews is perfect. Thanks for entertaining us until we can get back out on the trails.
Thanks as always for the great videos Chris. Wifey and I always look forward to seeing current or past adventures and your gear reviews. We are in NW Phoenix and will be using Summit Off Road because of you once we get our Rubicon. A long time ago I was a young boy scout and my Pop and our Troop did 52 miles on a portion of the John Muir trail in the Sierra Nevada Mountains....This hike you are on reminds me of that trip. Thanks again brother! 👍👊🙏
I love this area at Diablo Lake and east side of Baker Lake up in the mountains where you were. I have spent the night there myself. Have hiked around Mount Baker for 30 years.
I for one am absolutely loving the reminiscent videos. And I am sure that you are looking forward to getting back out there. Of the many channels that I follow, yours has always ranked in the top two. And the care and quality that you consistently and persistently put into your work is very evident. I have mentioned this in comments of previous videos. My six year old granddaughter is a huge fan as well. And if she digs it, you're golden! Stay safe and keep up the great work.
I bought that table, because you introduced it to us and I could see the two biggest selling points: no rattle design and one handed opening. I love this table and feel a little sorry for folks using the double pin style.
Chris.really enjoy your showers ! Been watching your U tubes for several years , look forward every week to see what is happening . Have really liked what your doing now with lock down . Keep up the good work .
Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos and the beautiful places that you’ve been. That lake was awesome. I would love to do some kayak camping there... thanks again Chris and stay safe out there.
Another great experience you bring to us each week Chris. You never disappoint. Thank you for the scenery, the commentary and the ideas of places to go. I think I’ll grab my boy, jump in the Duramax and head up the backside of Mt Lemmon for the day. After watching this I need some outdoors.
(Darn)... for a fraction of the regular fare. Patagonia is very tourist friendly, especially foreigners on their own cars, and locals do more than sufficient English for communitpcation. Now we have time in our hands may be a good opportunity to plan out a trip down to that gorgeous cone. Ruta 40 is amazing, and so is Ruta 3, but the Carretera Austral is priceless. Lots to explore. Then there is Peru and the Inca Trail BYOO (bring your own oxygen.. ; ⁰ ) Great Channel ypu got! Helps me fet out there. Thanks for doing it.
Regarding the GP-Factor Maxtrack locks ... Chris at $250 for the pair I simply cannot justify that purchase to protect $600 worth of Maxtracks. Every retailer has their own pricing justifications which typically cannot be criticized. However every purchase we make does get personal scrutiny and rationalization. For now the GP-Factor product is bookmarked but I’m sticking with my arrangement of 3/8” SS bolts and nuts for mounting and a lockable knurled 3/8” nut for security. Not as elegant but affordable with the same net result. Stay safe and keep up the posts. You remain a positive encouragement for all overlanders. BTW I particularly appreciate and enjoy your “Schooner Tuna” attitude and solution to maintaining a great relationship with Patreons!!
Lots of fun! Brought back memories of the north cascades from my coming of age college years in the mid 90's. Still live relatively close. Makes me think I should make the effort a trudge through the Seattle traffic to get up there again with my young children.
Thanks for showing more footage of the Pacific Northwest. There is some really cool and diverse landscape here and it's always fun to see it through another's eyes.
Thanks for the tip on where to get the EZ tailgate table. Been looking for one but didn’t want to pay the premium price for the one mentioned on other channels. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Maxxtrax....hah, that was a good tutorial that I think a lot of people that own them and have never used them should appreciate. After one finally gets past the sticker shock and purchases a set of 2, let alone 4, then tries to find a decent enough place to keep/store and secure the static structures, maybe you'll get to use them. Honestly, I use them for leveling the vehicle more than anything. However I have used them to recover and consider them (along with time) the most important piece of recovery gear I carry....you'll eventually get out of any mess using these. I use my winch a fair amount as well, but the winch has a lot of limitations even if you're configured to use it on either front or rear....my initial recovery attempts usually start with recovery boards, and Maxxtrax are the most durable and best design I've witnessed. Thanks for the vlogs!
do what you can to save your footage. i started traveling in 2012 first by bicycle touring, then by train, by jeep now in my van. i lost most of my footage when my computer crashed. lesson learned from that. i think from watching your videos i may start filming my travels again. this time hard drives will be the norm!
We used to sail out to Shackleford Banks in College with a keg and some... well... yeah. Oh boy a lot of shenanigans went on in the tents during that trip. Beautiful area that I totally took for granted back in the day.
Great video Chris. I absolutely LOVE that tailgate table. I had actually purchased a cheap knockoff of one on the Internet last year. It arrived from UPS about the time I saw the episode where you had your table installed. I quickly decided to send the cheap table back, and I’m going to get the same one you’ve got. I haven’t pulled the trigger on it yet, (being retired , funds are slow coming in) but it’s time to do so. I’ve also been looking at the Terafex tire carrier. It’s great quality, and most of all, offers the ability to mount accessories on it. I’ve been without a spare since January when I put 35” K02’s on the Jeep. My new Overlander (the Jeep) is slowly coming together. I had to retire my old one (Tacoma) last year. I’m hopeful that this SIP will have done its job soon, and we can all get back to our adventures. Until then, sipping on my coffee, watching your videos, is REALLY helping. Thank you for that! 🙏🏼 ✌🏼OIIIIIIIO
hi Chris - I like your detailed equipment reviews - I am neither a Jeep owner or an overlander but it sure looks interesting, (i do own a truck camper combo) . As far as cutting your own hair - go for it - I have been doing so for two years now so my clippers are long ago paid for. Just remember the difference between a good haircut & a bad haircut is two weeks !!
Great video Chris..... still stuck in lockdown in the UK. Heather says hi and hope you’re planning more greens in your meals so when you get back out you’ll have a better diet. By the way... in the mean time Heather has bought an Orange 2 litre Renegade that we have call “Chris”. Take care and stay safe....
Another tip for getting out of snow is to carry a bag of Turkey Grit with you. You can get this at a feed store or farm supply store. The Turkey grit is sharp and will bite into your tires.
Thank you for the relaxing video Chris. It looks like you got your money out of those tires, probably time for new ones (I know buying new tires hurts). I use and carry an ARB tire repair kit. Something recommended for off road travel. Got a screw in my General Grabber ATX a few weeks ago. Took me 30-40 minutes to repair it. Be safe.

Hey, really enjoyed your videos and behind the seen footage like you running to retrieve your camera to bad we can create something that would allow you to get those shots with far less time . 1630 at your kitchen table I noticed your beautiful knife on your table . would love to see an EDC vid of your stuff from time to time you really have some unique gadgets and stuff . I wish I could take a few month off and travel in my own vehicle with you while your on one of your adventures I could learn so much from your experiances..any way keep up the great work stay safe.
Double wow on the scenery, Chris! I just finished packing my 5.11 reconnaissance backpack hoping that in a week or so the lockdown will cease here in Virginia. Stay safe and I'm looking forward to more of your adventures.
Don't worry barbershops will be the first to open for business. May will be the month to get out more a start businesses back up. Good luck on you adventures.
I'm really digging these lockdown videos. Just wish you would post more. Great meeting you at the Joshua Tree Cottonwood VC in March.--Steve, the sandwich hands guy.
I was there back in high school (80's). That was my first exposure to a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Forgot all about it until you showed that light house.Cool beans.
Can't get to Harts pass or Diablo as they just started to clear the snow from Mazama to Newhalem so maybe Mid May and yes this is a seasonal thing from Dec sometimes Nov .
Amazing work Chris I’m so glad Lynne suggested I see your channel. You do beautiful work love your shots if you have a page with your photography I’d love to see it
This was a really nice video. Loved the commentary. I'm sure it would be a pain todo every week, but it was a nice touch. Good luck if you decide on the clippers.
I enjoyed this video.we are all reflecting of past trips and sorting out future ones now.dont worry about your hair either.i haven't had a cut since Nov. And now Illinois is closed till end of may.
Chris, your under quarantine and have plenty of hats. Now is the time to experiment with a power hair trimmer. It has multiple length attachments and you have a bathroom with mirror. Safe travels Perry
Hello Chris, hope everything is fine with you, and not to bored. In this early video you showed your Jeep with a roof top tent, instead the Ursa Minor, I would like for you to make a comparation between the two, and why you chose the Ursa Minor?
Don't know when and where I saw that line the first time, but my version is "Everything is a good thing, if it's not good, it's not the end yet". Have being subscribed to your channel for 2 years, love your videos!
How come I am third!!! I'm in a rather warm UK and we always get this a day later than the USA. Luv ya Chris! Brilliant filming and blog! Thank you so much!
Good to see you again Chris good footage really enjoy that beautiful water yeah we’re stuck in his house can’t wait to everything get back to some kind a normal be safe and God bless you and by the way have you heard from Jenny
Chris. If you are ever up exploring the Rocky Mountains in Montana and end up in Lincoln. I can point you in a few directions of secluded places to camp and great views. Plus I’d love to meet you and contribute to some of your experiences.
Hey Chris, If your ever back in Washington State hope to meet up. I live just about an hour away from Twisp WA and love this area and all it has to offer. Also there is a lot more to explore out there and keep doing what your doing love the videos.
As you go through old footage, how about a few top ten lists? Campgrounds, Nat forests, gear- must haves and can do withouts, 'wish I knew when I started' etc.
Absolutely fantastic footage. I'm talking Nat Geo stuff right there. You do a lot of back tracking for those shots but man what an experience. Thank you.
Don't hesitate to post more "old videos" - this one was GREAT. Thanks.
What Philip said!
Love to see this old footage. Beautiful. Great Job. Thanks.
Terrific vid. Having hiked the North Cascades years ago I was smitten with your footage on the trail. I always wanted to return when I could. Now that I live in Utah I have put the trip back on my bucket list. Thanks for the beautiful and real experience. Bugs and all!
Quarantine sucks, keep the old stuff coming, this is a great format. We will all be out on the road again soon. Be safe
I am greatly enjoying your content during these times we cannot go out and explore. You are my favorite to watch. Thank you!!!.
Chris another good episode and yes the North Cascades are beautiful. Take care and be safe out there.
I think the behind the scenes narrative is great. Thanks for showing Wa. The state has so much to offer, from Sea to Mountain and desert. Although we’ve had a bunch of rain this winter and spring. Thanks Chris.
Awsome behind the scenes footage Chris...you're getting great shots and great cardio...lol. I love it!

Best tip for sure, saw before they put a string on to find the boards after, but full marks to you!
Another vote for going bold with the clippers. I haven’t been to a barber in 15 years. Keep the great content coming!
Yep..thanks..tailgate table I will check into..some people are safely opening back up ..so haircut probable..my jeep too is dormant in the garage..hopefully daylight is coming..enjoy watching n listening..wish the best

Ah Chris this was refreshing, the PNW seems to be stunning and I cannot wait to be able to visit.stay safe bud!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful videos and the beautiful places that you’ve been. That lake was awesome. I would love to do some kayak camping there... thanks again Chris and stay safe out there.
Love the bottlebrush trees. In south Florida they are a favorite of the Quaker parrots.
Thanks for the great Saturday morning, drinking my coffee, it's too cold to go outside, outdoor video.

Thank you Chris for taking the time...
Great video. 👍
Really like these ‘travels from the past’. THANKS!!
Nice footage Chris..
Thanks.. Randy Astoria Oregon
Great video Chris always look forward to watching you I’m currently watching all the old videos from the beginning have a good one!
Loved the table review. I also like the idea of supporting cottage industries when they have good products.

Those yoopers up in the U.P. are extremely friendly and will help you out in an instant. Loved hearing that yooper accent!
Great footage! Thank you for sharing. Stay safe & God Bless!
Get the clippers out and go for it!! Thanks for another great video. Love following along :)
Chris that was great ! Loved it ! What a fantastic video. Thanks for all your time and effort.
I'm loving this series of videos! Glad you improvised well during the shutdown.
Right in my back yard. Such an incredible place.
Great footage Chris.
Glad all is well with you. Look forward to next weeks video.
Till then, have a good week. :)
I remember watching this video when it came out can’t believe it’s been that long
WOWOWOWOWOW Great stuff; I miss Washington. I lived there for 21 years!
Beautiful scenery Chris good on ya. 👍
Thanks for the tip on where to get the EZ tailgate table. Been looking for one but didn’t want to pay the premium price for the one mentioned on other channels. Keep doing what you’re doing.
I love this type of more behind the scenes type content. Keep it coming!
Love the B roll footage. Keep it up best overland channel on u tube.
Some more please! Real down to earth reflections, appreciate that you share all these trips(and tips) you did and the get away in to nature.
do what you can to save your footage. i started traveling in 2012 first by bicycle touring, then by train, by jeep now in my van. i lost most of my footage when my computer crashed. lesson learned from that. i think from watching your videos i may start filming my travels again. this time hard drives will be the norm!

Good Stuff.. Pacific NW is beautiful... Thanks Chris...

Great stuff Chris 😁 it's nice to see old footage clip when time we're good and we we're young. Lol
Be safe.
Such enjoyable content for a newbie 4wd like me. Thanks Chris.

Nice highlight on the MaxTrax. I’ve been thinking about getting a set.
Thanks for another great video. Don’t know if I can wait a whole week for another fix. Love you man, stay well and safe.👍 Bob

Good stuff Chris! It’s a good reminder some of the epic places you have visited! Don’t mind these types of videos at all!
I was there back in high school (80's). That was my first exposure to a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Forgot all about it until you showed that light house.Cool beans.

You should do outtakes at the end of each episode.
Carto Scro I agree 100%. Chris is a funny guy, funnier than he thinks, I’d bet.
Nah. What he has been doing the past couple years is perfect. Save them for days that he can’t film
I love the outtakes
Amazing work Chris I’m so glad Lynne suggested I see your channel. You do beautiful work love your shots if you have a page with your photography I’d love to see it
Thank you Chris😎👍
Love the mountain’s born and raised in Illinois some small hills in my area. I was in Wyoming a few years back I was memorized by the mountain’s.

Your North Cascades footage is some of my favorite. (My wife & I were there at the same time.)
I travel with my wife as well. 🤣
This was a really nice video. Loved the commentary. I'm sure it would be a pain todo every week, but it was a nice touch. Good luck if you decide on the clippers.
Washington ,,,my home ,,, I spent a week on the pct in that area. you need to come back to Washington and spend some time exploring more of it.

Thank you.
