Good question. It’s definitely arguable in hindsight. At the time I think it was fair. It may sound strange cause he got to the final, but I still didn’t see him winning it all and he didn’t. So it could be said he fell just short of the dark horse to win it all category. But then, having him in B tier seems perfectly reasonable based on his performance. No doubt his stock rose during the event. What do you think? - Ross
Also, with hindsight about my reply, I’ll add, a great thing about rankings etc is that people move up and down based on performance and results. We saw that in a number of cases this weekend. Part of the fun is redrawing the rankings after the matches and continuing the debate.
If you pull guard you should lose 2 points right off. You also should have to hold the guy in your guard. The top guy didnt choose to engage your guard so he shouldn't be forced to with no effort on the bottom guys part besides sitting down I can't agree with.
I get what you’re saying. I don’t mind guard pulls being unpenalised so long as there’s action. I think the sport is still looking for the optimal rule on this. - Ross
