- The Palisade is a 3-row midsize SUV from Hyundai. On the outside of the top Calligraphy trim you will discover 20in wheels, unique grill finish and full LED lighting. On the inside you will be greeted by a full leather and tons of technology. Under the hood is a 3.8L V6 that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Hyundai Palisade a BETTER midsize SUV than a Honda Pilot?

A long family trip would be a pleasure in the Palisade. The massage seat for the driver is wonderful.
Yeah all those features are cool but how’s the reliability more features more problems
As a former palisade owner, I agree, wiper under rear visor. I have the tucson Limited, and the wiper is hidden !!! Glad they added power folding mirrors !!! Wish they would add a hybrid version !!! Yes quad exhaust !!!
I just bought my 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy last week. It really feels like a German luxury vehicle offering all the luxury options and addons in half price tag. Well Done Hyundai. You got a new fan!
Cheers we bought one last week too….
Palisade and Telluride are proving to be fantastic suvs
Nice review keep up the good work Joe
But what about the engine
As long as you lease them for a max of 24 months
Reliability?
Great review, as always. I traded a 2021 Aviator for a 2023 Palisade last June. Same color scheme as the one you reviewed. Love it. After a fender bender in her 2022 Santa Fe, we just traded for a green 2024 Palisade. Both are the Caligula (just a joke, folks) trim. These vehicles punch way above their weight. Lux feel without the lux price. Not bad on throttle either.
i always love your videos i really appreciate that you make videos like this i got my car because of your review. thank you 🙏
Hey Joe, we disagree on shiny chrome but I do agree with you on the painted fender openings. Thanks for all you do!
Amazing review Joe.
Test drove all three rows before making my decision on the 24 Palisade Calligraphy. Best suv i have ever owned. It is so luxurious, quiet and smooth on the road. The only downside is the HK sound system with no bass or mids!
Take it in might be defective. HK always provides
My 2024 Palisade Limited got plenty of bass and mid range….👍👍
Mine has the same problem, not enough bass, my 2013 Santa Fe infinity sound was amazing compared to this…
Joe...come on. OF COURSE, we agree with you re: the quad exhaust and hiding the windshield wiper! :) Anything that enhances the symmetry and sleekness of the design is a GREAT call.
I agree Joe, quad tips. Besides that, it’s a gorgeous Palisade.
I like the aluminum finish as well 👍……….nice interior too. Yes ! Quad tip exhaust please….😎
Yes of course Joe & this will be my first SUV.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Ahaha came for the review, stayed for Raiti. Been goong to ur channel and Redline for car reviews. But you are definitely funny with your food lines 😅😂
hey, i watched your escalade review adn no matter what other SUV review I see whether its from you, or from anybody else, escalade is on top. love your videos btw
Agree 200%!! Quad tips would be amazing. Hate that they only do the 1 side.
@@Brian_Eugene_Lee why just 1?
If you choose the Beige Interior, it is 2 tone and the steering wheel is 2 tone as well, with the beige facing you and the blue away from you. The piano black with the stripes on the door panel is replaced with a faux wood panel. The Beige interior looks more cool than the black interior.
The 2nd Row seats are not only ventilated, but heated as well.
“Give me some sour cream dip” 🤣🤣🤣 you are the BEST Joe👍🏿
Joe, I just bought one of these this weekend. I love this damn thing so much and it’s a steal at this price point vs the competition.
Yep I agree with you, this feels more modern and in charge on the road than the pilot with their meager 9” screen
Another great video. Very detailed coupled with a few jokes!
Totally agree! Quad exhaust! They don’t because of the spare tire placement
Raiti did not mention that the headrests on the 2nd row seats are the "Wing" Type. They fold a little bit to hold the head in place.
We looked at both the '24 Hyundai Calligraphy and the '24 Honda Pilot Elite. We went with the Hyundai after having owned a 2019 Honda Elite. The Palisade has Better features, better technology, better price, better warranty. No Brainer!
The Honda Pilot Elite AWD does NOT have a digital rearview camera. It has a cool 8 passenger seating with the middle 2nd row seat that can be stored in the trunk.
Joe Raiti ladies and gentlemen!!! 💪🏻
Agree on quad tips
It's really nice looking!!
I have same Calligraphy with Beige Interior but couple of corrections.
It does not have wireless apple CarPlay or android auto, Its wired.
Second no power folding side mirrors.
Otherwise Great Review :)
Turns signal is with long beam in 1 ? And silver finnish ?
It is NOT wireless Android Auto & Apple Car Play, but wired. During the outside back, Raiti forgot to mention the rear view camera.
Just bought a 2024 Palisade Limited in AWD and love it…traded my 2019 BMW X3 in on it.
You sure about the folding exterior rear view mirrors? Wireless Android Auto??
I appreciate the different vehicle of comparison, but I think it's a bit redundant to do another review of the '24 Palisade Calligraphy. I would have appreciated something like a different trim level, or maybe the Night Edition.
I love this thing!
Does it have power folding side mirrors? Does it have a spare tire?
Loves you videos
Yes. Both the telluride and palisade are better than the pilot
The side mirrors are NOT power folding. They are auto dimming (both outside mirrors)
I have kept both , new pilot is insanely practical especially if you have family and kids, in pilot the cup holder features and middle removal seat alone is worth it, like you pointed in the video, door pockets in palisade are not great
I agree, one thing a lot of “economy” SUVs are overlooking is storage space which is a huge factor for people’s decision with a family car including my family’s, hoping I’m speaking for a lot of others too
I think this is a great point. Both are amazing in their own way
Joe if you have a chance, can you review the 2024 Hyundai Santa fe. It's been out at dealers about 3 days now
Quad tip agree!
I love this guy- “Bam, bam, thank you maam!” 😂😂😂
Ambient lighting? Honda has to change the info center way to small.
I agree 100%
I need to know how many Publix’s subs I can fit into these storage compartments. Most important for us Florida boys! Lol
100% for wiper under the spoiler and quad tip exhausts
Honda is way behind in design with its SUV’s IMO. This is better.
A Palisade N would need the quad tips. Calligraphy, dual tips are fine
People might think I’m being sarcastic but I actually like the interior of this better than the BMW X5 and X6, but I like the exterior design of the BMW much more.
Fyi apple car play and android auto are still wired in the palisade. Love your reviews Joe!!
Im waiting for VW Atlas Peak Edition test drive on your channel ( l found just the video at auto show)
They're unable to do a quad exhaust because of the spare tire underneath.
QUAD TIPPED DEFINITELY I AGREE AND TOW PACKAGE
It is ready for towing! Has all the electronics to support towing, but only weird thing the actual hitch is an add-on. Can tow up to 5,000 lbs.
That's a pretty nice SUV.
Palisade all the way ! I agree with you the rear should have 2 exhausts! I think it looks dumb with one 😔
As for the rear window wiper being located at the bottom of the window, it is more efficient in that location. Complaining isn't going to make them change it. Besides, most people don't even notice it.
I have seen many reviews where people have said the vehicle is noisy on the freeway due to lack of noise insulation under the car.
I think that is older models. This one doesn't seem to have the issue. Measures average for midsized vehicles.
Raiti and these beanie babies😂😂😭
I wouldve wanted the quad tip exhaust
now that is has been out a few years, how reliable is the engine, transmission, and electrical of these things, i really want to like it but since it is new and a Hyundai i am hesitant
Engine has been around for way longer than the Palisade itself. Long enough for anyone to make a judgement. Palisade has been out since 2019
Power folding side mirrors ? First time in pallisade
Yes it should be quad tips
I was surprised to hear about power folding mirrors. Did some digging, and it's not true. Maybe in 26?
Can u do the 2024 hyundai sonata
My ex palisade had frequent oil leaks so bought a pilot
Quad tips for the Palisade N. Maybe. You never know.
I love the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy trim I think it's a nice nice SUV. My question is, is the Palisade reliable or not?
Its not
@@90cents49 What?
It is! Along with the Telluride
@@josephalba978 Oh that explains a lot.
@@LuisUrbieta90cents was just talking about their own opinion - it's not reliable. 😉
If hyundai has the level of reliability like honda or toyota i would definitely buy😊
They somehow have a 10-year warranty but I'm still not sure about them.
@@kingofthenerds7925 warranty is an eyewash 🙂
Owned Hyundais for twenty years. I find them reliable and backed by longest warranty. And they provide more features for the money.
Like it. Yesssss
That part....On the quad tip for both sides🤔
Random question: Since the rearview mirror is digital….can the brightness be adjusted at night?
yes it can be
Mirror is both. Standard rear view mirror with light dimming for night or flip it for digital.
Absolutely quad tip. Would make a huge difference
mirrors are not power folding....just bought one last week. Calligraphy model.....
My kids get car sick easily in the back row, do you think the pilot or the palisade would be better?
Just don’t love the grill
I went with the pilot. I agree there are features on the palisade that outshine the pilot, but at the end of the day I went with practicality, reliability, and the somehow always overlooked IVTM4 all wheel drive. I took the pilot, touring trim, to goblin valley in Utah and it blew me away with how capable it was on trails I really shouldn't have taken it on. I think if you own anything for more than 7-10 years, you'll be glad you went honda instead of hyundai, but that's just me.
Power folding mirrors are not an option on any Palisade. It is something I wish they would add to such a nice vehicle. I also do not like the seam all the way around the steering wheel. Why would they do that. Other than those two items, I love the Palisade.
Side mirrors are NOT power folding. No WIRELESS Apple CarPlay.
I like the Palisade, looks really good but the Pilot is my go to, I wouldn't think it twice.
Quad tip all day #Symmetry
Palisade for me.
corrections... 26 mpg hwy and no power folding mirrors on any palisade trim level... just sayin!
Are they come with spare tire
Yes underneath the trunk area
But how is the reliability? I had a 2012 Kia Optima with that same GDI engine and my car only lasted 150k miles. I bought a 2021 Toyota Highlander with a V6 and I can say it might be more reliable than the Hunyadi.
That GDi engine is an I4 Theta II. I believe that V6 is a Lambda placement. Been aroun for years and not bad
The highlander WILL be more reliable than the Hyundai. Especially ten years down the line when the Hyundai will be scrapped off because it’s no longer roadworthy.
The GDI engine affected is the 2.4L Theta II which has been replaced by a 2.5L on the low end. The others including the V6 powerplants remain reliable. I have a 3.3L GDI in the Santa Fe (2017) and a 1.8 in the Elantra (2016). Both have been trouble free and I keep up with the maintenance.
But you're correct. You're not going to find a smoother or more reliable engine than the 3.5L V6 from Toyota. Bummer that they've switched to the turbo 4 which is noticeably rough sounding.
@@chiemekaa it’s sad that all the good quality vehicles are going away and being replaced with crap like a 4 cylinder turbo in a SUV. That makes zero sense in my eyes. I don’t get it.
hi macaroni Joe - how ya doing?
I was a V6 guy until I drove a Toyota Highlander four-cylinder turbo with extreme power over a V6. Hyundai Kia still have old-school engines that haven’t changed for years and does not even come close to Toyota reliability. You know that in the resale value
A NA V6 will always be better than a 4 banger turbo. Engines are butter smooth with a NA V6 the highlander with the turbo 4 banger now isn’t anymore. Horsepower is less but you get better torque but that’s it. V6 will always be better
I have an older TH model with the V6. I can get on board with that turbo but not until a major exterior redesign!
Decent review, but didn't do a complete comparison between the Palisade and Pilot as alluded to in the title of the video. Also, need to address the elephant in the room: Reliability.
I just can’t believe it starts at 57k now in 🇨🇦
Wild increase eh
2024 Chevy Traverse Z71!
Everyone who saying they would go with the pilot the tiny updates they did like making the removal middle seat like the acura and the room in 3rd row its still very outdated pallisade and telliride still has better bells and whistles
Not everyone wants bells and whistles. The Honda Pilot would be the better choice
The wheels are lovely. But I'd hate the job of cleaning them. My eyes would cross, I'm afraid!
The Palisade is getting a redesign in 2026 and it’s expected to get a little bit bigger in size
@Brian_Eugene_LeeThey don't use the 2.0t anymore it would probably be the newer 2.5t
Exhaust tips, both sides!
Let's go Hyundai...Get 'er done for Pete's sake!
The Palisade is a very nice family sized hauler that has good bang for the buck, most SUV's this size will be around $80k price tag, it also gets very good gas mileage (25mpg on the highway) is pretty awesome for this sized vehicle, I can remember when most cars didn't get 25mpg.
It would have been nice if you did a side-by-side comparison. I'm looking into a mid-sized 3-row and it's between the Pilot and the Palisade. Toyota costs much more than both and they can take their 4-cyl and shove it. Both the Pilot and Palisade are just about equivalent in all aspects including cost, and both have their hits and misses. So it really comes down to preference and what feels better to the individual buyer. I think the Palisade could have done better with a bigger rear storage compartment under the floor, the one in the Pilot under the floor is much bigger. Though with the pilot, if you opt for 2nd row captains chairs, you're left with a weird, ugly almost table-like thing between the seats that's supposed to be a step, but it's more of a trip hazard.
Oh for sure, pilot doesn’t even deserve to compete.
My niece loves her Honda Pilot.
Exactly! All there Suvs are Santa Fes lol Even the Genesis. Still Santa Fe lol
