- The Palisade is Hyundai's largest SUV. On the outside you will find 22in wheels, modern style and full LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by Nappa Leather, 12.3in infotainment and digital gauge cluster. Under the hood is a 3.8L V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmision. Is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade a BETTER midsize SUV than a Mazda CX-90?

I test drove and reviewed both cx90 turbo s premium plus and a 24 calligraphy. Mazda’s engine is the best in my opinion but the amount of space it had made my decision very easy. Palisade also had very nice materials same as mazda. Ended up purchasing the same exact one that you are reviewing. Beautiful color combo. Burgundy exterior and beige interior! Very quiet and comfortable ride. Love the luxury and tech i got for the money. There is no other suv that can match this offering, period.
I appreciate you share that great intel
Same! I kind of went between the CX90 and the Calligraphy but ended up w/ the same color and interior Calligraphy. Ride was smoother, felt more spacious and it has more useful storage in the back. For me, the CX90 was also almost $8k more. The Palisade is more luxury-leaning while the CX90 is sportier. I have to say though, Mazda has much better colors. Palisade burgundy is nice but that CX90 in the dark ruby - dang. That was just sharp.
@@RaitisRidesi thought you were going to compare the PALISADE to the KIA TELLURIDE?
Yep. We are in the same boat right now. Looking at Palisade Caligraphy and CX-90. Interior much smaller in CX-90, no touch screen in Mazda and no ventilated 2nd row seats and no heated/cooled seats at all in 3rd row of Mazda. We also (wife and I) were also disappointed in the power and acceleration of the CX-90. Even though it's specs are more powerful than the Palisade, we felt the Palisade was much quicker and responsive. Just felt more powerful. The difference in price at the highest tier trim levels easily gives the Palisade the win with the Caligraphy being around 53-55k to the CX-90 being 58-61k with the Mazda having far fewer tech specs. And we were disappointed. My wife has owned 2 prior CX-9s, including owning one right now, and we really wanted that CX-90. It's beautiful. But at the end of the day talking price per specs/value, the Palisade wins hands down right now.
Same reason I bought my Santa Fe. My dad owns an Acura MDX, he paid twice what I did for my Santa Fe (highest trim) and my car has more bells and whistles than his for half the price. Besides, the quality is excellent, no complaints there, and maintenance costs are very low.
Just a little info for others in the market. I Currently own a 2021 Palisade. Lease is up in February and been driving all of the competiton the last few months thinking i want to try something different (cx90, pilot, telluride, atlas) and after each test drive I come back to the palisade every time. It is so much more luxurious than any of the competition (its not even close) and the engine in my opinion is fantastic with plenty of power. For under $50k for a fully loaded limited trim you get all the bells and whistles.
Finally someone sees how it is 😎 glad you had the chance to compare the experience with other models.
@andyb9664 exactly. I feel like I'm stepping into a 70k or more expensive vehicle every time I drive.
So just to complete my experience after all the test driving, watching 1000 raiti's ride videos and some others I ended up getting the 2024 Palisade Calligraphy Black Night Edition. I can drive around knowing I made the right decision. After coming from the 2021 Palisade I am thoroughly impressed how much refinement they have made in 3 years. The new car rides much smoother and quieter and I like the subtle changes they made to the interior. Its such a classy car for 55k (punches way above its weight class) and with the full blacked out version it looks just badass with plenty of room for 2 dozen Twinkies in the center console :)
@@jjvegas666 niiice, enjoy the new whip! 😎 Crazy that still half the price of a decked out escalade.
@@andyb9664 seriously. Not sure why anyone would pay twice as much. I guess for the status symbol.
I recently purchased calligraphy and I want to say, It is much better than Mazda cx90 in interior design and quality, but everyone has different opinions, palisade calligraphy is much ahead in price and quality.
This video finalized my decision to test drive and get a 2024 Palisade. I was thinking of going with a Santa Fe or Telluride. The Palisade just drove smoother for me and the tech was unmatched. Thanks Raiti. This is the second car you've helped me purchase. I was also able to get a dozen twinkies in the glove box alone. The dealer thought it was weird that I did that but I told him it was necessary.
I know when this refresh happened people didn’t like the changes up front but I dig it and sweet color too
I’m so glad this checks off both boxes for you
Joe and fam, Merry Christmas , thanks for the always enjoyable content.
Great video as always Joe 🎉
Love my 23 Palisade,16k and running awesome 💪
That’s so great to hear!
Beat purchase I've made. So much bang for your buck
Thanks for another amazing review😀
I just traded in my 2018 VW Atlas SEL for 24 Palisade Calligraphy! I cross shopped with the CX90 and I just liked the Pallaside better.
Happy holidays & have a blessed new year. much love to the Raiti's

Amazing review! Thank you!
Awesome review as always joe👍
Thank you my friend!
Just bought a '24 Calligraphy. Absolutely love it and its 'loads ' of technology.
Thanks for another amazing review. 🎉
I see the negative comments about Hyundai standing behind their product and it i have had the opposite experience. I have owmed only Hyundai's for over 30 years. I have never had any major issues. And the few small things were always covered by warranty. No questions asked.
Currently have my 3rd Santa Fe. 2023 Calligraphy and love it. 🎉
@marcogallo2266 That's great to hear. My 23 Sabta Fe i hope to keep long-term this time. At least 10 years. I purchased an extended warranty to cover everything.
I wont say Hyundai/Kia are perfect products. I am sure they have issues and lemons. Heck, look at the reviews on Range Rovers and Mercedes....cars which people spend good money on, and have bad reviews on reliability. So all makes have their issues. Buy my personal experience has been great and thats why i have stuck with this brand.
Enjoy and stay well.
I just bought a 2021 SE hyper white with only 15k miles for 29k. The previous owner bought the top of the line 20inch rims from Hyundai and brand new tires also had remote start installed at the dealership I got extremely lucky. This truck is amazing.
Congrats! That is so wonderful!
Great review with plenty of Raiti giggles.
Thanks for letting me share it all with you
Great review Joe. This car is very good but I can never get past the exterior. From front to back it just seems to be disjointed IMO. It drives well for a large 3-row midsize. Can’t compare the driving to a CX90 because this is front wheel based. For those that need room, a smooth drive, a touch screen, more useable tech and want to save $ this is better than the CX90. Overall, I’d do the Telluride and call it a day. Merry Xmas to all the Raiti’s and Happy New Year 🥳
Amazing review Joe.
I’m glad that I can bring it to you
i just want to say, thanks to your videos i got my self a 2019 mustang GT in 2019, and now this is vid may convince me and the wife to get this or the new Santa Fe, keep up the great work
That is so very awesome
You’ll love it! That’s the same car combination that we have.
Living in Michigan I always been strong on buying Ford, Chevy's or GM for SUVs. But that may change since this looks really Awesome and a great price. Thank you Joe!
So i bought one last month ..in that color but black interior…and I’m having the time of my life …there is a lot to learn …I’m having trouble turning off the heat ….this car gets very hot inside …love this car …
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
We seriously can’t decide it without you
Yes of course Joe & I'm planning on buy one.
In order to have quad exhaust, Hyundai would have to place the spare tire on the inside. This is the reason there is only exhaust on one side.
Thanks for that intel
@@RaitisRides You're welcome. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Comparable cx90 features wise is 8 grand more. I dont care if it has a "better" engine. Its a family crossover not a sports car. I bought a 23 calligraphy and i havent been happier
Thank you Joe for the drive 🎉 review and thank you Steve ❤ for the camera work 😅

Joe I gotta they totally reinvented the palisade, but I’m definitely digging that color & thank God no flat black also no gloss black
full of technology, sleek design and good balance between power and price....have a nice one
Room for a murse, a purse, sachel, I’m dying 😂😂😂😂 love this channel.
I wish more midsize SUV brands would offer bench seating on the top trim. I believe it's just the Atlas, Pilot and the Pathfinder that do so.
But as far as midsizers go, you're not going to beat the Palisade though it has gone up $4k since its inception.
It is surprising that they do not.
While more power and better handling are definitely desirable, the fact that most driving is on city streets, expressways and interstate highways. This fact alone negates the advantages of the CX-90. Since the Palisade has comparable luxury, more technology and space along with a great quiet ride and an $8-10,000 price advantage, it makes it much easier to make a decision. Unless of course all of your driving is on roads that go up, down and sideways. A new Palisade is in my garage. Thanks Joe for great reviews.
Love how it looks.
Nice that you can still get a non turbo v6...
When I get my inheritance I’m gonna buy one of these . Top trim dark blue with cream interior. Sweet ride!
Sounds like a plan!
Feliz Navidad Joe!
Same to you mi amigo
@@RaitisRides Yeah thank you.
The front grill of this Palisade gives the Lexus' front grill a run for it's money! 😄
I think you may be right!
This Pasliade ain't too shabby Joe. Not my favorite color, but wait to see what's in store for the redesign.
So very true Chris!
Great looking 👀 Suv but no CVT Transmission 🤔. 8 speed Automatic 👍. My sister and my mother just got one 😍
Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New year 🎆
Why would you want a CVT!??
Great video but nothing changed from the 23 to 24. (‘23 Palisade CGY owner)
Absolutely great car. I have a 2021 Palisade limited. BUT... The engine is already making noises at just 30k miles. And I do regular maintenance on it. The engine just isn't good, sorry to say. This year has the same engine unfortunately. Absolutely great car other than the engine.
I appreciate you sharing that ownership info:
I heard they apparently made some engine improvements for 2022 to make it run smoother.
That engine has been around for a very long time. Even some old Genesis models have the same engine. Its hard to believe that it is not optimized.
@@al151
That Hyundai Genesis 3.8 is not the same as the 3.8 in the Palisade.
See so many of these on the rds in my area

Did we finally get power folding outside mirrors for 2024?
Sorry Joe, this isn't luxury-esque as you said in the beginning. This is luxury af! 😀 Also for $53k especially! 6 heated seats, 4 vented seats, driver massage, buttons all silver finished etc etc. 2024 continues to be still the "most car for the money" 👀
You might be very right!
Fantastic vehicle, and Happy Holidays!!🎄
Merry Christmas Joe hoping I get that Jailbreak under my tree this year!
Fingers crossed for you
Love your reviews! Can you comment on the power train positives or weaknesses of this model? In seeing mechanical reviews of this model, I keep hearing how on the highway this car is loud and Hyundai chose not to take extra measures on sound proofing via thickness of windows, etc. Also have heard how the side mirrors don’t fold in except by manual-seems strange.
Thanks for the feedback and for tuning in.
I am dealing with a High Oil Comsumption issue with the Palisade. Loved it at the beginning but.....yeah might trade it in and leave Hyundai because of it
I just bought the 2024 Palisade Limited (one step down). Very small differences and $2500 cheaper. Great SUV!
I feel like my blood sugar goes up every time I watch a video from you, haha
I just bought that exact same car in that color …and I’m loving it ..everyday I find some stuff I didn’t know that it came with it …I’m having the time of my life …❤
That is so wonderful to hear! Congrats Nelson!
Great bang for your buck luxury 3 row SUV for $ 53k and its beautiful inside and outside. This would be a great family hauler for the price !
So very true about that!
I would like to see the Product Planner from Honda sit in the Palisade and Cx_90 and get their opinion of the Pilot.
Tell me about it
Wats bigger in space traverse or palisade 🤔
Nobody can beat the Mazda craftsmanship. Mazda built the best cars. T
Yeah the sales speaks itself. Nobody buys mazda
All the Asian stuff is pretty low quality. Go German or go home
I’m glad that you like them!
@@darkivaz-aaa1145I guess it depends on where you look
Nobody can match Mazda at how fast they rust too 😂😂😂
The telluride clears this vehicle looks wise
I hope me and my dad can get a chance to see you at the Columbus Auto show
I want the 24 palisade calligraphy blacked out trim (forgot the name) version with the white exterior paint but they cheaped out and used all black interior with those dumb suede insets on the seats…I want the typical, easily wipeable all leather seats that don’t grab at my clothes getting in/out and hold pet hair and whatever else spills onto the seats. I also like the light colored interior as it makes it look more like a luxury vehicle and looks bigger inside. That was a stupid move on their part to use the suede and not offer the lighter interior option for the darker out trim level since they charge more for the blacked out badging
I think this is good value for the money ..
Joe, i think the reason Hyundai can sell these suvs so cheap is they make their own steel in Korea, they don’t import it. Also the electronics including chips are made in Korea. That is why Hyundai is cheap. Otherwise this vehicle would have a price tag above $70k
That’s a very good point
for the kid-mistake jokes alone, this gets a thumbs-up!
For sure bro
I’m glad that I can share the laughs and the cars with you
@@Joshy_poo0thanks man
Would love to see a Calligraphy “N”. Stuff the 3.5TT in it, lower the ride, dual exhaust and beefier tires. I’m drooling just thinking about it 🤤
That would be really wild!
Yeah but automakers deliberately hold out from going all in cause they need to leave something for higher trims and their luxury counterparts.
For space yes. For driving experience no. But for features both are good
Good way to put it

Where do they put the AM/FM radio?

Yes
I like the color of this Hyundai Palisade but the CX-90 looks better and is more engaging to drive than this!
And better MPG
Us middle class people do not want to look at a BMW or something that is super pricey just to get a "luxury" feel. I looked at a Grand Highlander from Toyota and for $52,000 dollars. I cannot justify spending that much money for something that is "ehhh." Us middle class people are tired of the overpricing on these vehicles. So, with that being said, I went and looked at this Palisade Saturday and I will say I was very impressed. Everything in this car is luxurious except without the name brand. Just to get half of what this car is equipped with. You have to go to Lexus and spend about $65,000 dollars. Who has that much money to spend in the first place? I'm one to not have a car payment because I don't like car payments BUT I will say once I get the Toyota Camry paid off. My gf will be trading her car in and getting this car possibly. There is no reason why these Highlanders or Grand Highlanders should $40,000 or even $50,000 dollars when there is nothing in the car that screams that price tag... I have owned nothing but Toyotas but now, I will be making the switch because I feel like you get more bang for your buck when it comes to this Hyundai Palisade.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one.
Is CX-90 PHEV available in the U.S. yet?
Yes
Yes it is

Interior is nice except for the infotainment. I don’t like that layout and sad that most cars are going in that direction. I like what the cx90 did with their infotainment as well as the MDX. So far I have been decided on the cx90 but nothing has been able to beat it. This Hyundai is good looking though
Beautiful ride but.. def not a fan of how they do exhaust just on one side, feel like that takes away from the luxury look.

I would take the Hyundai though!
Right Hyundai have more tech than Lexus , I don’t know why and cheaper too
That’s a really great question
@@kromahjthis is very true
Does Acura offer massaging seats in their luxury SUV’s?
Because they're constantly breaking in newer vehicles. Toyota/ Lexus like things perfected so they don't break.
drove many cars up to 75000 . I was most comfortable in this and drove the best. Paid 51,000. Drove 200 miles back to my home and averaged almost 28 miles per gallon...nuts with a v6. With regular gas. Plus best warranty and 3 years free maintenance. Usually keep cars to around 50,000 miles. So i dont want to hear it wont last 10 years. Is the renewed 2024 Hyundai Palisade better in many ways (better than before) than the 2023 model?.
Sure why not
Palisade is excellent. The older gen has a paint/motor issues. No more.
Its still brand new. You can't say that until you've driven one for 30k-50k miles
Like Hyundais Tucson and the Santa Cruze
That is very true!

The Palisade Calligraphy has far more room. That’s about it. The CX-90 is literally a Baby X7. I’m rolling with the Mazda!
remember this comment, their next generations about to blow the competition out of the water!

4 cylinder engine in a copied BMW? No thanks. Hyundai is better
Palisade Calligraphy feels and drives like a $80,000 suv. I owned a mazda and traded in for the Palisade. The interior makes you believe you are in an expensive luxury suv. The materials, tech, ambient lighting and even heated third row, massaged drivers seats, list goes on. Crazy suv for the money.
CX-90 has a inline 6.
Design wise better than Japanese design
This vehicle pretty much has everything you need.
Has everything except for reliability…
That is a very good point Ricky!
I see what you did there!
I'm glad I own the pre face-lift model. The grille is way too massive on this current version. Granted, it does look more modern, but I prefer the pre refresh.
Will Hyundai do a HYBRID setup on their SUV and also their ELANTRA and the SONATA
I am sure that it si coming eventually.
I never understood why the vehicles in USA or made for USA market, most of them look like "egg" shape! If you go to EU or Asian countries, vehicle models are so eye catchy and beautiful, and sharp looking. Those vehicles never make it to USA market. People in USA are missing out big time IMO.
