She's on billboards for a restaurant chain here, promoting a chance to win five signed boards. She's probably as recognisable as Topalov now if not more.
Pretty good for Bulgaria. Topalov was a world champion
Wow...now that's nonsense. They're pushing this women thing too far now.
Until her amazing success in the tournament, she was mostly unknown in Bulgaria and basically became famous overnight. Even people who follow chess here were surprised. I hope the government and whatever chess federation we have manages to get her some money, as she had to rely on a private sponsor to even travel to the tournament, I think.
Actually, WGM is a far harder title to achieve than IM for about half of us.
Omg another simp over here. What is going on in the world ?! Why ?! ..Are dudes being paid for this or something ? Like it's just straight stupid now.
We have the Technology!
Ben seems so much happier when giving prepared lectures than when streaming. This was an especially good one. The muzychuk game was my favourite, i think, because a) winning by a single tempi in a sharp position is awesome, b) two bishops, vat else?
Nurgyul was super fun to watch at the World Cup, thanks for doing these games!
Nigel Short, the current holder of the respect women's chess award
all the more fitting result then
Listen women can defend themselves. All you Gen Z boys don't need to be worrrying about defending a womens honor all the time. It's annoying already. Just mind your business.
😂

Do you need a bottle of water?
@@patrykapiezo1650 No but we can all calm that down already.
Oh yesss a full length Finegold lecture !!! Salimova in the World Cup to me was one of the most moving and thrilling performances of the year. Can’t wait to watch this and idk why I comment before watching and not after go ben!!!
No. Don't do that. Composure my friend composure.
It's pretty normal to comment before watching the video. Nobody has time or patience to watch 1h video before writing a comment.
The game against Nigel Short is very impressive. Qc2 especially. Always check what your opponent is threatening in every position, even if you're about to get two Queens!
Really love the increase of game and player analysis. It is REALLY helping my play. I am looking for and finding better moves in my chess. THANKS BEN AND KAREN!
I like those games: strong positional play combined with great tactical sensibilities.
Amazingly, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap had a hit song about her a long time ago: "Nurgyul, get out of my mind!"
: /
Salimova was definitely a dark horse during the world cup, will be exciting to see youngsters like her and Shuvalova gain their GM norms in the near future
I live near Toronto and will definitely check out this event for a few days. Salimova is one to watch, she seems strong.
She's got a bright future! Punching outside her class that's for sure
by 9 times out of 10 , I mean 10 times out of 10. love it
BG power! Makes us all very very proud, and will continue to do so!
Nurgyul is one of the most exciting players in the past few years ...really like her style, sometimes it's like watching fireworks games from the 1800's (years , not ELO) or something when shes attacking :)
Благодаря Емил. Thank you Ben!!!
She is a great attacker, also is so seriouse and clever. She have so much fans and can be future of chess.
Dear GM Finegold, Nurgyul is a Bulgarian girl of Turkish origin. In Bulgaria, there is an officially recognized Turkish minority. You have done a very nice overview of her development, for which I thank you. You have said the most important thing about her, exactly what I noted when I started looking at her World Cup games. She plays fearless chess! She is not afraid to play boldly to apply creative ideas no matter what level her opponent is. I believe she will become a world champion. Wish you all the best!
Nice, love her chess!
Great win in that last game. Thank you.
Go Ben!
salimova is a master of ben's rules. Always sac the exchange!
And today bulgarian women's chess team /with Nurgul/ become EU champion!
She is not only a great chess player, but also a very nice person. Hope she gets where she deserves and be the world champion one day (soon :)
I love the Music Truck sisters 😂
I am surprised that she did not play in the recent Grand Swiss, I was looking for her, she is awesome. Maybe she skipped it because she already got a spot in the Candidates.
Really ? Were you for real ? : /
Where is the great players of the present arjun erigaisi video ? . He had an amazing year . World cup quarterfinal and grand swiss joint 3rd . Just missed out on candidates sport in both
He had to pick a girl. Cause you know. Men are just completely selling themselves out right now. I don't know for what.
nice video. hopefully we'll get a video for IM Vaishali also.
Ah yes, Nurgyul, my favorite Garfield character
@GMBenjaminFinegold Completely unrelated to your presentation on Nurgyul Salimova, I keep getting distracted by the Garde schaakklok in the background, the old-fashioned one. I've got the same, and I'm just curious: Did you get this one when you lived in Belgium?
more like NurGOAT SaliMorphy
nice
I hope Nurgyul marries Mr. Kebrdle from Ben's recent 5-minutes video and takes his name. I would like chess commentators to say "Nurgyul Kebrdle" as much as possible.
"there's 2 pictures of salimova on Wikipedia which is very good"
Yep. She fine
How much muz would a muzychuck chuck if a muzychuck could chuck muz
At 37:49, does Black even have Nxb2?
Bulgariaaaa!❤
Mike Kummer approved this video.
Pronounced both 1 and 2 names wrong, proving his point
Whenever I see the Tartakower variation of the Caro Kann in a video, something awful is happening to somebody. I dunno how it got a boring reputation, lol, I've always associated it with tricks
She was 7???
Brains & Beauty!!
Mann that's a dirty shirt, can't believe Karen allows you to appear on camera like that 😂
She's very good of course. But likelihood to become world champ is very slim
31:14
Ok obviously this line isn't the best for black but surely she's not losing; Qe5 to stop mate?
Ben's sense of humor never get's old or boring. In contrast, Gotham is just a clown
Poor kings
Nurgyul is not that great, since she lost fight for title in this year World Cup.
I want to marry her..
She might sacrifice your rook. Terrible
@@madhavsanap6690 my rook would shed tears on her face if she did that..
Impressive play but the tactic in the end was like super easy. Id guess a 1800 lichess tactic.
ugh, Ben your loud silence on the ongoing genocide against Palestinians is pretty sad. I came over to your channel to check out what you have to say, and all I find is non-commentary that normalizes the genocide. For a lefty, you could do better.
At least you're following Ben's rule: always repeat.
@@jonasjensen9305 ah yes the great chess wisdom "always repeat non-facts obsessively until you convince yourself they are true"... of course... wait for it...
