Yeah, it kind of blew me away when I realized how to play it. It also blew my mind that Ed completely dismissed the game after only playing it for 3 minutes and also refusing to read any of the text that displayed on screen describing how to play the game.
Excellent rundown of the cart! I think your method works well as a visual representation of your opinion. Besides, I’d take Gaelco and Renovation over the Castlevania and Contra collections. Finding new favourites in the deep end is more exciting!
Great video Crow! I was interested in how much the noticeable delay between levels loading on Donut Dodo bothered you, but I guess it didn't. I play this on Nintendo Switch and have been put off picking this collection up based on how much this infuriates Ed and I know it would infuriate me too :-) Hopefully Blaze get round to fixing this but I guess they've got enough on their plate at the moment with their VS-R and recent cart delays. Keep up the awesome work!
I was trying to keep my thoughts on the games kind of brief and I decided not to bring it up because it only affects the Evercade VS and the issue could get resolved one day. As annoying that weird delay is, it also wouldn't have affected the score I gave the game. The pause was annoying, but it wasn't annoying enough for me to dig out my Founders Edition Evercade VS which still has it as the Game of the Month where the issue doesn't exist, lol.
I just went nuts with Bone Marrow after playing it for about 5 mins and figuring out how it's played. Initially I thought about ranking it even higher, but the major game flaw made me drop it to where I currently listed it.
@@KeenRetroGames yeah the early levels are a bit too long winded. But there's a decent game in there. Hopefully Bonemarrow rebirth improves on the flaws.
Yes Chew, Chew Mimic was definately my favorite game of the month! Tough sell for me since I have 2 games in Indy 1 and got my fill of the other game of the months. The other standouts Donut Dodo and Bone Marrow can be gotten for under $5 on other platforms and have some advantages to boot. Great for a starting collector. Big2small and Chew, chew just not enough for me.
Here are mine: Donut Dodo - 10 on Super Pocket and Ancient Hero, 7.5 on EXP and VS Thunder Paw - 5.5? Alien Cat 2: Enhanced Edition - 9.5 Bone Marrow - 7 Big2Small - 10 Magic and Legend: Time Knights - 3 Doodle World Redrawn - 4.5 The Little Tales of Alexandria - 5 Bubble Seahorse Adventures - 7 Orebody: Binder’s Tale - 6.5? Skate Cat - 7 Chibi Monster Br4wl - 3 Chew Chew Mimic - 8
Little Tales was kind of a visual novel without a story, but the atmosphere and imagination was enjoyable. I played through it twice. The auto interaction drove me nuts too. Bone Marrow gets good but starts sooooo sloooooow. The original game 2048 was based on is Threes! and that is still the best of its kind. I have played a ton of Chu Chu Rocket in my life but Chew Chew Mimic just isn't as joyful or fun as that. I would like it more if I was not so experienced. I just didn't like Thunder Paw that much, and the game felt like it was unfinished. As a lot of these do, I guess. Otherwise I am pretty much on the same page as you.
This is an amazing cart. I came here after I heard about your video on the Evercade Effect Saturday Morning cast. I completely missed this vid.
Heh... UA-cam must not have thought the video was worth anybody's time.
@@CrowContinuum it certainly didn't push it!
Good reviews, Crow. I really like Bone Marrow. Fun Game. Thanks for the video.

@@CrowContinuum Thanks :-)
Nice ratings Crow!😊
I largely agree with your rankings, but maybe bone marrow would be a little lower.

@@CrowContinuumif you could just skip to level 5 it would score a lot higher with me.

Big2Small might be the best puzzle game on Evercade.

Best cart out of 2024 so far
I can't argue with you because it's the only cart from 2024 I've played through so far.
I still can't get over Team 17 being at the bottom of the list
I didn't grow up with an Amiga and I never knew anyone that actually had one. None of the games in that collection really resonated with me that well.
It would be at the bottom for me if not for Qwak and Arcade Pool.
Looks like value for money and i fully support developers that do games like this instead of trying to pump out a fortnight clone with estores.
