Thanks a lot for these valuable tips. I now own the E-M10 mk iii already for a while and couldn't find any instruction book on how to use it for the best. Some settings are now more clear en useful. By the way, I just realised that my first digital camera, around 2005, was an Olympus C5060 wide zoom, already with a fully articulated LCD panel. Amazing. I still have this camera :-)
Thanks for the video. I wonder if Olympus will ever consider grids like Root 2, 3, 4, 5 which may aid photographers to explore other ways of composing photos. I find that having these grids in mind help me compose, it would be interesting to have them in camera. Can you imagine one day having an open platform to allow users to program things into your camera? I know Olympus did that with the Olympus Air, I firmly believe that allowing users to further customize the camera.

@@ForsgardPeter its doesn't keep RAW file unfortunately. . I shoot RAW file only and I sent one file on my phone. When I came home and transferred all my images to LR that file which i choose was JPEG only...
Peter, you missed histogram settings (highlight and shadow limit) and Auto ISO limits and settings. Maybe you missed that purposely because you have that in another videos but it is good, especially for beginners or new users of Olympus, to have that all in one place. (And it could be confusing for begginers when you suggested in Part I to set camera color space to Adobe RGB (for more color information) and in this video in demo, your camera is set to sRGB).
Yes, you are right. The sRGB is for jpg only shooter. I was not clear enough on that. The histogram settings are a bit tricky. The whole system of making an exposure with flag colors is a whole new story.
Hellow from Uruguay. I use an OM-D 10 mark iii. Learning.. I have some issue. In indoors shottings when I set A as priority the S go too low, like 13. And my little baby moves too fast! And when ISO is auto it go too high, like 6400. Ok, low light but in manual i got much better convinations. Any comment? Thank you very much!
You just have to find the right combination on shutter speed and ISO. ISO 3200 should be ok and you will get better results. Have you tried exposure compensation?
The E-M10 III is a much better camera than one might think. The testers pass it off as a toy device for the family. It's wrong! It has a lot of resources and is very reliable. It can even jostle the EM-5 mark II in certain circumstances.
@@ForsgardPeter I removed the lens, checked the menu, did everything i could but i simply had no image, as if the lens had a cover. My last option was to remove the lens and press the shutter button. It worked.
Hi Peter. Your videos are usually very good, and to the point, but, certain ones dealing with settings and other tutorial topics move a little too fast. I understand that "English" is not your first language and, usually, I have no trouble following.., but, as I said certain subjects could use a slower presentation. I look forward to your comments and enlightenment as I have decided not to jump from camera to camera, format to format, but rather to stick with the Olympus M43, and learn it thoroughly.., and.., maybe, become a better photographer. Thanks
Yes, it always a problem with the tutorials. It is sometimes hard to follow. In a lecture or a one-on-one sessions it is easier to stop and ask the instructor questions. Video sometimes is not the best format, but it is still quite good. A lot of viewers just stop and set the settings and continue. I know it is not the best way, but for it works. Thanks for comment.
two things: 1- I want to see the exact EV setup that finally sensor is going to record, on my EVF and LCD. Say if I purposely bring the EV to underexposed, or overexpose, see it exactly to the degree of it, in the real-time. But currently, my EVF/LCD shows the best view and not the real scene. How do I get there? 2- For night sky photography/astrophotography, I like to increase the EVF/LCD for better focusing and seeing what is there. I simply don't find that option. Can you help? btw and 10:25; Thank you sincerely for pointing this though you didn't show that mysterious (Thank you Olympus) bottom. I guess Olympus was trying to test the photographer's IQ on this topic and I proved to be a perfect candidate for the USA presidency, at my test result, only if the current winner can kick the Trump's @#$ of the white house!!! @@ForsgardPeter its doesn't keep RAW file unfortunately. . I shoot RAW file only and I sent one file on my phone. When I came home and transferred all my images to LR that file which i choose was JPEG only...
hello, do you know why the 24p is read as 23.98 in final cut pro? thank you very much
To be honest I am not an expert on frame rates. Here is an article that has some info about that: blog.frame.io/2017/07/17/timecode-and-frame-rates/
The only thing the OM-D E-M10 Mk III needs now is exposure bracketing in PASM not just AP.
Este jedna otazka preco mam firmware na Oly m10iii s iba 1. Kedze za omd 10iii je uz 1.2? Dakujem za odpoved
You need to upgrade it. Here is a link to a video on how to do it: ua-cam.com/video/UJ3WaV2AaIk/v-deo.html
How come the F section is all dark o my camera? In other words, I am not able to access the section
Do you have some special settings on or video?
I recently bought my first Olympus ( em10 Mkiii) and I don't understand why the pictures I take are so small its around 3 megabytes
Have you checked the image quality settings?
@@ForsgardPeter I'm afraid I haven't found it
unless that's what was in the video because I did it but the the images still around 2.5 - 3.5 Mgb
how can i switch to the raw modus at my olympus camera?
Super panel the second column - last item - Press Ok button and choose RAW.
The E-M10 III is a much better camera than one might think. The testers pass it off as a toy device for the family. It's wrong! It has a lot of resources and is very reliable. It can even jostle the EM-5 mark II in certain circumstances.
You are absolutely right.
Hey man how are you doin? Can you please help me?
I am doing fine. How are you. How can I help?
@@ForsgardPeter im good. Thanks for answering back. I baught my first mirrorless camera. Its an olympus em10 m3
@@ForsgardPeter im not sure if theres a problem with the shutter, but for for a moment it didn't show any image on the screen or EVF.
@@ForsgardPeter I removed the lens, checked the menu, did everything i could but i simply had no image, as if the lens had a cover. My last option was to remove the lens and press the shutter button. It worked.
@@ForsgardPeter do you think this might be a hint of future problems? Is the shutter prompted to get jammed?
Hello is there a way to save my zoom preference e.g 28 mm when i change between two lenses?
No, I do not think there is. Unless the camera remembers the last zoom setting. You have to turn lens reset off from the menu.
Thanks for comment.
two things:
1- I want to see the exact EV setup that finally sensor is going to record, on my EVF and LCD.
Thanks for the good review and you give a better color to already perfect things Olympus creates.
EVF and LCD are never excatly the the same as the recorded image. On Olympus cameras you can use the flag colors to make it as close as possible.
Since i have this camera, I always have this problem i would like someone to help me with this, is the Video Settings okay so my camera is on Manual mode I have my ISO,APPERTURE and Shutter speed set, but when i started recording video, it automatically starts shooting the video in Auto mode without obeying my video setting orders, this camera only records auto? because the only thing i can move is the light compensation
Yes, unfortunately it does not.
@@ForsgardPeter I fix my problem! its possible to the camera to obey your orders
Great, I remembered that wrong.
Sergio Culebro you can only fix it in 4K, but not for FHD (1080p) videos which only have auto when recording. Is that correct?
!!
