    If I dont want to use cellular, just SD card. What quality are the pictures and video going to be saved to the card? Also do you have a recommendation for a cam if i dont want cellular ? Thanks

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  3 дні тому

      The photos and videos saved to the card are pretty good quality. If you aren’t using this for cellular, then there are better and cheaper alternatives out there. I’m a big fan of the solar-powered non-cellular trail cams as you most likely won’t need to worry about buying (or changing) batteries. I have quite a few trail cam videos on my channel. Search for solar trail cam and you should find some good info. 👍🏻

    I know youve tested them, but my spypoint link micro (i think thats the name) seems to have pretty good AA battery life. I use lithium energizers, nearing deer season, i use new batteries and have it transmit 6 times per day, bow opener ill toggle between "transmit each event" and transmit 12 times per day, and ill remove those batts and put new in the camera in Jan, and put camera on my driveway, on my driveway transmitting once daily those batteries will.run from jan till aroumd August. Of course all this data is specific to my application, but i am pleased with it for the cost. Just received 35 pics from my corn pile😂 gonna go check em! Thanks for the review, your collected data is super important for your viewers. Saves a lot of people a lot of heartache. Thanks for that.
    Edit- deer do hear my cam trigger. Thats one thing i dont care for. Thanks again!

      Hey thanks for the input! I was impressed with the Spypoint LM2’s battery life. It’s a very similar model to the link micro. Best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

    So I have a question, and can’t get a clear answer. For the gen 3.0 you can get on-demand video with the upgraded subscription?? Ive looked at multiple videos on the difference between the gen and pro and everyone is saying you can’t get on-demand video on the gen 3.0.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  Місяць тому

      Ah man… I have not tried out that extra plan that they offer. I’d have a quick chat with customer service on their site. Their response time is actually pretty good. Thanks for watching and best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

      @@mountainbuck so idk if this will help anyone out, but I ended up getting the X gen 3.0 and you can get on demand hd photos and videos through the upgraded plan. Works great, the videos are clear and the hd photos are a plus. Also didn’t know they have an option to colorize your night time photos. Not something I knew about, but a cool feature.

    How would you compare the 3.0 to the Moultrie Edge Pro? On the fence about which to get. Currently running Reveal 2.0s but looking for some additional cameras for this season.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 місяці тому

      The Edge Pro has better image and video quality. The Reveal has 30 second videos. I haven’t had a chance to check out the new Edge cameras. I know they are up to 20 second videos now.

  • @gibsonbees

    question? if the video feed is triggered and it records for 30 seconds how long will it take to begin recording again after that initial 30 sec recording?

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  Місяць тому

      That is a great question. This is why it’s important to have the right SD card (class 10, U3, 32GB) because you will have a faster write speed. That being said, it may take a little time before the camera triggers again after video recording. It also depends on your delay settings. Thanks for watching and best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

    I was curious how the image quality of the pictures and videos compare to the 2.0’s. I have three of the X-Pro 2.0’s and wondering if it’s worth upgrading or waiting around for the next generation.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 місяці тому +2

      Hey thanks for watching. The original X-Pros have a 16 megapixel camera. The new X 3.0 and Pro 3.0 have a listed 4k camera (I believe it is 20 MP). So the image quality is better, but the real benefit (in my opinion) is the length of video. You get 30 full seconds with the new 3.0 models and 15 seconds from prior models. Best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

    Iv had the 2.0 out in the field for 2 years & recently purchased the 3.0 pro a few weeks ago. My advice is stick with the 2.0. The 3.0 has been nothing but problems, its been so bad that i had to remove it from the field. Compatibility with solar panels isnt good, battery life is way worse then any trail cam i have used & the internal sd card reports full in a week or so max. The batteries report dead in days no matter what batteries i use in it. Way to many headaches to deal with when you rely on them as i do. Video & picture quality are excellent though.

    How’s the gps work? I hunt public and my cameras get stolen all the time

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  Місяць тому +1

      Hey thanks for watching! The GPS will update when the camera checks in. The camera does have to be on for the GPS to work. So if someone swipes it and doesn’t fire it up, then you won’t be able to see its location.

    How does the gps work. With the double a batteries or is there an internal battery for the gps. We have Thieves around here.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 місяці тому +1

      There isn’t an internal battery as far as I know. I would imagine the AAs have to be in place for the GPS to work, but reach out to customer service to be sure. Thanks for watching and best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

    I a have couple XB trail cameras and a x 3.0 pro. In my opinion the picture quality is no different and the trigger speed is no different. The only difference is you don't need a SD card are a service provider sim catd in the x 3.0.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  Місяць тому +1

      I actually like the XB image quality better and you’re right, I see no difference in trigger speed between the new 3.0s and the older models. I do really like the 30 second video clips though! Thanks for watching and best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 місяці тому

  • @royguidry1311

    Well ok, it has great battery life like a Moultrie, 30 second videos like a Moultrie , finally has the already installed cell sim like the Moultrie, does need an SD card unlike the Moultrie. One big difference. Bass Pro had 2 packs of Moultrie for 79.99, yup 40 bucks a camera. At those prices I can put up 4 cams for the price of one.

    • @mountainbuck
      @mountainbuck  2 місяці тому +1

    Man unless I’m missing something here, you cannot request pictures from the standard 3.0. I have two of them with the extra plan. There is no option to make a video request on the standard 3.0’s.

    Do people really want to be changing out $15 worth of batteries every 30days?

    • @mountainbuck

    They think they got something really good with this X3.0 but it is something really inferior to some of their other models. Well it's inferior in one very important way. You have to pull the SD card in order to see your video. You can't have a video sent to your phone. I could be wrong about that but nobody will answer the phone to let me know if I am wrong about it. H a! What a joke for customer service

    • @mountainbuck

      Hey thanks for watching. Apply any software/firmware updates and wait a bit. You should be able to get your videos to your phone.
