Agemonia, an enchanted world brimming with magic, is experiencing its greatest upheaval. Earth tremors, tidal surges, electrical storms - the cataclysmic events are increasing and driving the mortal races to the brink of war. What could this have to do with the resurgence of mysterious, ancient devices? And what of the approaching darkness that reaches from beyond the shadowy gates of the Breach...?
Agemonia is a fully co-operative board game with challenging, moral choices, set in an expansive storyline for 1-4 players. Live your destiny, and become the mightiest of unlikely heroes - or even the most despicable of villains - in this unforgettable adventure!
Gameplay
As your Heroes explore the Scenario map, story points are triggered, revealing more information about your surroundings. They may provide useful equipment or treasure, spawn new enemies onto the map, or give your Hero an opportunity to test one of their abilities: Might, Agility or Will, by rolling dice, and spending Stamina. You spend Stamina in the form of Stamina chips, but these are also spent and flipped to their wound side when your hero takes damage, reducing the amount of Stamina available for you to use. Each turn your Hero will perform an action (such as attacking, healing, or focusing your abilities) and a maneuver (such as moving, meditating to regain precious Stamina, or recovering to heal your wounds) in either order. Choose wisely, as your choice of action will also affect your turn order for the round, and coordinating your actions with your fellow Heroes is key.
Combat
Each Hero has one or more actions that allow them to perform an attack by rolling dice and spending stamina. Attacks may be melee, ranged or magic. Melee and ranged attacks require a weapon to perform, and a good quality weapon will enhance an attack. Each Hero has a selection of different attacks to choose from that can be changed on their Hero board between scenarios.
Each enemy attack is of a fixed value and is linked to one of the 3 Hero abilities: Might, Agility or Will. The attacked Hero will have to test the corresponding ability to attempt to resist the attack. Damage is taken by flipping over your Hero's valuable stamina chips to their wound side. Too much damage and your Hero may become wounded, gaining an injury. Some enemy attacks may inflict a negative condition on your Hero such as Bleeding or Entangled which they will have to overcome to continue their heroic deeds."

So glad you are covering this!
And that you enjoy it.
I've been loving the decisions so far!
Looks awesome, great video! Can’t wait for the next video and for my copy of Agemonia to arrive!
Great Playthrough! Thank you very much Alex and Meg! ❤️
Thank you for watching!
Awesome playthrough! Thanks Alex and Meg!
Thank you!!
This game looks amazing I can't wait to start. The origin stories of each character are great as well
Pretty interesting! Actually, this could be my kind of game.
My all In was delivered today. I can't wait to get started.
Enjoy it!
Looks colorful and not too hard to table which is nice. mostly concerned about story quality however and choices. It says you can be a hero or villain...that seems like a lot to balance in the story.
I'm not sure if this helps, but I think if you change the focus mode on the overhead camera to "C" or continuous, it will focus on the cards you hold up.
I'm a Nikon shooter, so it could be called something else if you are using Canon or Sony.
I'm thinking about backing the reprint on Kickstarter. How do you think this game will be with 3 or 4 players?
I think you forgot turn one fate card around at 29:00 at the end of round
Ooh... If there true then great catch!
Considering the price, do you think it can hold up to Gloomhaven? Time to play, immersion, build quality. I guess Gloomhaven is a “harder” game.
I think this is a great question, but as of yet I have hundreds of hours in Gloomhaven and only a few sessions in Agemonia. So feel free to ask again as we put out more of these and I play more! But to me, I am very much enjoying it, and regardless of comparison this is one I would purchase myself and play through, so as a Gloomhaven fan, it's definitely engaging. It does at first glance feel lighter, but I try to remind people the first few levels of any game seem to feel lighter until you ramp up :)
Yeah, it is an unfair question, but for the same amount of money, you get a lot more quests, more characters and a whole lot of analysis paralysis. I tried finding Jaws of the Lion, but it is not readily available in Europe. I am looking for alternatives and only a good character development will make me buy Agemonia.
I'm just a nobody here but I'm in the middle (well, at the end) of Gloomhaven campaign and waiting eagerly to start my Agemonia journey. Having played the tutorials plus a single scenario in TTS I'd prefer Agemonia over Gloomhaven myself. And I love Gloomhaven.
In a nutshell I'd say that whereas Gloomhaven is a combat simulator with a small amount of story sprinkled on top of that Agemonia is an interactive story where the combat is just there to not make it too easy. The characters all have their own stories developing out throughout the campaign unlike in Gloomhaven where the characters are more like classes without personality. Even the reputation system in Gloomhaven is a shallow "good or bad" where the other choice is always the better one. Agemonia's similar reputation system is divided towards 5 pairs of competing factions and make much bigger impact on the world around you.
I can't but suggest Agemonia to everyone interested in a campaign game. The box is just a tad bigger than Gloomhaven one but both are freaking awesome games! 😊
@@alexvanrijswijk2743 Actually JotL is pretty easy to find in European stores. At least no problem in Spain (and yes, I'm talking about the English version). It is also available in the BGG Geekmarket
Pretending first matters!
The pronounce is not "Age" "Monia"? Like Hegemony?
/AGAMONIA/ sounds so strange
