Hello, was it ever discussed why more of a Felix Felicis was not used? For example in battle of Hogwarts? I'm sure it must have been very difficult to made but if Slughorn was able to give it as a prize in his class...just makes you wonder.
Harry and Dumbledore did not apparate from Hogwarts in the books - they went into Hogsmeade. Madam Rosmerta saw them leaving and communicated it to Malfoy
true also dumbledor states in the books that when he have to leave he goes to hogsmeade first and if one of the tavern owners spots him he says to them he goes for a drink to the other tavern
Wonder why Dumbledore didn't cast a Disillusionment Charm on himself. Perhaps too confident that Malfoy wasn't a proper threath.
Yes, but the spells that block apparition can be lifted and they are lifted for the apparition classes in HBP.
Also, House Elves can apparate and disapparate within Hogwarts.
Was going to type this and seen the comment
The title should be things you got wrong if you did not read the books
That does not explain the one about Hogwarts being the only school of magic. Even if your only source of information is the movies, GoF establishes at least two others.
I was thinking, "things you got wrong if you weren't paying attention"
@@Lordmewtwo151i forgot that piece of lore. In which parts of gof is it mentioned? Because indeed, i don’t see how hogwarts might welcome every wizard students of the whole country
@redfawkes8725 For the entire story they have students from two other schools. So I'd say all parts from the start of term onwards
@@alvismiti think he misunderstood. seems to be under the impression that you guys are referring to other schools WITHIN BRITAIN, not the out of country schools.
at least that’s what i’m gathering from the way the response was written 🤷♂️ (i.e., mentioning “students of the whole country”)
6:44 that's a horrible example to use with this. This only happens in the movie. Dumbledore, being headmaster, lifted this enchantment in the great hall during Harry's 6th year so they could have their first apparition lesson inside because the weather wouldn't allow it outside as was typical. He and Harry did not apparate to that cave from the astronomy tower in the book. They walked to Hogsmeade with Harry under his cloak. When they came back, they flew on brooms from Hogsmeade to the astronomy tower.
9:00 by the time it was necessary for them to have secret keepers, the Burrow was already evacuated. Arthur was secret keeper for Aunt Muriel's.
"All Slytherins are evil!"
King Arthur: *stares at Merlin with suspicion*
XD
Too many somehow believe that three of the four Hogwarts' houses are untarnished and pristine.
Slytherin wouldn't have gained the reputation it did if not for the Knights of Walpurgis, which did seem to be made up of Slytherin students that were orbiting around Tom, and their sons continued their tradition. However, JKR revealed the truth, and didn't lay his followers to just Slytherin.
“They were a motley collection; a mixture of the weak seeking protection, the ambitious seeking some shared glory, and the thuggish gravitating toward a leader who could show them more refined forms of cruelty.”-- JKR
She didn't mention any house, and they ended up becoming a gang of thugs headed by a grand thug. They were from all the houses, and those that were homeschooled. I think JKR modeled them on the Klan, and I believe that was where she obtained the surname, Nott. Nott was an early US physician responsible for scientific racism. Nott was also the closest to Tom.
Tom was a psychopath and criminal, and he showed that at an early age. Dumbledore laid his behavior to a lack of love, but psychopaths have no feelings, and they can feel no empathy. Tom would have been from the dark triad in psychopathy. Bellatrix was another, and she gravitated toward Tom.
Much of this goes back to Salazar Slytherin, and a myth told by gossipers. The idea of breeding pure bloods wasn't around during his time, since he was pre-Norman. Marrying cousins came over with the French aristocrats, and it was all about keeping wealth and power in the family.
It is my opinion that Salazar, when speaking of all magical families, meant just that, where labels such as pureblood, halfblood, and muggleborn didn't exist. It was about protecting the school from the rising Christian persecution of heretics, which became the Inquisition in 1184.
I think that Salazar created the chamber and basilisk to be used by his descendants if the castle was ever overrun by the muggles, such as the crusaders. The chamber was never opened for that, and until Tom came to Hogwarts. I also think that pureblood mania didn't exist until the Statute of Secrecy and the Witch Hunts.
11 year olds go first year to Wizarding school, and much like muggles they get notified of the new year a few weeks before start of term (usually summers). Fun fact; students of Illvermorny leave wands at school during summer break.
@@paulwagner9788 keeps them in line with the rules about not doing magic.
@@KJ-of6lfoof that sucks..
Completely pointless. There are schools where students don't even have wands so it's highly irrelevant. Also this actually sounds like ''taking wands by force.'' All students would lose ownership over their wands altogether. Does sound very American though. Nothing makes sense or has any substance to it.
6:42 "No one can Apparate or Disapparate in Hogwarts." Mostly **TRUE.** Dumbledore did Disapparate from Hogwarts by side-along Apparition with Fawkes. House Elves can Apparate and Disapparate in Hogwarts. **HUMAN** wizards may only use Apparition in Hogwarts when the rule is suspended, but Dumbledore did **NOT** Apparate with Harry from the grounds. He and Harry walked off the grounds first, and returned to Hogsmeade.
House-Elves can Apparate and Disapparate too, not sure if they can take humans with them though.
From malfoys home, dobby rescued Luna, olivander, the wand maker,Harry, and that's when dobby died.
@@emankcin1701 they can look at Doby in Malfoy manors cell, which had similar enchantments, or Kreatcher in the cave which also had similar enchantments
9:27 - Riddle [aka Voldemort] split his soul seven times. This means his soul was split into eight parts. The number of splits does not equal the number of parts.
I believe that Rowling had stated that Quirell was in fact, an ad hoc horcrux.
Dumbledore didn’t apperate out of Hogwarts when they went to the cave. They flew to hogsmede and apperated from there and Apperated to hogsmede again on the way back as in the book
In order of the phoenix Dumbledore used a statue to block voldemorts killing curse from hitting harry, love isn't the only way to block the killing curse as shown in the final battle where voldemort tried to kill Harry, but the elderwand refused to let voldemort kill it's true owner harry potter.
Also, Fawkes took one to the chest and, er, burnt it off.
Technically, he blocked it...
@@MrBrachiatingApe Actually, Fawkes swallowed the curse, though it still resulted in an instant Burning Day.
@@solaris9426 Doh! You are totally right--thanks for the correction. I had forgotten the specific (and poetic) way that moment went.
4:22 well because lot of outside the UK think England and the United Kingdom is the same. What is, indeed, incorrect.
7:05 They did not apparate for the mission in the cave, they flew on broomsticks to Hogsmeade.
The only thing that surprised me was that james potter was NOT a seeker🤨
me 2 i knew everything else
as stated in the video the author has been doing revisionist history after the fact. but once it is written in the books and put on the movie it is cannon and cannot be changed so he was a seeker as per the books and movie. it would be the same as when she claimed dumbledor was gay or if she claimed harry was sleeping with all the males of hogwarts. who knows maybe there is some truth to the shippers who put harry and ron or harry and dracko or harry and dumbledor together. but that is the same as the author changing things after publishing it is not true. although once could write their own story after the fact and change what they like. such as parry hotter and the school for gogo boys or something 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If Bill was the secret keeper, how could Ron reveal Shell Cottage when they were imprisoned at the Malfoy's?
That’s a good question and that's never dawned on me before, Bill does tell Harry in the book he's the secret keeper, but like you mentioned Ron is able to give the address out, and Dobby took like seven people and a Goblin there on Ron’s order, guess its a mistake JK didn't catch.
Perhaps they cast the Fidelius Charm off page, after the group had arrived at the cottage.
The patronus misconception comes from another misconception. Dementors can be communicated with in the books. Most dark wizards don't see a need to know the patronus because the dementors will generally leave them alone because they can help provide them a larger source of victims so dementors naturally tend to be more aligned with dark wizards. Umbridge probably didn't even need the patronus when she sent the dementors after Harry in OOTP
The poly juice potion thing is only for films because by keeping their original voice it's easier for the audience to believe Harry and Ron have transformed into crab and Goyle etc. crouch voice changed to keep the secret for anyone who didn't read the books.
Notable mention- most people think the teachers at the school select who gets a letter to hogwarts, but there is actually a quill (the quill of acceptance ) and a book (the book of admittance) both that were magically enchanted by the hogwarts founders to select students after they passed. Which makes Hagrids line “this boys had his name down ever since he were born” make a lot of sense
Also raven is another word for black and an eagle has black talons raven claw black talons ez but i seems only real ravenclaws get the name
Dont forget that Dumbledore blocked AK with the Elder Wand and Harry blocked it with the twin core.
Letters are sent to new students from wizard families, while for muggle born students an official from the school visits the home. There must have been some sort of miscommunication when they sent letters to Harry at the Dursleys. While Harry did have wizard biological parents, he was raised by muggles.
I think the idea behind sending the regular letter to Harry was that the Dursleys absolutely knew he was magical, even if he didn't himself. Mostly the Special Envoy's job is to inform the parents about the existence of magic, and likely the importance of secrecy on the topic.
It's also possible Dumbledore was trolling the Dursleys. It wouldn't be the only time he does.
Hagrid can fly unsupported tho. In the first book he says he flew to the rock in the sea when Harry asks him, yet brooms can't support his weight and there's no mention of hippogryphs or thestrals in the book
Hmmm...you're right. There's actually a lot about Hagrid that isn't known. For instance, why does Dumbledore trust him implicitly & how did he get to Godric's Hollow so fast when rescuing Harry?
He borrowed Sirius' motorbike but Sirius was in Azkaban. How did he know where to go to get it?
I'm sure there're other instances that I'm just not remembering.
Sirius was not in Azkaban yet. He was put there for the events that happened that night and the next day - betraying the Potters and supposedly killing Pettigrew and all the muggles behind him in the street the next day. He and Hagrid showed up to the Potter's cottage at about the same time, and Sirius gave him the motorcycle to help transport Harry, saying he wouldn't need it anymore himself.
@@clfoster82
Yes. You're right. I'd forgotten that.
He still got to the house on the rock tho, by, in his own words, flying. That doesn't make sense unless Hagrid is secretly a master wizard (which I'd support 100%). Then they stole the dursleys' boat and left them stranded, which is also funny, and leaves us with another mystery: How did the Dursleys get back home?
Just a note: yes the Author has final authority upon her characters AS LONG AS she doesn't contradict the primary work (in this case the 7 books of the main Harry Potter series itself) that caveat MUST be remembered
who made up these rules?
It's the act of killing that splits the soul, not just killing with intent to make a Horcrux. The whole Horcrux thing is just taking that newly split bit of soul and encasing it. Voldemort might have only intended to split his soul so many times, but with all the murder he committed, his soul is a fine powder by this point.
For the last one, it’s not just the fact that JK said it in a interview, James being a Keeper was explicitly stated in GoF
It was just a quick one-line sentence, but it’s in there
You are not a fan if you havent read the books at least once, dead center.
In the pheonix order Dumbledore block multipel avada kadabra with objects.
Classical fandom gatekeeping.
9:50 Voldi wanted to have 7 parts, 1 in his self remining and 6 in objects. Means he would have parted his soul 6 times. Plus Harry 7 times. But Harry was his 7. Part. The last, what he thought was his 6. split and 7. Part come later, we guess Nagini.
Not to do with the movies themselves but does anyone know where the fan-made myth about Harry’s screams in OOTP come from?
It seems to be VERY widely believed (and fiercely defended) by fans that Daniels screams are muted after Sirius’s death because it was ‘too upsetting’ for the other cast members to hear and that his screams were so painful due to Harry losing his Grandma that day
Neither of those things are true and are quite easily disproved by looking at interviews, the timeline of Daniels career etc and yet SO many people seem to adamantly believe it
Does anyone know? I’ve always been really interested to know where that came from and why so many fans think it’s fact
I always wanted to know where Falks went after Dumbledore died and he flew away! A Phoenix does not die, but bursts into flame and is reborn from the ashes so WHERE DID FALKS GO?
He left to live out in the wild, which is typical of a phoenix given their detached nature
@@stevenceja4706 Oh, I was hoping he would find someone who would love and cherish him as much as Dumbledore did!
@nanabutner Nah apparently phoenixes don't usually find new owners. Being immortal, they probably don't want to keep getting attached to people that they're going to out live lol
I believe that Rowling has stated that Quirell was an ad hoc horcrux...
Also, why to change James' team role? That was an unpleasant surprise, I believe he was a seeker in the books :/
Actually they walked to hogsmeade then apparated to the cliffs. Then they apparated back to hogsmeade. That's when they used brooms to fly to the tower because the dark mark was above it. During the flight Dumbledore lowered an EXTRA protective spell he had put in place that had nothing to do with the apparition prevention. As for blocking the killing curse he used a statue to block it. You still have to hit someone with the spell for it to work just like any spell. It's not automatic.
One misconception is fans get wrong, snape was a good man and a hero who loved Lilly. He was an asshole who only cared about his obsession with Lilly.
The thing that is even stranger is SO many people trying to claim that Snape really cared about Harry all along and was just hiding that fact
1. Snape was a total ass and bully to Harry from day 1
and 2. He literally says in the last book that it was always about Lily and never about caring for Harry
When Dumbledore asks him “this is touching Severus, have you grown to care for the boy after all?”
Snape replies “for him!?” and then produces his Patronus (which matches Lilys) showing that it was only ever about Lily all along
Funny is Ravens are witty, cunning and smart and can learn a lot. As Eagles, like most raptor not nearly as smart, as these Ravens and crows.
Dumbledore and Harry didn't disapparate from Hogwarts when searching for horcruxes. Instead, they went to Hogsmeade and disapparated from there
The only one thing from the curse child I could see as cannon some one in the ministry improving on a time turner to be able to change the past and not age and return to the present with out the need to go back “the long way around”.
Ok, i didnt know, or completely forgot that James was a Chaser. But if i remember, he was quidditch captain yeah?
Well the First: the letter To Harry was sent to him before his birthday, so it can’t be ^^
I'm pretty sure this misconception stems from Hagrid bringing a birthday cake when he picks up Harry.
In fandom this is often used to say that Hermione had almost a year to go crazy reading about magic. Also I find it odd that we are expected to believe that muggleborns will easily prepare for a magical school a few weeks before they are supposed to show up, This is obviously a reference to how the admission process to an exclusive school works (say, Eton) but those schools don't hunt down kids who have never heard of them, convince their parents to give them an education in something they never believed in, and take them off to a foreign and inaccessible location. It doesn't seem important that fans don't guess that this mess is the quote real way things work.
8:02 WELL may not incorrect. I think to fly with out any devices, like Voldi or Snape, the very most can`t do. You must be a powerful Wizard or Witch. BUT everyone can fly with out a broomstick (and Thestrals, Hippogriffs, ...Airplanes) Flying Carpets for e.g. are such things.
About the time travel part, you are actually wrong. You can actually change the past with a Time Turner but it is an ill-conceived idea to actually try as the Novikov Self-Consistency Principle is the only proven safe way to use time travel. But you can do it and I don't mean like they would do in the Cursed Child (which I know not everyone consider as canon). When Harry and Hermione travel back in time in Prisoner of Azkaban, there is a moment where Harry is ready to rush Hagrid's cabin to capture Pettigrew but Hermione stops him, stating that Professor McGonnagol told her of other wizards and witches who had made similar mistakes AND ended up killing their future or past selves... This would off course create time paradoxes but going by Hermione's warning not even that is impossible (which is just another reason why Time Magic is so extremely dangerous). Altering the past is possible but it would create paradoxes and isn't really healthy for the time stream. There is also the Pottermore example of Eloise Mintumble, whose horrifying time mishap caused her to travel back from 1899 to 1402 and not only on return aged 5 centuries, also caused the "Un-birth" of 25 people, causing them to cease ever having existed...
I always wondered by Griffyndor wasn't represented by a griffin and why Ravenclaw by a raven.
Random thought: we never hear Hermione swear, but given the number and calibre of muggle PMs she's had to meet since being Minister for Magic... ??
Oh wow 16 minutes after upload. Never been so lucky before. Thanks for all your great work, brother.
Ten things Ive never thought about. I read the books but a long time ago
dumbledore and harry aperating out of hogwarts was movie only. in the books they walked to hogsmead and aperated from there. the only time anyone other than an elf aperated within hogwarts grounds was the aperition students during lessons when the safeguards had been lifted only in the great hall and only for lessons
Yeah no, it is clearly stated that other items with certain ''invisibility'' enchantments exist but actually if we are following the book it does seem that by the end not only was Harry's cloak always much more potent than the other ones (as stated by Ron immediately) it ended up being a very special cloak and maybe even unique. The story hints that it is ridiculous to think that Death actually gave the hallows to the wizards but there is also no definitive answer to it in the book itself. It would cause too many problems for the story if these 3 items were simply created by 3 regular wizards no matter how talented they may have been. As is the nature with open answers, the truth would lie somewhere in between.
In the first book when Harry ask Hagrid how he got to the shack on the rock he says he flew?! I've always wondered if that was a mistake. He had no broom throughout the stories & in fact said he was to big to use a broom when he met Umbridge for the first time.
Well, he does have that flying motorcycle.
@@Lordmewtwo151 And yet they don't leave the rock on that motorcycle.
@@thecatfather857 Yeah, that is kind of weird.
Thestral maybe
I've noticed upon rereading the books and paying close attention to small details that, things change or are different in later books, for example, memory Riddle tells Harry in the chamber that Hagrid used to keep werewolf cubs under his bed, but werewolves don't exactly have cubs in HP, another example is after POA everyone seems to forget Sirius gave Ron his owl, for is it not only never mentioned again, but even Harry acts as he'd never seen the owl before when Ron sends Harry a letter at the beginning of GOF. Sometimes I wonder if JK even reread any of her books or kept up with small details when writing the other books and forgot some things.
Harry was a seeker of course. The one who SEEKS the little golden ball. Chasers are more than one and do another job
I didn't know that the Potter's house was not protected by the fidelius charm. I had also forgotten that James Potter was a chaser on the Gryffindor quidditch team.
Peter Pettigrew was the secret-keeper for the Potter House.
Where is it stated James was a Chaser? James was seen playing with a Snitch in Snapes memories. James was a seeker like Harry.
@@SevenTheMisgiven In a 2000 interview JK Rowling stated that James Potter played chaser on the Gryffindor quiddich team
@@jkrause365 2000? I don't think so.
i googled it and the books did not say james's position all they illuded to was harry was like his father which is why they put james as a seeker in the movies.. but when an author finnishes the book and its published they cannot go do revisionist history and when it was made into a movie she was a consultant on it and could have stated different then. so the 2000 interview was her on the spot and making stuff up not that james was a chaser as he was a seeker and that doesn't change the fact rowling messed up in the interview. it is like the time she claimed after the fact dubledor was gay when there was no mention of that in the books or movie. it would be the same as if she now claimed harry was bi and fooled around with ron and draco and dumbledor which never happened.
Who appointed you as the know-it-all?
I always thought that they blamed the voice difference on the potion because it was not done by an expert. Which makes sense if you think about it a second year doing it.
That does not explain the Seven Harrys scene in DH part 1. Iirc, Hermione, George, et al all still maintained their voices in the film.
@@Lordmewtwo151 well in the Chamber of Secrets it makes sense because there was confirmation by Harry and Ron by saying that they sounded like each other. But yeah I understand it was for the movies entertainment value to have it like with the seven Potters.
I think they just did that in the movies to help make it clear to a child audience who is who even while they are disguised by the potion
@@vamvam7690 yeah that too, at least they try to make an effort in the movie They said that their voices sound different and trying to make up for that. In the 7th movie I understand they did it for the audience to tell the difference as well as comedic value.
Awesome as always thanks ❤
could the secret keep be more along the lines of owner ship. arthur doesnt own the borrows but his wife does?
That flying myth results of the movies. I never knew why they let them fly in the movies. Could be the apparation, but they are dining this during the fight in the ministry of magic 🤔
Even in the books, there were (two) practitioners of the art: Voldemort, who invented it, and Snape, whom I'm guessing learned it from the former.
Edit: Based on HP Theory's coverage of this myth, there's apparently a few others. I have no clue who they are, but if any of them pre-date Voldemort, he didn't invent it. But I'm sure he refined it.
@@Lordmewtwo151 i know That, Button the Movies Nearly all adult witches and wizards fly around even during battle
@@diy_wizardI always assumed they did it that way for the movies because it was a lot more visually dynamic on screen and easier to tell who’s who when they were whizzing around through the air (black smoke for death eaters, white for Order members etc)
It’s pretty misleading though cuz it makes it seem like everyone and their mother can fly 😅
In reality all those scenes with Death Eaters or Order members they should have been flying on brooms or apparating
@@diy_wizard True.
I hated this in the movies. None of the fights has substance because they just turn into flying ink splodges all the time
Regarding polyjuice potion, wasn't it a thing that it didn't change voices of the trio because it was prepared by young wizards, unexperienced in potions?
When they make seven of Harry, the voices don't change either & that potion was supposedly made by Mad Eye Moody.
I assumed that the 'Raven' reference in 'Ravenclaw' was the color raven, like pitch black...so like Blackclaw, essentially. Naturally, merchandisers mistook this for the bird and everyone followed after that, which is a real shame and bugs the heck out of me.
I believe you’re right about the origin of Ravenclaw meaning Black Claw…especially where it’s supposed to be the Eagle as the house symbol because most eagles have yellow feet with black claws
It’s actually really difficult to find any Ravenclaw merch with the correct colours of Blue and Bronze and even harder to find any with the correct house symbol of an Eagle…it’s all Blue and Silver with a Raven like in the movies :(
Ravens are way smarter than eagles, so the raven would've made more sense as well.
The only thing I learned, is James's quidditch position.
Thx for letting me know.
:)
Fawkes was a Dumbledore phoenix not all phoenix
I've always wondered, is there anything in the Harry Potter lore that suggests Hogwarts is hidden by enchantments from the Muggle world? Realistically a Muggle hiker or some random person could stumble upon Hogwarts or see it from a distance, yet I've never seen anything that could paint this as a possibility. Curious to know the depth JK went into creating lore for her universe.
I believe Hogwarts is hidden by concealment charms and protective enchantments placed by the MoM so that Muggles cannot see it. They would only see a ruin with ‘Keep Out! Danger!’ type signs to keep them away (if I remember rightly - someone please correct me if I’m wrong)
Similar to how the snatchers couldn’t see the trio and the tent etc in the woods during Deathly Hallows due to Hermione’s protective enchantments I would imagine 🤷♀️
AK can't be MAGICALLY blocked (i.e. with another spell).
Exactly, AK can be blocked by physical objects getting in the way of the spell but it can’t be countered or blocked magically
The narrator maybe should have specified that as there are quite a lot of comments calling that part out lol
6:22 it can not be blocked be a spell or curse
Even the books show James as seeker the year he and a griffindor team with a player named mcgonagle won house cup
4:59 also wrong, no Slytherin can cast a Patronus. Yes is not in the books and the movies. And to be honest, you only ned a strong "happy" memory, evil or bad person can have them too.
Delores Umbridge is a Slytherin (and undoubtedly a terrible person also) and she could still conjure a fully corporeal Patronus which took the form of a cat, Snape is obviously another example of a Slytherin who can produce a full Patronus
The 1st thing is because of how it happened with Harry. However Harry was an unusual case, because the Dursleys didn't let Harry have his latter until Hagrid gave it to him. I believed all of those before I read the books. Just one small thing you were wrong about- Quirinus Quirrell was a technical Horcrux and you didn't mention him. Since Voldemort leched on to Quirrell and shared a body with him, it means he used him as a temporary Horcrux confirmed by Rowling in her website. This is not in the books it's something that she added.
But a Horcrux could only be made by killing, so Quirrell wasn't an actual Horcrux. Also, killing Quirrell didn't kill Voldemort. Did Rowling forget that?
@@flyonthewall8122 Voldemort killed a Unicorns for it. Unicorn blood was the equivalent to a murder of a human. It didn't kill Voldemort because he escaped in time. These are the downsides of what he did.
Glad to say I honestly knew them all! But about apparate and disapparate, isn’t it that the Headmaster of the school are allowed to do it so Dumbledor can do it because of that and not because of his great powers?
As far as i know Dumbledore never apparated in or out of the school. I think only house elves have the magic to get around that, which honestly is a serious oversight.
Dumbledore never apparates from within the school grounds in the books but he does lift the apparition block inside of the great hall at one point for apparition lessons if I remember correctly so it can be done
Dumbledore doesn’t use the ‘special privilege’ of being Headmaster to apparate himself as suggested in the films though
I was talking based on the movies though. I believe Harry says something along the lines (don’t know word for word): “But you can’t disapperate from Hogwarts” and Dumbledor answers “Being the headmaster of Hogwarts has its privileges”
@@kingbernie2183 yeh you’re right, in the HBP film Dumbledore does say that “being headmaster has its privileges” in regards to apparition but in the book Harry and Dumbledore apparate in and out of Hogsmead for that part of the story
@hannahframpton9235 Yeah I read the books many many years ago (but after the first five movies so I did see the movies before finishing the books) but can’t remember all the details of what happened there and not in the movies, the only thing I remember is that I liked the books 100x more and were left disappointed that a lot of details weren’t included in the movies. I just hope the new series will do the books justice and doesn’t make Ron a comic relief and Ginny to the weird person with 0 chemistry with Harry.
Why is James seen playing with a snitch if he’s a chaser though? I think JK does too much at times 😂
Yeah, I asked that too in my (very long) comment.
It was a stolen snitch, which is tiny and easy to hide. Be kind of obvious if he was messing around with a stolen quaffle.
@@rappscallion379 But it does give a funnier visual though...
As rappscallion379 said, he admitted he stole it (which isn't that special as they do have to be replaced after each match as they imprint on the first person catching them). James was a bit of a troublemaker and lose with the rules.
@@rappscallion379 Wouldn't the fact that he's messing around with a stolen snitch be kind of obvious as well considering he is notorious for releasing it just to catch it again? And as he's a bit of a showboat; it's not like he makes sure his friends are the only witnesses.
Dang James Potter being a chaser really slipped by me???
Please make a video about Castelobruxo!!!
Crazy to think a drink that changes you into someone else wouldn't change your voice too
I am pretty sure that here in our world we start school in the fall also..you have to be a certain age during that year..does this make sense..
First fact was kinda obvious cause clearly he’s been getting that letter for a while before he got it
I knew Hogwarts was in Scotland, I am actually from Scotland aswell!
Also I knew Ilvermorny, Durmstrang, and Beuxbaton and more
Imagine if nevil can fly XD
Also it was weird to say "yes, other magic schools do exist" when you already mentioned Durmstrang and Beauxbatons literally 2 minutes earlier
i love jk rowling but there is no way James is a chaser. did she forget what she wrote? man was drawing golden snitches and playing with them in every memory we see of him.
Can u do Lucous mslfoy vs. Author Wesley, who would win duell
As much as we all love the Weasley patriarch, I personally don’t think he was a great duellist. My bet would be on Lucius.
why would hermione granger suggest harry potter to tell about his dream to sirius black in Harry Potter and the goblet of fire? Does she already figured out that harry and voldemort's mind was connected?
Something that you would get wrong or wouldn’t know if you didn’t read the books any is not knowing that Vernon Dursley works in a drill manufacturing company, I don’t think that’s really mentioned in the movies any, is it?
Also, for Slytherin, being all evil, there were some villainous characters from other houses like wormtail being from Gryffindor, also, Merlin was from Slytherin too, and he’s considered the greatest most good wizard
I think you’re right, pretty sure that was never mentioned at any point during the movies. Even in the CoS movie where Vernon has that shmoozy work deal meeting at his house (the one Dobby ruins with the cake) I don’t think it was even mentioned then what he did for a living
Not even Dumbledore can apparate inside Hogwarts. Him and Harry had to go to Hogsmeade and then apparate. Get it right!!!
We need to see the other magical school in the tv series
A tiny plothole but nevertheless: term should not start 1st of September because it is not on Sunday every year 😊
I read the books, but more importantly: I listen to your chanel all the time. There's not much I got wrong.😅😂😊
James being Chaser makes lot more sense than Seeker. Because it goes a lot more with his character.
Chaser is more upfront whereas a Seeker is more strategiec.
as to james potter being a chaser are you sure she was referring to him not being a seeker. i ask because she wrote the books as him being a quidditch player and they have seeker in the movies. so if a writter finnishes with a story they cannot go back and say no no he was this instead as the story is already out there not in their head or in the works of being written. it would be the same thing as she claimed dumbledor was gay after the fact and would be the same to say harry was actually sleeping with all the males at hogwarts just to be woke. not saying harry was but if the author said that after the fact about harry you would think she was on some hard drugs or something. so no james potter was a seeker end of story no changing after the fact.
How do muggle parents know how to get their child to hogwarts after getting a letter? Or where Diagon Alley is?
How does the color bronze signify the traits of Ravenclaws?
So I looked it up and on Pottermore(not called pottermore any more, but I still call it that) it says this "This house crest boasts Ravenclaw’s signature colours of blue and bronze. The two colours are evocative of the air element, representing the sky and eagle feathers"
@lucydragneel3510 Ah, so it just further exemplifies the symbol as opposed to their characteristics. Thank you!
@@chaddon7685 No problem!
I disagree with the prophecies, Albus was a genius that doesn’t make him right every time, every prophecy in the saga specially those from Trelawny became true just not the way the characters at the moment interpreted.
Then why dont wizards use shields
Or even enchanted shields
What the.. James is playing with the snitch in the books. Why would chaser play with the snich?
Probably cuz he thought he looked cool doing it (same reason he was always ruffling his hair up) and maybe also to remind people he’s a quidditch star
Just being a show-off nob basically lol
Snape was not a hero! Why does everyone say this?
Most awesome vid!!!!!!
I give this 2 out of 5 stars difficulty .
7:06 not in the books
Fascinating.
House Elves can Apparate, and Disapparate within the grounds of Hogwarts
According to J.K. Rowling, pretty much everyone is related to Harry Potter. Is that mean, Albus Dumbledore and related to Harry Potter?
The one about Ravenclaw's emblem never made sense to me. Ravens are among the most intelligent birds known to man so it would embody the House's principles quite nicely. I guess Rowling was feeling trollish that day.
Eagles are clever birds too, they can hunt very strategically etc but yeh they don’t have anywhere close to the reasoning and problem solving that Ravens do
I think it’s more that ‘Raven’ as JKR wrote it didn’t have anything to do with the bird and was the old usage meaning ‘black’
That leaves you with ‘black claw’ which does describe and eagle well
Slytherin rules!
i mean the school thing is def wrong they cant be fans if they didnt watch the goblet of fire
If james potter was a chaser then why was he playing with a snitch in snapes memories?
Cuz it’s easier to twiddle with than a quaffle I’d imagine 😅
I always get that 11th birthday thing wrong
Hopefully the Ravenclaw bronze will return in the TV series

No, no news for me
